I also had the same problem that you did. v20 has issues with gps fixes. Just go to v18e and it'll be just fine. Works perfect for me now. Get the flashable one here (MAKE SURE YOU READ EVERYTHING) if you have CWM.
Hope I helped you,
Sincerely, uvbeenzaned!

FM radio

Hello,
I would like to know which ROM's are supporting FM radio and it's confirmed that FM radio is working?
Thnx ....
Hello!
I wanted to help answer your question...
I have an Ion with LOCKED bootloader (not able to unlock it - LT28at) but I have tried ALL (literally every one of them) the alternative ROMs offered for locked bootloader here on XDA.
MOST of the ROMs I have tried have had support for FM Radio. It's a very important feature for me so it's one of the first things I check when I flash a new ROM.
The ONLY ROMs that DO NOT support FM Radio are those based on CyanogenMod in any version. (CM9 or CM10, for Ions). This is true of the "pure" CyanogenMod ROMs as well as those that are modifications of them. It's a "known issue" of those ROMs.
It is also true, according to the forums, of CM for locked OR unlocked bootloaders; doesn't matter.
Hope that helps! If so, please click "thanks"!
P.S.: There's one ROM that I tried that I never could get to load properly (bootloop no matter what I tried) so I'm not sure about that particular one: "Emerald Smooth ROM".

Walkman is available to install on any ROM if you look for it. Bravia engine doesn't work on any phone with unlocked bootloader, rolling back to JB won't help you there, you need to relock the bootloader (search for "relock bootloader xperia s"). Xloud barely works, I'm sure you never put a decibel meter against your phone to measure the difference between Xloud on a stock ROM and the loudest setting on a custom ROM.
Guide to roll back to JB:
Search for a .96 based ftf file and install it with Flashtool.
Or even easier (recommended):
Use EMMA: http://developer.sonymobile.com/services/flash-tool/how-to-download-and-install-the-flash-tool/. This will recognize your phone and automatically download the latest official firmware for it.
To relock the bootloader, I think the ftf file to do so is included in Flashtool (not EMMA, the unofficial Flashtool), there's an option in Flashtool to relock bootloader.

You probably installed something else from somewhere, the link I gave you is safe, guaranteed. It's Sony's own website

In the zip file downloaded from Sony for the EMMA application installation there are two additional files: a pdf (with instructions) and an ini file.
In the pdf there is a specific step advising you to copy the ini file to some location after installing EMMA. This step is required instead of the registration.
stay in topic
the topic was fm radio.
i tried installing cm10 and carbon on xperia acro s.
neither had radio. after reading the first answer, i tried finding another rom but before that i read the features of each one.. fm radio was never mentioned and after some more research it appears to be a big problem for developers since it is rarely mentioned not even as a but or in todo lists. i suppose few people miss it but for me is a must as i frequently use it for my running sessions.
I even tried spirit fm but it doesnt work for non stock xperia roms. (not for my acro s cm10 anyway)
any ideas?
hello,
does any fm app like sipirit fm work on beanstalk rom for ion ?
i really like fm radio
if it dosen't work, is that a bug cant be solved or its just a minor bug to be done in some day?
thanks
i found this rom cm-10-20131224-FXP-hikari.zip with radio app (google it to find the link, i m not allowed yet).. however the radio app crashes a lot, and it is much inferior to the stock radio..
and, being in the kitkat era, i d love to see a kitkat rom with radio that would also be stable...
ps. if i ever manage to post this, i think it is going to be my last post, the f...en captcha has beaten me!

[Q] What do I need to get Sony's firmware update in my not unlockable Z1 Compact?

