hello all
this is my first post, lamentabemente not very encouraging, I have a lg optimus g f180s! I'm from Ecuador and EBAY buy it.
The phone came with software version 4.0.4 f180s10h, so I go to xda and find, you can update the software in the same way that my previous lg nitro hd, ie via kdz ...
I proceed to download the file f180s20b, located on the xda page, and installed correctly.
Upon restart my phone was all perfect except:
It does not recognize the sim card
Does not display the IMEI (unknown), or the IMEI SV (unknown).
The baseban number :APQ8064/MDM9x15M
Done everything I'm desperate and can not find a solution to this problem, your help please!
I DONT attached photos

Did you back it up first? if so restore it, if not you might have to reflash the previous version.

1- installed official ICS kdz (F180S10j_00.kdz) ...it solved the signal issue... phone was working properly ..
2- rooted the phone and made backup of efs (with App = "Optimus G Tweaker - G Tools" from Google play
3- Copy the backup file (08 file with extension img) from phone internal memory to my PC
4- installed the official JB (F180S20L_00.kdz) .....
5- rooted the phone and copied the efs backup files back to phone and restored efs with same app

Firstly, about your IMEI : just flash the KDZ file again (for your phone version, imean F180S)
Secondly, about your signal after convert from F180 to E975, do as below
Your phone has been changed the baseband.
So just flash baseband again.
See your baseband here :
http:// www. sv5.4share.vn/1/?i=6755505e57525351&pad=58696b6f6b6d6d6a616c60&f=F lash%20Baseband.rar&l=654a080b114a1601004a57525c55 5555554857525c545555554a57525c55505153&uf=47347776 717174727476747270&sid1=59776b4060476c436f546d4577 46684477456c4477466b447a466a406a426c45604361546954 2a
Download the file as the link above, extract it. Copy the *.img file that base on your phone version (L,S,K) to your root
Running the file *.bat that base on your phone version (L,S,K)
==> reboot : DONE

Please help me.
I need a F180L 10q kdz or efs of this version. Bought an optimus g from Hong-Kong. Korean version (U+). I updated to hungarian 4.1.2. and no 3g or LTE. I found this method, but I don't have original ics rom to install it back. I think it will work with F180s10j_00.kdz.
The phone is the e975 international version, so the hardware must be good.

Don't flash korean modem on e975. You might brick your device.
What lte bands are used there?

Your IMEI WILL BE LOST IF FLASH NEW BASEBAND SO U MUST CREATE A BACK UP FIRST OF UR EFS PARTITION AND RESTORE IT LATER AFTER FLASHING NEW BASEBAND

You need your imei because it`s how a network carrier checks that you are using the sim card in that phone
Imei
Please tell me what to do. I have my imei (wrote it down before upgrade), but how can I create a backup of efs. I read about freegee, but - if I'm not mistaken - I need to make it work 3G/LTE, then make a backup of efs.
Please write me a tutorial what to do.

Dear Kimitza,
Looks like You are some kind of expert of this, and probably speak better english than me, but I'm still a human. Unfortunately not as smart as You. I asked for a help, and if I'm not mistaken this forum is for helping each other. You don't have to be rude, because You know something better than me. If You don't want to help me don't do it. Maybe You can't help me, maybe You don't know the solution for my problem.
I hope someone will be kind and help me out.
Best,
Peter

no my friend,i don't consider myself smarter than anyone.i never did, because it's all relative. i may know a litle more than you and somebody else may know more than me.it's just i'm sick of repeating the same things over and over, like a broken record. I always say, READ and SEARCH first. Make a backup,be safe than sorry.
True, this forum is for sharing and help. But you gotta help yourself and think first. "Hey,i'm about to do something that can brick my phone. How do i do it safely?Where do i find the solutions?" If you would ask BEFORE doing,i would be more than happy to provide all the knowledge i have. we all would. but i see more and more questions about repairing damages made by ignorance. Your problem would've not appear in the first place if you would've used this forum. Don't get me wrong, it's your money and your phone, you can do whatever you like/want with it.All i'm saying is don't complain here about the answer you get because you screw up.
Optimus g
Here is the whole story. Bought an optimus g (international verison), when I get it, the phone offered me an OTA upgrade from 4.0.4 to 4.1.2. I never thought that this will cause me any problem. Everything was normal and official, this is why I did not make any backup. This is my third phone from abroad and never had any problem like this. The problem appeard when I put the sim inside. No 3G/LTE. I did search everything, tried almost everything: rooted, unlocked bootloader, tried official ROM (KDZ), unofficial ROM, flashed baseband, modem. Did everthing exactly I read about it at xda forums. Nothing seems to be working. Looks like You are my last chance, so please help.....

