[Q] T-Mobile 4.4.4 RUU....Anyone have it ? - T-Mobile HTC One (M8)

I have just converted my M8 to the GPE edition after achiving S-off, but now i want to return to stock with a RUU. However, before doing the conversion, I updated my device to android 4.4.4 for the new eye experience. That update also updated Hboot and i cannot use a 4.4.3 RUU to return to stock. Is there anyone who has a flashable RUU .zip file that i can flash that would return my device back to tmobile stock without having to use TWRP ? I would greatly appreciate it !

http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...G_20.56.4198.02_F_release_394971_signed_2.exe
There is the link to the RUU. You can flash it normally by running the application, or launch the exe, then go to your temporary folder and pull the rom.zip. Or you can go to this thread and have a twrp flashable (if you decide to go that way):

[Recovery] [RUU 2.22.531.6] [TWRP Nandroid Backups] [Radio IMGs][ OTA 3.32.531.2

Can you post the ROM.zip file ? I tried to flash the one from the RUU but it wont do it. Is there anyway to get back to sense from GPE using this ROM ?

Stock Recovery for HOX 1.29.709.12

This info is for those who only root their HOX Taiwan version phones without custom ROM. When trying the OTA update 2.17.709.2 (Taiwan unbranded version), I had a hard time to find the recovery of Taiwan version 1.29.709.12.
If you are in the same situation as mine, no need to relock, unroot or anything. Just follow the steps to get OTA installed:
1. Download the IMG file, place it in the same folder with fastboot files.
2. Make sure HOX is "Fastboot USB" mode.
3. In cmd: fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
4. Click "Software Update"
5. Once you have install the latest OTA, you can flash whatever recovery you want.
For those who need the 1.29.709.12 RUU, someone else provided this link to download the file. PJ46IMG_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_hTC_Asia_TW_1.29.709.12_Radio_1.1204.107.14_release_261362_signed.zip

i already restored and nand of the stock 2.17 that i had and then i flashed stock boot and recovery 2.17 that i've found in an ota 2.17.720.2 then relocked bootloader and everything now works fine for me. and i'm waiting for JB.
i posted the stock boot and recovery for 2.17.720.2.
Hi Guys,
I am also looking for RUU 2.17.720.2 CID_038 (India).
I update my official HOX with 4.0.4, did the boot-loader unlocked via HtcDev (without taking the backup of ROM) and started facing problems. As i couldn't find the RUU or Stock 2.17.720.2, I flash the stock 2.17.401.2.
Hence can some one provide me the backup of stock rom? and will it be useful / possible to restore my HOX to indian ROM ( 2.17.720.2)?
Regards

[Q] Upgrade to OTA JellyBean from a custom ICS rom

Hi, I have noticed that HTC_044 is receiving OTA updates to jellybean now, my CID is 044, Hboot version 0.96 and currently running AHD 9.7 custom rom. So how can I upgrade my phone to jellybean?
I have searched through some threads but still confuse with feasibility and step by step guide. The question is can I flash the first original ROM nandroid backup and use the software update from setting? I have to relock the bootloader and reflash original recovery? How do I know which recovery to use as there is 1.26, 1.28, 1.29? Or can I just download the OTA zip and flash it directly on AHD 9.7 custom rom? Or should I just wait developer to upgrade their ROM compatibility?
Thanks in advance
Err... That's a lot of questions.
If you restore your backup and boot.img and flash the stock recovery (I'm not sure which one hboot 0.96 corresponds to, but after booting the ROM you'll know), you should be able to.apply several OTAs to get to JB.
I assume your backup is old, so you will want Titanium backup or something.
An alternative is to relock your bootloader
fastboot oem lock
download 2.17.707.x RUU from htcruu.com (ENDEAVORU) which will wipe your phone. Then apply one OTA and unlock or whatever you want.
Thanks a lot for your patience in answering my loads of questions! I guess flashing RUU is the way to go right?
Or alternatively can I just flash Maximus 8.5 by following the steps provided and use the firmware update as provided in here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1957376?
BTW, will there be any difference if I use Maximus update instead of RUU, because I heard people are receiving battery update from OTA?

Going back to stock

Just a quick question that I'm sure I know the answer to but want to double check first.
I want to return to stock firmware for OTA updates but im on ARHD 5.0 (4.4.2).
ROM version 1.54.401.5
My hboot in bootloader says HBOOT-3.16.0.000 and Radio 1.15.2133156.UA13G.
I've seen 2 guides on here for returning to stock. Can i use wither of them or is one better than the other? I dont have any nandroid or recovery backups that I did myself.

