Nope, I have 3 Fire Tv's. All the apps are in the cloud.

Thank you.

Also, in case the default names get confusing, you can change them online. I was tearing my hair out trying to figure out how to change the name in the menus on the device itself. Turns out that you set it online under the devices section of your Amazon account

Can I set up 1 pin for all of my fire TVs? Can it block my son to order movies, games

Hi,
I have several fire TVs registered to a same amazon account. I don't want to order anything on my fire TVs. (I just ordered netflix and hulu with my pc.)
1. Do I need set up different PIN for every fire TV or 1 PIN for all of them?
2. If I have set up the PIN, Can it block my son to order anything on it?
3. If I have set up the PIN, how do I know it's ok on my fire TV so that I would not do an Accidental Order?
4. If I have set up the PIN, can it block the in-app purchases?
In a word, I don't want to order anything on any fire TV, I need block this function! I would rather order something with my PC.
thanks

Sorry I don't have a link but if you Google "amazon pin" or "amazon one click payment" that should get you where u need to be.
Yes. It will make it so u need to enter a pin for every purchase. And it will be applied to all amazon devices. I know what you're saying...its waaaay too easy. Got a little guy of my own and he signed me up for a month prime trial. Then he actually got me a year. Of course amazon cancelled it for me but it shouldn't be that simple.

Bypass amazon registration?

Hi all,
looking at doing some tv sticks pre loaded with kodi for a few friends and family. I've noticed that each one has to have an amazon account registered to it before you can start using it. I was wondering is there any way to bypass this or is it best to make a bogus account and use that?
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Regards
As far as I know, you can't bypass it. Fire TV needs an Amazon account. You can create a new account if you don't want to use an existing account.
What i do is register it under my own account and add everything then go to
settings/my account/amazon account/deregester
Then the person just has to register an amazon account and everything will still be on the stick
@hawkwind666 - I tried that and it didn't seem to work. I am setting up a few sticks for family members as gifts. I only know one of their Amazon accounts and wanted to others to be a surprise. For the one I knew I set it up using my ID and the. Deregistered and signed in as him. When I did Ikono TV was gone and therefore the KODI shortcut.

Icon will disappear as soon as you deregister unit because Ikono app was purchased under your account. The only way to fix this is to purchase Ikono for each account and then set it up, no way around this.
Use Firestarter to launch Kodi if you want to use a different account after side-loading. Otherwise sign in with the persons account before using the ikono/llama method, else a dummy account (you'll have to enter an address and set it as the one-click default before free apps can be downloaded on the account - no payment info required.)

On the big AFTV, if ordered from Amazon, comes already tied to your account. When I fired up my new Fire 7 this weekend, the data for my account was automatically retrieved when I started the tab and hooked to wifi.

I don't believe this applies to the Fire TV or Sticks. However, it is a prompted option when ordering any of their tablets, having ordered both a tablet and a Fire TV in the past month.

I'm sorry. I meant to say that my Fire TV was also tied to my account when I got it several months ago. Same with my Fire 7 I just got. The user name and account info were already in both.
I am sure they just tied the serial number to my account when it shipped so when I fired each of them up, they phoned home and did a lookup of the serial and populated my data in each device.

That's odd, my Fire TV (4k) didn't, it prompted me to login or register on first boot. It wasn't bought from Amazon but it was new, maybe thats why. The Fire tablets though, they do give an option while purchasing to automatically link it to your account, I think it may be checked by default.

It will only be linked to your account if you buy it direct from Amazon.

That was my point. They scan the serial when they (Amazon) ship it to the end customer. Of course it won't be linked if you pick one up at Bestbuy. Both my Fire TV and Fire 7 were both bought on that EVIL 'one click' they have so I can't comment on a check box as mentioned a few posts up.
The problem is that you need to enable ADB debugging to sideload apps, and you need to enter the settings to enable ADB debugging, and you need to enter Fire TV Home to get to the settings. So, unfortunately, you need to log in with a (bogus) account at least once to get to the Fire TV home screen.
After that, though, it's an entirely different matter. Once you sideloaded Firestarter you can set it up to autostart and get to your apps without logging in at all. After a few seconds on the "log in or create account" prompt, Firestarter will kick in with its own launcher from where you can directly launch Kodi or any other app that isn't directly tied to your Amazon account.

That'll be why  I nearly missed the prompt myself, I don't trust myself with one-click.

In order to not have the fire tv or stick tied to your account when ordering direct from Amazon,... at checkout, select that its a "gift". You'll still be able to order it and have it shipped to you but it won't be tied to anyones account.
I am unable to log in using my Amazon logins? Says it can not be registered. I bought it already loaded with a Kodi type app. Any suggestions?

Setup multiple aftvs quickly as possible

So after having mine for a while now and showing it off I have had a few friends ask me if they purchased one could I set it up like mine for them.
Also thinking about getting one for each of my brothers for Christmas this year. I will not be doing root just installing fire starter and aide loading Kodi with my preferred addons.
Mainly I just want to back up my Kodi settings and adb the backup to the new devices.
I have this covered no issues.
Unless someone else has a better idea for that we will move on to the real question
During the setup process I have to login to my Amazon account. When I do these to my friends I would prefer that my cc info not be available to them. Is de registering the device sufficient enough in removing this?

Yes it should be, I also did the following when making a new account
Ok here's what I did, just make and separate email account and register with Amazon again. and use that account on the Amazon Fire TV, please note, some apps require a credit card or visa to be added to the account to be installed even if they're free apps. to get around that just add a fake credit card or visa to the account it'll work. It did for me.
I bought 3 fire sticks on Black Friday one for my office, one for my sister and one for her son. What I did was to configure the one for my office and used the fire utility app to backup the kodi setup. Then I just used the fire utility app to push kodi and firestarter restore the backup on each of the other sticks. 10 minutes for each stick.
When I was done with each stick in the fire tv system settings menu at the end there is an account selection. Pick account and then choose deregister account. This will remove your amazon information and prompt them for their information when they plug it into their tv. None of your kodi installation is touched using this method. Fire starter works etc.

Preventing Fire TV From Linking To Amazon

Hey,
What's a way to prevent the Fire TV from being linked to any Amazon accounts?
Also what would it do if you had no Amazon account linked to the box? Can you still download non-amazon apps?
If you had no Amazon account linked to the box, you would have no home screen.
There's no way to use the Fire TV or Fire TV Stick without first logging in with an Amazon account.

Unlock blacklisted Fire TV stick 3rd gen

A friend gave me a Fire TV stick, and told me that for some reason it couldn't be linked to his Amazon account. The first thing I did was to restore it to its factory status (using the control). After that, the device can not be updated. After a little research, it seems that the device is blacklisted by Amazon.
Is there any way to change the operating system and/or bypass the Amazon account linking process? It is a 3rd generation Fire TV stick.
Thanks in advance!
