EDIT - Thank You everyone for the suggestions. I bought a pair Skull Candy ears phones for Rs.1199. their is a significant increase in quality and the bass the really great. Never the less thanks for the suggestions....
PS. The skull candy headphones I mentioned above ,which weren't as good as the sammys, were for my iPod. It must be because of that I did not get good quality output.
My stock earphone also broke, so i got myself a pair of these
http://mp4nation.net/catalog/brainwavz-m2-iem-earphones-p-390.html
The build quality is very good and the sound quality is great.
As i use those and am satisfied, i can recommend.
I tried replacing my stock earphones with an iPhone one and also a DJ headphone (just testing), but I faced terrible sound quality with both, even compared to the stock. Is there some specialty to the G3 jack connections?

Beats by dre for £23.95 and u believe these are originals ? Originals cost over 100$ so please stop promoting knock-offs.
Did you notice that the price of headphones is higher than a new Galaxy 3?
Good earphones like headphones cost money, of course u can get new earphones for under 10$ but do you really want to use them ? I was just trying to help by saying what i have and that i'm satisfied with them.
If you want cheap and very great earphones, so take the wavemaster pure.. the sound is great..
I'm one of those people that love music, so I'd recommend some average priced Sonys or Senheisers. You could probably pick up a pair of either of these for $50CAN (I don't know how much RS) but the sound quality is good on them. NEVER GET BEATS. THEY'RE EXTREMELY OVERPRICED!
sorry i came into this thread late, but skullcandy and beats headphones are way over priced and hyped so exaggerate certain parts of the sound.
the poster above was right with recommendation of sennheiser, also audio-technica are very good headphones and lower priced models can out perform other headphones at twice the price.

Hello,
I'd like to buy me a new pair of headphones (not in ear phones). I'd like this to have a mic and 3 buttons compatible with my Samsung Galaxy s2. It would be nice if it will be also compatible with other phones.
I've already looked the different Monster Beats model (nice design but performance/price not so interessing), and some other Headphones.
basing on your experience, which headphone should i pick?
best regards
elvan121
I like Skull Candy. Am a big fan of earbud styles, and these are the most comfortable I've tried of that kind and come with 3 sizes of buds to customize if you need to. Good price point. Many models also have a volume control for the headphone on the cord line - something I always look for. And I find they have good bass to boot. Just my opinion though.
You can buy the skull candy hesh 2.0 and comes detachable cord. And you can buy this htc cable with remote all three buttons work on galaxy s 2
Here is link for both of them :

I can recommend Sennheiser and Beyerdynamic headphones.
PLEASE, dont buy skullcandy(same for wesc, urbanears, beats by Dr.dre). The sound is horrible and the buildquality sucks. You can get way better headphones for that price! Get Sennheiser CX300 f.ex., they sound quite nice and the price is pretty fair. I would also recommend you to buy a pair of klipsch S4, pretty unknown but they have a brilliant sound!

FTFY. IMO, Beats are overpriced and overrated.