My next question is,do you have network signal? if you do, have you checked your carrier settings?meaning the APN?
Q&A for [EFS] LG G3 EFS Backup and Restore

Anyone verify if that LG IMEI backup app worked the same way? I flashed the zip with flashify and it worked fine.
I made a restore before flashig a rom, then I found out that my IMEI numbers where 0 and no signal. Now im trying to restore but after restore it just boots up in TWRP again. I flashed the zip file and restored again... did not help. Am I doing it wrong?
Backup Verification?
Is this all you need for EFS restore on the G3? I used the manual method through cmd terminal/adb on my pc and successfully created the two files. Can someone explain to a noob how I can verify that it was successful, i.e. a way to check the two .img files that were generated? Thanks in advance.

How to check if EFS is still on my device?
Hi guys, I'm an owner of a new LG G3.
Now I have a problem. I went to TWRP, deleted EVERYTHING in the wipe menu, without backing up EFS. Then I installed ChupaChups 2. with the ChupaChups skin and SuperSU 2.37. Now I don't know if I lost EFS or how to check if it's still on the device. Because in the settingsmenu "about phone" I can still see my IMEI and data seems to work fine, at least on 2/3g. Can somebody tell me how to check on this?
Someting odd at last, I experience Bluetooth-hickups with the rom, anybody can confirm this?
Thank you so much for your help, I'm a bit desperate here because I don't know if I really just destroyed my phone and I am hoping I'm able to restore to stock.

Hello,
It depends what you have in mind when you say "my info". If it is precious personal data, and you don't have a copy on another media, this is not too good. :-/ . If it is about the operating system and it's features, I have read that flashing back to stock rom is possible, as LG provides them in their Open Source section.
/Edit: ddaypunk06 I can't answer to the new content of your post. Someone else will.
I am interested in making a back up of my EFS folder, but I'm not rooted. I read here :http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/efs-lg-g3-efs-backup-restore-t2907329 that it can also be done using 4 ADB commands. Is it still necessary to be rooted to use the ADB commands ? by the way I'm on V20f.

Hi,
As I understand things, the 4 ADB commands mentioned are meant to root the phone. From this part of this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/root-root-lg-g3-easily-purpledrake-lite-t2821000
But, what if I don't want to run your script to root?
Well then, I'd be a little hurt, but you can still do everything the script does manually.
Download the package, and extract it. Open a terminal in the main folder of the archive and run these commands:
Code:
adb reboot --bnr_recovery
adb push ./assets/start_restore /temp/start_restore
adb push ./assets/permaroot.bin /temp/start_restore
adb reboot
That will perma-root you, however there's no protection from doing something stupid or the phone being incompatible. Please be careful!

So be it with 4 ADB commands or with the help of the DrakePurple-Lite script, you need to be root in the filesystem of your phone, if you want to be able to perform administration tasks.
So how I understand things, you can't access to the said files: the 2 parts of the bootloader, if you are not root in the Android operating system. Please see here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=54254062&postcount=2
EFS Backup:
Backup EFS after jailbreaking your G3. EFS is split into 2 partitions modemst1 and modemst2.
img files will be on root of internal sdcard. Save the .img files somewhere else besides the sdcard... email, cloud, etc..
I have made a new thread on EFS backup and restore which can be found HERE.