Hello, I would like to be able to get Sony's Firmware updates, basically to fix an audio Bug. My carrier told me they would not release that update, or any at all, however I really need it. Plus, I would like to get those new features that Sony offers and Android Lollipop when available.
The thing is my Z1 Compact is not allowed to Unlock the Bootloader, although when I connect it to the PC while pressing Volume Up, the LED turns blue, which means it's Unlockable, as I read somewhere.
So , I hope you can help me with this: What do I need to get Sony's firmware update in my not unlockable Z1 Compact?
Thanks in advance.
Firmware installed: 14.3.A.0.681 (Android 4.4.2 KitKat)
You don't need to have unlocked bootloader to do a update. Download latest firmware and flash via flashtool how to flash rooms is describe in general section In first thread you need your phone flashtool rom and knowledge how to flash firmwares as I mention in general section is everything to do that. Bootloader unlock is necessary when you want to flash cm or aosp or kernel other than stock
Thank you!
Hello, Wrocław.
Thank you so much for your answer! It's been very helpful.
One last question: The firmware I will download, does it need to be for my country/carrier? Because I have my carrier's latest firmware installed and they said the won't release any other update for the z1 compact... So, is it enough to get the same language firmware (spanish)? Or does it need to be for my specific country (Perú)?
Thanks again!

If you are keen to get the latest firmware and baseband then you should head over to IaguCool' s thread on Xperia Firmware Downloader & Checker. Follow the instructuions there. You will need a copy of Flashtool and it'd be good to read the thread on 'how to' as all the instructions are there, rather than jump to the last page and ask, which is what everybody does.
This will deliver you the latest stock build for your area/service priovider, bootlocked and not rooted, so what you do with it after that is up to you?
Thanks, Didgesteve!
I've got the latest firmware release by the carrier for my country installed, the bad part is that's not the latest firware available for Z1C, so I wanted to know if there is a problem if I install a firmware for other country/service. Will I still be able to make calls, text, etc?
Thank you for the link! However, IaguCool' s Xperifirm stopts working whenever I select a region/carrier firmware :/

yes, you can install any firmware, it will always start with choosing the language you want to use and just follow the setup guide.
If Xperiafirm stops working after it has opened, then it is being blocked by firewall, or you didn't install Java

Flash baseband on Z1C Amami

Hi,
I've a Z1 Compact running on latest version of CM 12.1.
Now I wonder if there's the chance to flash a new version for baseband?
In the settings I see I'm still on version 39 (8974-AAAAANAZQ-10270045-39).
I know there's the possibility to return to Stock Firmware thus updating also the baseband (currently version 81 in latest stock version 14.6.A.1.236 / R5D, for O2 Germany)
I've already downloaded Stock firmware (via XperiFirm.exe) and checked if dedicated flashable baseband file is contained, but I couldn't identify one.
So installing stock firmware and flashing back to Cyanogenmod is quite a huge efford for only updating the baseband version.
Is there an easier way to do so? Is there a source where to download an up to date baseband file?
Thanks and regards,

Look in 'exclude' box in Flashtool. I'm pretty sure there is a 'baseband' option. So, what you would do is open Flashtool, click flash, (), then select your ftf, then check every box in 'exclude' except baseband.
Yes, what @Level1 said should work.
I _think_ though, that the value of the baseband version is hardcoded somewhere. In that case, it doesn't actually reflect the version that really is installed on your phone.
This is what I seem to remember at least. Could be a different phone I am thinking about
You could make a nandroid of your current ROM, then flash the one with your desired baseband/modem and install this app:
http://www.apkmirror.com/apk/wanam/...ackup-1-5-2-android-apk-download/#description
in order to make a backup of modem1 and modem2 something (it's been a while and I don't remember the specifics, but it's quite simple - do some reading first..), then restore nandroid and install app mentioned above and restore modems.
I recommend not to do it if you don't experience any problem with your current setup..
anything doesn't work!
Good evening guys...
I have a very big trouble with my xperia Z1 C6903.
I bought a motherboard from china. Unfortunately the little yellow men sent me a locked MB, which didn't work with playstore and showing any other problems.
I decided to flash my phone with an Italian ROM ( i live in italy) and everything seemed to work great, till the moment i realized my IMEI and BASEBAND became unknown. I tried to Reflash (using Flashtool) a lot of ROMS, included the chines one, but any of them restored my baseband and IMEI.
After 2 days of work now I've restored:
- IMEI
- WI FI MAC
- S.N.
But I can't restore baseband.
Each firmware i'd tried to download and flash didn't restore the baseband, so I ask to you:
- IS THERE A WAY TO FLASH THE ONLY BASEBAND?
- DO YOU HAVE A COMPLETE FIRMWARE? neither on xperifirm i can find it.
Plz help me before i decide to reperi it with gasoline and flamethrower.