Which headphones are u using?
because the ones i m using are cool enough ..the pmx 60
take Sennheiser HD228 its a cheap and great audio
steelseries. hehehe
I still couldn’t figure out all the fuss about $100 or so headphones vs average $20-$40 headphones. I don’t listen much of the music but when I do they pretty much sound the same to me..I don’t see much differences between lets say ones costing a lot and cheaper one. Only the way they feel in your ear is what I noticed..anyhow start with cheaper version and see how it goes is what I would say..
Sennheiser...
i'm not comfortable to wear standard headphone designs so i'm stuck with BH-503
beats earphones are best
I have read posts on loads of sites for the past week.. Had a pair of soundmagic e10's.. Brilliant sound if a little uncomfortable but for 35 quid... Brilliant. Also had a pair of sennys cx300ii... Ok not brilliant but had a good fit and not bulky. But just got my girlfriend to order me some klipsch s4i for my birthday.. Hoping for soundmagic sound with a really good fit. Seems to be what people are saying and for 60 quid its the most I would pay for earphones
Sent from my awesome S3.
I have S4i and find the bass to muddy out vocals a bit. The highs are also not superb, but other than that, very enjoyable earphones. I do prefer my Shure SE215's in all aspects, though. Of you could find those for the same price, like I did, I'd expect you to be happier with the Shure.
I've bought HTC One X three weeks ago and im very happy with it. Now I'm looking for a good headset to improve music quality. I've been thinking about getting a Beats Audio Solo HD, because I thought they would give me the best experience considering HTC One X comes with Beats Audio chipset and they look very stylish and smaller/lighter comparing to other Beats Audio models. Is there anyone confirm that my choice is correct, considering price/performance ratio? I've read many reviews but im confused now as everyone have different expectations (some say sound is muddy, bass is overpowered which causes mid's and hi's to be lost, some say they're not comfortable after 10 minutes of wearing and of course overpriced for such a headset and there are better alternatives in the market). What I look forward in a good headset after good audio quality and looks is noise isolation. I take a lot of bus rides so don't want to make everyone listen to my music Thanks in advance!
Beats = way too much bass and overpriced
Warning ! The Beats solo HD is totally overpriced !
I am quite an audiophile, play some instruments and listen to a LOT of different styles of music (electro, hip-hop, rock, etc.)
The only and unique reason you would like to buy a Beats solo HD is for the look (if you like shiny and cheap plastic)
If you're looking to improve music quality, forget about Beats headphones and try some sony, sennheiser, akg, beyerdynamic, audio technica..
My actual headphones headphones are AIAIAI TMA-1 and they are just AWESOME, a lot of bass with crispy end clear high and decent mid, removable jack cable, great design (personal) for around 200$ here in Switzerland. They were hard to find, but I love the fact that nobody wears the same in the streets (people all have iPhone 4s + Beats studio here )
Anyway if you want to keep it simple just grab a 70-100$ Sony bass headset and you will have a much better headset as the solo HD for half the price. :good:
I have Solo HD and they are just awsome ! And with music MOD's are even louder and have more bass ! I know the price is big but I highly recommendate them !
I also have the Beats Solo HD. They´re sounds excellent! Not so expensive I think.....in Germany 159€ only.
I wouldn't go anywhere near Beats products. Bass is overpowering to the point that the mids and highs are distorted (in my experience with a few of them), so if you're looking for clean audio or even discernible mids or highs, stay far far away from Beats.
in what genre of music Beats Audio fails to at? this "distortion" seems to be changing from person to person... everyone has different taste of music after all
lol at the hypes over the beats headphones. From most music professionals point of view, beats is clearly overpriced for its price range, as there are plenty of better ones available. You should shop around and see what your ear is most comfortable with, not following the sheep. And no, the beats audio on HOX is merely just another marketing hype. Having a pair of beats headphone around will not make your headphone sound better.
I bought the Beats Solo HD (for three days). what a bad sound.
Now I have the Beyerdynamic DT 501 p
If you looking for a headset see "Beyerdynamic, AKG, Senheiser, Bowers & Wilkins, ...."
there are many good manufactories .. for a less price then the beats and a better quality
I prefer in-ear headphones, they sound more natural. Anyway, I have a Beats Tour and a Sennheiser IE60. The second is much better! I know it is more expensive but it is just another level of quality. If you like in-ear and wanna spend 250 bucks, just get it, you won't be disappointed.

Well I ended up buying the AKG Q460 Quincy Jones on ear head phones for $200 au dollars. Yes they are designed for apple however I purchased the headset button controller app and it works. FF, RWD, customisable button functions. Only the centre button works. But the sound quality is awesome.

The beats are the apple products of the headphone world. Overpriced, status symbol.
I bought a pair of Dr. Dre Beats in-earphones and its the best quality music I've heard through earphones on the one x. Having the double Beats experience FTW

Yeah, I really don't get why people buy Beats earphones when £30 Sennys or Ajays... or even Sonys sound better! If you really want to spend £150 on headphones, try a brand who depend on the quality of their product rather than hype and a celebrity endorsement... Shure or Etymotics, or something like that... everybody has different taste and perceptions, but the fact remains that Beats are a terrible value proposition. There's a world of choice out there
So I love the Z3 Music a lot. Some headphones are just too weak, or not loud enough. This Z3 with the capability of playing High-res music is outstanding. Together with walkman app. It is truly a high-res music playing device.
My advise: Look for some headphones with higher DB or sensitivity 103+ db, and lower impedance < 16 ohm (ohm) I have been collecting headphones for a while now. Different tastes, genres, style. The two that I like the most here are
JVC HA-FX40. This can be purchased online from reputable retailer. I like Adorama. This is a bassy headphones with clear mid, and clear high. It does need some extended burn in hours. Recommended 100 hours
ATH-IM70. This too can be purchased online from reputable retailer. This is also a bassy headphones with great details and extensions + imagine. This can beat many headphones in the 2-3 x price range. The best thing = it sounds very natural, and organic.
Both of those above headphones can provide quiet an ear piercing volume with your Xperia Z3 and an Amp is not needed. Especially the ATH-IM70. The ATH-IM50 is also good, and much cheaper, but is with ways more bass.
A bonus about the IM70/50 = removable cables. You can buy cables with inline mic for calls and control from lunashops.
If any of you have any better headphones, please recommend them here. :good:
The next thing you would want = to find your high-res FLAC music files. Good luck guys