What was your original software version? Doesn't help going on ARHD's ROM version if you previously ran a Rogers Canadian version for example.
What was your CID? Software version prior to custom ROM?
More details then we can provide better help as well.

The original version would have been 4.4.2 as i bought it in June and installed ARHD pretty much straight away.
The CID is HTC_001
I havent installed any new kernals either.

Ok when I said version I meant 1.54.xxx.x etc but it's fine, HTC__001 would make it 1.54.401.5/10.
So go to the Collection thread(you posted link yourself in OP) and download the backup for the HTC__001 1.54.401.10. Restore the backup, flash back stock recovery(also available on that thread) and you're good for OTA.
Flash back stock recovery -
Code:
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
But you can also get the details on how to flash and where to unpack the backup .zip file you'll download in the first 2 posts of the collection thread. :good:

Sorry yes i was originally on 1.54.401.5 but then did an OTA to 1.154.401.10 before installing ARHD. Can I just flash the nandroid for 1.154.401.10 then and it will work?
Will I still be rooted If i restore the nandroid and stock recovery or will that depend if the uploader rooted it first? as i want root and keep unlocked bootloader but want stock firmware with OTA updates.

Sorry yes i was originally on 1.54.401.5 but then did an OTA to 1.154.401.10 before installing ARHD. Can I just flash the nandroid for 1.154.401.10 then and it will work?

In general the nandroid backups aren't rooted, as they try to recover the original stock ROM. Thus you will loose root be going back to stock. I would do the following:
restore nandroid 1.54.401.10
flash 1.54.401.10 stock recovery
perform ota to 2.22.401.5
flash custom recovery (e.g. TWRP)
flash SuperSu zip
Following that way, you'll get your M8 updated to latest stock ROM and regain root.

Thanks that's perfect

I've tried it that way a few times and am unable to get the update. It says that the phone is current on 4.4.2. Is there another way?

Sorry mate,
have been on vacation for a few days.
Did you try to perform the OTA before or after reflashing the custom recovery?

How to update firmware with S-ON

I would like to update my HTC10 to Oreo.
Currently I am running Nougat, firmware 2.41 and S-ON.
Can some help me how I can got back to stock using HTC RUU or Stock Backup and OTA method?
I've searched but I can't find any good tutorial here on XDA.
Thanks in advance!

The ruu method is extensively covered in all sections, the Q&A subforum (where this thread belongs too) are filled with the same question and covered.
Get the oreo ruu zip for your region, rename it and copy it to the SD card, boot into download mode and follow the on screen instructions to flash it.

Thanks for your reply.
So just to be clear, if I have download the oreo ruu zip (like this one: https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=746010030569969175) I just place the zip file on my SD card, flash it in download mode and I will have stock oreo with latest firmware on my HTC 10?
My HTC 10 is S-ON, firmware 2.41.401.41, CID__34 and using MaximusHD 3.9 (Nougat)

That's correct, but you must rename the file to
2PS6IMG.zip
Otherwise download mode will not recognize the ruu.
Thanks!
For my HTC M8, I remember I had to go back to stock step by step.
Didn't knew it is so easier nowadays.
After I've flashed your RUU zip file, can I install any other Oreo rom directly?

That RUU won't work with Nougat firmware. For some reason Oreo RUU needs Oreo firmware for it to work. Instead Flash 2.41.401.41 RUU then boot the phone and take OTA to Oreo.
RUU can be found here
https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817550096634797504
After you take the OTA boot to system, flash twrp then flash Oreo ROM of choice.

No. RUU will fully wipe and make you stock

The link doesn't work anaymore. Do you know an alternative link to this file?
Try this for S-On. It is firrmware only (110 MB) to go from 2.41.401.41 to 3.16.401.2
2.41.401.41--3.16.401.2_S-On_firmware.zip | by Santod Mods for HTC 10
Download GApps, Roms, Kernels, Themes, Firmware, and more. Free file hosting for all Android developers.
androidfilehost.com
Download it. Rename it to 2PS6IMG.zip. Copy this to SD Card. Put SD Card into phone. Boot to Download Mode. Flashing will start automatically.
After that, download this complete firmware (1.9 GB):
1.89 GB file on MEGA
mega.nz
FLash it the same way.
Your phone should be up and running with latest Oreo.
