.cpr files

ok... i been searching for hours n hours for 3 days now on how to open the CHome_240x320.cpr. i found it in the windows directory and when i select it it says:
there is no app associated with "CHome_240x320". Run the app 1st and then open this file inside the app.
im confused... HELP!!! lol
If I'm not mistaken you can copy the .cpr to your computer and open the file from within notepad.

In the Rose ROM, the CHome_240x320.cpr is not used. Its the HTCSlidingPanel_320x240.cpr and SlidingPanel_320x240.cpr. Edit those to your liking.
cpr.
Depending what rom you're using, ( I don't know anything about the rose rom yet) you need to copy the cpr from the windows directory to a different folder, like to your documents folder, and then you can copy it to your computer and open it with notepad, you can't see the windows folder from your pc when you're browsing your phone, so that's why you have to copy it to a different folder first . This is how I did my cprs.
You should check this thread out, it has all you need to know about it.

Another post about .cpr editing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=434858 it is linked off the .cpr .dll changer but thought i'd make it easier for you

First always keep an original copy of your cpr file, when you copy it to your pc , before you modd it , make a copy, so if you mess it up you can delete the bad one from the phone and still be able to go back and drop the original back if you need to.
Do i need to have it zipped when i place it back into my phone???

No. use your windows explorer on your pc after syncing with it. open your mobile device and take the cpr file , drag it and drop it back in your phone, like I said before, in reverse, after is on your phone's documents, folder you have to copy it to the windows directory and reboot.
Read the link i gave you the instructions are there including CHomeRefresh.. Which will stop you having to reboot phone after you replace the .cpr in your Windows Directory on phone.

If doing by adb, place the bootanimation.zip in your android sdk folder, in command prompt, navigate there, and issue the following commands:
adb remount
adb push bootanimation.zip /system/media
adb reboot
/system/customize/resource on sense roms
OR
place the file on your sdcard, use root explorer, enable r/w, copy the file, then move it to the above folder.
Where can I find the sdk folder?

I still don't know where that's at im new to all this so bare wit me
you need to download the Android SDK from the internet.
If you don't have ADB setup, it would take you two seconds to do this with root explorer to copy this from you sd card to system/media.

You can get it there. Its easier for me to just push it there, but like I said earlier, you can do it the root explorer way as well.

Very simple. Go to the site, install, open in, hit the sdk manager exe, run it, it creates a folder and you're done.
Then you you navigate to the folder via command prompt, then do your business.
None of this Bootscreen stuff makes sense, Please help?
I am using Evervolv-Acies rom, with clockmod recovery. I am trying to install this custom boot screen, but it's not working or I am doing it wrong. I have tried...
Install with "PushBoot" installer
- Download PushBoot HERE
- Extract "PushBoot" folder
- Move boot animation zip to "PushBoot" folder
- Plug in device (Leave in charge only mode) & double click "PushBoot2" Batch file
- Follow prompts in cmd.exe window to install your boot animation
Install with Root Explorer
- Download bootanimation.zip and put on root of your SD card
- Open RE & navigate to "system/media"
- Select "Mount R/W", then either delete, or move existing bootanimation.zip
- Navigate back to "sdcard", then move bootanimation.zip to "system/media" (AOSP ROMs)
- For Sense ROMs, move it to "/system/customize/resource"
Is Root Explorer a program? Or is it just File Library? or there is another App in the market, just Explorer.
Under File Library, I went to system/media and then it shows my zip file, but what do I do with this.. It doesn't sync with the directions. Also, the other way, was pushboot, which I tried, plugged in my usb cable to my computer and phone, hit the pushboot2 on the computer, couldn't find device. What am I doing wrong? All I want to do is change this bootscreen and possibly a splash screen?? Please help???
Root explorer is an app available from the market...just long press on the new bootanimation.zip, select copy navigate to the correct path for your Rom , rename old bootanimation.zip to bootanination.bak (if you want to keep it) paste in the new file...bada bing bada boom...you're done. What folder you need to navigate depends on which Rom you are using....

having the same problem, moved the old bootanimation.zip to somewhere else, followed directions from last 2 posts (using Root Explorer) and not working...grrrr.
was working before i d/l this new rom...what else should i try?
Edit: had to walk away & then figured it out...thanks

[Q] system folder and lang cahnge in MIUI rom.

from the headline, where is it? am i blined?
anothre thing, where do i find the build.prop file in the system folder, so i can change the lang in my phone?
thanks for any help.
p.s
sorry for any english mistake-not my prime lang.
Hi
To view system folder u will need root explorer or similar file manager. Inside the system folder is build.prop
Ordinary file managers will only show SD content.prob why you can't see it, there is prob a free file manager also but I only use root explorer as I find it very good.
Hope that helps

i use ASTRO file manager. am i loking at the wrong place?
Astro only views SD card contents, you need one that will view phone file s
The system folder is on ur phone not SD
Download file expert from market that's free
Open it ,on local tab just press back arrow in top right corner, then click the back slash this will bring you too all files.
Then click system
Hope that helps

you are great! works fine.
how can i replace it with another build.prop file from my PC?
Not sure from PC assume it would be thru adb but I don't no much about it
U can do it manual just put it on ur SD then copy and paste it to ur system folder ,make sure permissions match the original
Try root browser lite its free and works much better than file expert allows copy paste moving and permission changes.
Long press on files for all options

thank you, will try.

ADB help - how to push an entire directory?

Alright. I need help with this and Google can't help me. I need to recursively (i.e. all of the content in the directory) move an entire folder from Windows to my internal sd-card but no matter what I do, I just can't get it to work.
I now there's a way, somehow.
EDIT: Pitch-in: The sd-card is mounted as /mnt/sdcard/ right?
what about just zipping it? i dont think adb can do that easily
Lets say you have a folder called Wallpapers on your PC use the code below (assumes you copied Wallpapers folder to android-sdk\platform-tools):
Code:
adb push Wallpapers /sdcard/Wallpapers/
If you don't specify the destination folder (Wallpapers) on the sdcard then it will place the contents of the folder on your sdcard. No need for mnt in the destination.
Edit: unsure of how this will behave with subdirectories within the folder you're trying to push. You might have to push each subdirectory separately.

Working for me as I type. I don't know about the sub-directories as I just put everything into one folder and will move them to their new home once they finish transferring. Up until now, I've been moving everything individually. I didn't know you could move folders so this is awesome. Save me a lot of typing lol.

a thanks is enough, no need to necrobump a thread over a YEAR old, just to say it works.
I honestly just zip the file with all directories on my computer than adb it over. Extract with root explorer and move then delete zip file. Easy and simple

My backups were saved to /data/media/clockworkmod/backups. So either you can adb push your backups to there or you can put the backups onto the sdcard of your phone and use a file manager on your phone to move them to the correct folder.

Off the top of my head I believe it should be this (assuming you have the drivers installed for adb and usb debugging turned on)
Open Command Prompt
adb pull /data/media/clockworkmod/(whatever the name of your backup is) c:/
this line will copy the backup you want to the root of drive C, if you want it somewhere else just change the last file path
And how can I put it back to he same location

replace the word pull with push
its one of those basic ADB commands that everyone should learn if they are messing with their phone at all....
just enter 'adb', OP - it will give you all available parameters that adb has and a small description for each, although some are pretty much self explanatory.
