This happens to me sometimes, because of an installation of an app or a skin.. I beleive it has something to do with the volume control scripts or somethin'..
If I were you I wouldn't worry so much, as it fixes up itself when you uninstall whatever caused this problem, or install another app or skin that could fix the problem without you knowing..!
Anyhow, attached is the original volume control files; transfer to your device & replace to WINDOWS folder using TotalCommander...
@chanmama
Would this be your case..?

As I mentioned earlier; this could happen because of an installation of an app or a skin that is not FULLY compatible with the HD, although it works fine.
Try to remember when did this happen so that you'd be able to specify which apps/skins have such effect on your device.
Moreover, you shouldn't worry much about this matter since it solves itself as you install/uninstall applications

That was a misunderstanding: I meant you should try to DISABLE that in s2u2 settings...

Hello,
I have a similar problem: for some reasons, my volume buttons do not work anymore; if I press them once, I go to the usual volume screen. But if I press them again, it returns to the previous screen and act as "go up/go down".
For example : if I am in the Music tab and press the volume button once, it goes to the volume screen. But if I press it again, instead of increasing/decreasing the volume, it returns to the music tab and go to the next/ previous song.
It is quite annoying, so any help would be greatly appreciated
BTW, I installed Reales Task Bar yesterday, and I noticed the problem after that, so maybe it is linked. I uninstalled Reales Task Bar but nothing changed.
**Edit** In fact it was Resco Contact Manager 0.95 Beta that caused that problem.
thanks!!
had the same problem now solves..
resco contacts beta
similar problem here...
the keys won't work anymore if i press them, i always have to open the title bar and manually go into the volume settings and raise or lower the volume with the keys or with the finger.
outside the volume settings it does absolutly nothing?!
I guess it's Mobile Magic, because it changes the keys' behaviour, but i turned it off already.
can someone help?
Same problem with Pocket Shield
I did get the same problem after I installed (and payed for) PocketShield....
Will try to replace the files (mentioned above) unless someone has a better solution?
ya definitely thats because of app installation that is not fully compatible often i have seen those problems and i started making another folder in my pc and mobile saying fully working and now i dont have that problem and ofcourse one of you mentioned the problem bcoz of topbar ya definately dont believe those topbar thats rediculous thing coz u cant uninstall even if u uninstall its always in ur remove program and that effects u on ur screen rotation aswell.
happened to me yesterday so i just did a hard reset and now its perfectly working again

well try this and do it twice ... start/settings/touch flo/ and check the box says "show system status screen when status icons are tapped"
These two handy Tasker profiles will help with some common nuisances with how ringer and notification volume is handled. By default, the ringer and notification volumes are not connected. So when you use the volume rocker to adjust the ringer, it leaves the notification volume as is. This to me is useless. If I turn the ringer down, there is a reason for that. I don't want the text / email notification to blare out at full volume.
The other thing that may or may not be an issue for you is how media volume is handled when you go into Silent Mode. Specifically, it does nothing. Silent mode has three modes. Off, Vibrate, and Silent. Off is normal ringers and such. Vibrate is vibrate only, no ringers. And silent disables the ringers and vibration. But none of this effects the media volume! So you've put the phone on silent mode, either vibrate or completely silent. Fire up a game, and out comes the sound blaring at whatever volume you were last using it at. Not good.
This tasker profile called Volume Sync is absurdly simple. When the ringer volume changes, it will set the notification volume to match it. No user intervention required. It will behave just like previous versions of the Andriod OS where the two volume sliders were linked on change.
Volume Sync Profile
This other profile called Silent Mode will do the following: On vibrate, it will reduce the media volume to 1. So it's still on but it will be quiet when you fire up an app. If you go completely silent (no ringer and no vibrate), it will set the media volume to zero. So it will be truly silent. When silent mode is turned off, the media volume reverts back to its previous setting. I have it saving the old media volume to a custom variable, so it can restore that.

Awesome, thanks!
But how do I import these into tasker?

Aha, Google is my friend.
You have to click on the profile tab label then choose import.

Yep. Put the XML files on the SD or internal storage. Default location for Tasker profiles is internal storage\tasker\profiles. Long press the profiles tab and you'll get the import option.
Thanks for this! It's working great, I can finally use tasker.
I have a question that's slightly off topic. I know this isnt a tasker q&a but hopefully you can help me out.
I would like to make a homescreen shortcut for a "driving mode" toggle. Its located in settings/language and input/text-to-speech output/driving mode (toggle).
I have tried this myself and I think the solution will be very easy but tasker is just overwhelming to me right now. The only reason I bought tasker was so that I could make this shortcut.
Sorry for the off topic. As I said, I know this isn't a tasker q&a. Tia.
Edit... I see that the rom I'm on (moar) has a widget for driving mode. Most roms I've tried don't have this so it would still be nice to know how to make a shortcut.
You're welcome.
To do what you want, you'll need to download "Driving Mode Widget". It's a simple little widget you can put on your screen to toggle driving mode on and off. The widget can also be commanded by Tasker. It will show up in the plug-in or third-party actions once you install Driving Mode Widget. Works perfectly, and I use it for exactly that.
You gotta be freakin kidding me! Hahaha, that's so funny. Wonder how long that's been in the market. I've needed that for so long and had no idea that it was in the market. Thanks again!