Hi there.
Go to Settings>about phone>Status.
You should see your IMEI, MAC Address and operator connection.
Also go to Phone and dial *#06# and you should again see your IMEI.
Make sure that it is not all 000000000s.
Edit: If you play with flashing roms backup your EFS folder!

Thanks for your reply. In conclusion , since we can't root lollipop yet, the only way to make a back up of my EFS folder is to downgrade to kitkat, then upgrade to lollipop. I'll think about it.

I only have a 4.4.2, LG G3 S stock, untouched, not updated. I am waiting for a missing clue to root it using DrakePurple-Lite in my Linux distribution. Which codename does that one have? With all the new words I am learning these days, I start getting into confusion, and "KitKat" and "Lollipop" looks to me like lots of sugar. I'll try to keep my phone on a low diet. lol

Can't find EFS folder
Hi!
Today I flashed EFS Backup but I can't see in windows or in the phone with root explorer..etc. But I see in the Recovery..So i can't copy to my computer or anywhere else..
Can You help me?
Thanks
I'm sorry for pulling the noob card. I have managed to backup my EFS using TWRP. I would like a second type of backup to be sure before I move any further. I've been down the lost IMEI on my Note 2. So my new G3 is a VS985 and this method does not seem to work? It goes through all of the steps, but when I look for the created folder there is nothing. Even the folder does not exist. One thing I have noticed is that when I try to create a backup from TWRP to the internal storage the same behavior occurs. Something is written and even TWRP can find it. Although when I am looking around for the created folder... I find nothing. Although when I write a backup to the SDcard it can be found. So if someone could help me with this it would be great. Thank you all for your time.
I think this is the same issue as the poster above me.
I get the impression this thread is no longer active?
Hi
I bought recently some refurbished LG F240. According to IMEI it was originaly a F240L. I had stupid idea to upgrade software to Android 5.0 so I downloaded original KDZ firmware for F240L. Update was succesfull and everything works fine except... GSM. I can use a WiFi but i can't make any phone call or send sms. When I check my phone IMEI using *#06# it shows "null"
I live in Europe so to fix this I tried to flash my phone again using KDZ for Germany (from this link: storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda%2FLG+Optimus+G+Pro%2FStock%2F ) and it still dosn't work . After it I rooted my phone and I installed CWM (lte2jbrecovery) and I tried to flash all modems from this link androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=17567 but none of them works. I also noticed that after flash modem (CWM says that it was succesfull) broadband version in "about phone" section dosn't change.
My only idea is to install back LG-F240-EUR ROM but i can not find this rom :/
Does anybody has any idea how can I fix this. I'll be very grateful for your help!
i think all f240 are korean
so your safest bet will be to flash f240 k/L/S KDZ, when i messed up flashing rom to my f240 and get no signal i always go back to to f240k korean kdz and it will be fixed

I did it before and after it I lost signal I think that I broke EFS partition during flashing KDZ file. I have no backup of EFS partition but i found info that it is possible to repair EFS partition using Z3X LG 2-3G Tool even without backup. I don't know how to do it but i found some company which do things like this so I hope that they repair this - they told mi that it should be possible

Considering you do not have an EFS backup, I'd strongly recommend you take your phone to an LG repair shop.
When you do so just point them the problem. That might make them solve it faster.
It takes a few minutes to restore the IMEI.
When you get your phone back, make sure you install TWRP from teamw.in website to have the latest version (you can do that using flashfy) . Then first thing you do is backup your EFS partition and keep it at your PC or an external hard drive.
That's your best shot if you're not at least a power user.
On the other hand, if you are, just Google a little bit and you will find a way to handle it yourself.
My friend lost imei (also wifi...) after flash Pie , That I know the EFS file (the file created by TWRP backup ) will help us give them back.
so, pls help me If you can use TWRP, help me backup EFS , and give it to us and anyone has same issue.
Tks so much.
my friend's device is XT 1789- 04 TMobile

Since you've updated the modem to pie, you won't get your baseband back until another pie modem comes along that is compatible or actually for TMO. TMO isn't releasing pie for the Z2F, so you're out of luck at the moment if/or until a suitable modem comes along. Who knows?