Oh, oops. Forgot that doesn't have direct integration. It has "exposed intent". Click Driving Mode Widget in the app drawer (the app, not the widget). It will give you instructions for sending commands to it with tasker. You configure it by adding a task that it in Misc > Send Intent.

I have it in my internal storage\Tasker\profiles folder and imported it from there. I also have some profiles I got from here in the auto-import folder.
Either way, I had to manually import them first by pressing Profiles>Import from Tasker.
Are you saying you've done that and Tasker won't import them? Do you get an error message?
If that doesn't make it appear in your Profiles, I'm not sure what the problem is as I'm not very experienced with Tasker.
Hopefully MCL 1981 or someone else will respond.

That's exactly how it's named, verbatim. No difference.
Are you starting from the Profiles or Tasks tab. I start from the Profiles tab but I have read of some folks who had trouble that way and long pressed on the Task tab to import from there.

I'm not sure my last message was very clear. You need to do this from the Profiles tab, not the Tasks tab, as it is a profile.
Projects = .prj.xml, tasks = .tsk.xml, profiles = .prf.xml
So I know that this is a dead thread, but I figured I would post the XML since this is gone. Super simple profile.
This is an additional hardware button for your android device that goes into your headphone jack. Not unlike the Pressy kick starter project. It's under $5 delivered from here http://www.dx.com/p/3-5mm-plug-shortcut-key-for-android-phone-silver-315648#.U2DYX3k_70x. I've ordered a couple to see how useful they are. There is an app that goes with it, but it would be awesome to see some custom app development for these things. I reckon they could do some pretty cool things with root access.
Anyway, what do we think?
Yep, got this one last week. There is an issue with app which I'm trying to figure out. That is a reason why I haven't posted my review
The button works perfectly. The app asks you if you want to use it as Klick or headphone, and no matter what I select, it always works as Klick. So, when I insert my headphones with in-line remote, clicking on play button activates pre-defined Klick shortcuts. I need to try it with another phone to make sure it's not related to my Note 2. Other than that, app works great where you can define single, double, triple click and long press, assigning it to different apps as a shortcut.
Have you try using the app? Does it work selecting between Klick and headphones?

Hey Vectron. I haven't got mine yet, so I cant offer any opinion at this stage. A couple of questions. Are there many functions you can perform without having to unlock the phone? Also, I've read somewhere that it's not compatible with Android 4.4. Are you running that on your Note? Could that be the reason for the headphone issue?
That button triggers the same intent as the headphones button. So why don't you use an app that recognizes that button, best recommendation being Tasker, of course?
Yeah, that's definitely my plan. I'll check out the stock app first, and then start mucking around with Tasker. I'm still in the process of learning the ropes with Tasker, so I'll take my time....
Thanks
On the topic of using Tasker to control Klick, I found an app called Headset Button Controller (that's the free version but there's also a paid version) that allows you to set functionality for no less than 8 different headset button 'gestures' (basically different combinations of short and long presses). One thing you can set any gesture to is "Tasker task", which then allows you to choose a Tasker task that you've already created and apparently that will happen when the relevant headset button gesture happens.
Being a Tasker novice, creating the headset button press event(s) doesn't appear to be straight forward. It looks like this app will make that aspect much easier.
Anyway, I haven't got my Klick yet, so I can't try it out, but it seems like a much easier way of allowing much more functionality to this device quite easily. Once my Klick arrives I'll give it a go.

A bit of a bump here but I've received mine from DX, looks/feels good enough for me to leave in my device 24/7 as I don't use headphone's, one problem is that calls are silent unless I take it the pressy-clone out, is there any option in Android/Headset Button Controller that allows me to bypass that?

Yeah mine arrived the other day too. I'm still working out the finer points of it. If you have the Klick app installed it should ask you, when you plug it in, whether you've just plugged in your klick or your headphones. If you choose klick, your phone calls should still work properly. But I've noticed that it seems to forget at times, and decides that you do have headphones plugged in. Hopefully they will begin updating the app.
I think Tasker will be the best way to control these things, albeit quite complex. I'm going to start working on that when I have a bit of down time...
The device itself looks good and send to be well made. Fingers crossed the software improves.
I second https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.kober.headsetbutton Works great for the Klick on the Galaxy S5, would be worth buying the pro version.
Trying to use Klick on my Motorola Razr HD on the other hand is a different story. The phone (independent of rom!) interprets the click as a mouse press on the screen which makes it completely useless
Update!
I finally got the Klick to work on my Razr HD. Knowing that the click action is essentially a headset press (thus why the apps ask what you plugged it), I was able to troubleshoot based on that and found my answer in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexu...trols-t1997277
Basically you install the Key test app in that thread and find out what the click is being interpreted as by android, in my case it was "BUTTON_1" with an address of key 256. This is wrong, we want the button to be "HEADSETHOOK". (Your button number will likely be different depending on phone model)
I opened /system/usr/keylayout/Generic.kl in root explorer and changed the "BUTTON_1" to "HEADSETHOOK" next to key 256, saved and rebooted. Works great now. Good luck guys!
The bad news:
Nexus 7 (2012) doesn't detect any button presses at all from the Klick

Thanks for the heads up. So does it play well with the Klick as well as Pressy?
I've had my Klick on the back burner for a while. I didn't have sufficient spare time at the moment to keep playing with Tasker, but I'll get back to it eventually. It sounds like the Headset Button Control and Sound About apps may be more useful now.
I also know that the Pressy's are finally starting to roll out so that could mean more apps that support this kind of hardware might pop up. If anyone sees anything, please let us know.
All reports are that the official Pressy app works better than the Klick app. You need to own a Pressy to have access to their app, AFAIK. Maybe that will change in the future and you'll be able to pay for the app...

Android-Version: 4.4.4_20082015
Kernel-Version: 3.0.36+ [email protected] #58

In the Settings Menu there's an option for Factory Settings, which needs a password. I read the password here, but my question is: When I enter the password will the device Factory reset or will there appear a menu with additional settings?
There is a settings menu to remap the steering wheel controls. But remapping the steering wheel controls doesn't work. Is this a known problem?
On the steering whell the controls for media next and media back are switched. Is there an easy way to fix it?
Is there a way to remap the hardware buttons on the device itself -> Like the Navi Button should not open Google Maps but should open nokia here.
As I am using the device mostly offline I will use noka here for navigation. Is there a way to make the volume of nokia here lounder than the volume of the music?
As the Kernel-Version says "root" in it. Am I already rooted?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Factory Settings code *#hct#root# for rooting
126 - factory settings menu
Might be worth you watching some youtube videos so can see what to expect. To answer some of your questions:
- Factory settings password just takes you to some new menus.
- under Navi options I had the option to direct my Navi button to whatever navigation software I wanted to use. If you don't have this take a look at some of the mods on the Software forum as you can use those to do the same thing.
- under navi options I had the option to adjust the mixing volume or make audio cut to give you navi directions
- SWC, same for me but if you can find the right canbus option then then that might let you map keys, otherwise look in the software mods area.
- to test root, download something like superuser Su and see what it says (can only use it if rooted).
To be honest, I think the best you can do is to have a play with the options, if you aren't changing ROM etc its unlikely you'll do anything that is not reversible.

Take a look at this but don't know if it will be the same for your unit.
2. If you have canbus SWC you cant remap it, just resistive SWC can.
3. In Factory Settings there is an option "swap canbus next prev" what you have to activate.

The satnav audio mixing is in Settings>GPS Monitor.
Change it from Switched to Mixing
The volume is set at 10 on my unit.
1. It'll go into a menu (check wiki)
2. If you are using canbus, you cannot remap. only if using SW connection
3. Try changing rudder setting in factory settings; otherwise perhaps canbus is intercepting incorrect
4. Check some of the software mods. Some can turn down audio when navigation needs to sound, then return back to normal
Thank you all for the help!
Because of your help I figured out everything. And now the device is almost perfect much better than I expected!
I'm new to this phone as of a few days ago and love it coming from the Pixel 3a XL. The one thing I noticed at least for my phone is that even with the Ringer/Notification volume set to the lowest it's still pretty loud. I've checked all of the settings and I don't think I'm missing anything so maybe that's just the way this phone is?
Yes, it is just that loud. OnePlus would be wise to address this in a future update. The volume on low would be fine if it was the medium setting.

Sorry, slow response. Pretty busy with work.
You will first need to search and read up on Tasker. Find a recent source so that versions match up with what you have on your phone.
Set up two tasks name one Vol down and one Vol up or something similar.
Then set up a profile based on State - wifi connected. You can pick the specific wifi.
Then add the task Vol down and the exit task Vol up.
Repeat for different wifi.
There will be more detailed example out there in cyberspace.
Cheers