Yours came with these? Arg, jealous! I plan on buying these.
New z3c owner and really pleased with the sound quality. I'm using Soundmagic E30's which give a really clean, crisp reproduction. Not the strongest bass but that's obviously a matter of preference. I'm sure there's better headphones out there for home listening but I run a lot so need something which can cope with the elements, as well as weight too much or not fall out.
Specs:
Driverynamics 9mm Neodymium Driver
Frequency range:15Hz~22KHz
DC Resistance:12±10%Ohms
Sensitivity:94±2dB at 1KHz/mW
Also sounding great on the X-Mini II portable speaker. Have not been this happy with a purchase in a long while!
Huge soundmagic fan. The ES18 and E10 are both great. ES18 are a steal at their price. I love my E10M but doubt the remote will be fully compatible with the Z3c, so I'll probably have to give the Xiaomi Piston 2.1's a try.

For me the best headphones:
Monitor ATH-M50X http://eu.audio-technica.com/en/products/product.asp?catID=5&subID=39&prodID=4596
Portable ATH-CKR10 http://eu.audio-technica.com/en/products/product.asp?catID=5&subID=38&prodID=4668
Actually the ATH-50MX signature is almost the same as ATH-IM70. Also, if I don't mistaken the 50M is 38 ohm, while the IM70 is only 10 ohm. You can drive the IM70 on the Z3 without the need of an amp. I, and other headfi-ers since had refer to IM70 as the portable version of 50M.
CKR-10, I have never tried, but very interested in it review. Let me know if you have had that chance
Not trying to drop a bomb in here or something.
I use the ATH-M50 and the BRAINWAVZ M1 IEM, but in my opinion no matter what ear/headphones you use they will never sound REALLY good without Viper4Android.
For now that's the only thing that I'm missing on my non rooted phone.
I must say that the sound comes close when I use the ATH-M50 with the Fiio E11k headphone amp, but it still feels as if something is missing.
So once we can root our phone without losing our DRM stuff I'd suggest everyone to look into Viper4Android
If you think Clear audio makes the phone sound nice, you'll be blown away by Viper4Android :good:
I've not found the volume is too low at all. I primarily use Westone 3 earphones and the volume is usually at about 50%. However, I'm spoiled by normally using them with a Meridian DAC so the Z3c sounds a bit flat by comparison even with the Westones' sparkly high-end and punchy bass. I might try getting a OTG cable and see if I can get my Meridian Explorer DAC to work with the Z3c.
I dropped $50 for the Sony noise-canceling headphones that work with the Xperia Z series. They're fantastic. By far the best in-ear headphones I've ever used. Comfortable and the noise canceling really does work.

I've been curious about these. They are the NC31's (or whatever they're called) right?
Two questions:
1) when u put them in, and noise canceling is on with no music or anything, what does it sound like? Is everything muffled or just really quite but u can still understand people or what?
2) what's the bass like? I listen to a lot of electronic music, good bass is essential. Not just deep, but clear and without distortion.
Thanks

1. If you choose the right size of the earbuds, everything is extremely quiet even if you do not actually connect the headphones. Connecting them and turning on the noise cancelling feature just makes it more silent, as it muffles and cancels out the remaining sounds. A person standing next to you and talking to you (not screaming, of course) can't be understood, unless you read his lips.
2. Never had any distortion with all kinds of music, even with high (too high) volume. Of course, we're talking about lossless tracks. I can't vouch for MP3s.
Cheapo is best
I think that reading everyone's comments about different phones my view is it is all down to the great Z3 sound system and that even some of the cheapest pair of in ear phones can give a brilliant and clear sound.
Myself i don't like to much heavy base.
If you go into the settings on your z3 make sure you have ticked to use the Clear Audio+ and Dynamic normalizer also tick Hi-res audio via USB and under headphones general you can pick up to 6 Sony Types to choose.
I personally use a cheap pair over the ear type and they have a great sound. They are not a closed type as i like to hear whats going on around me when outside. I always listen Pink Floyd,Joe Satriani,Steve Vai,Tangerine Dream etc,etc

Several reviews that I've read online for the Sony MDR-NC31EM noise cancelling headset have pointed out poor in-call performance (bad mic, bad mic position, and no call button). Can you guys with this headset speak about the call functionality please? My z3c shows up tomorrow, and I'm guessing that I'll be in the market for a headset to go along with it. Cheers.
Edit: Also, how is the OEM headset that comes with the phone (D5803)?
Does anybody have some experience with AKG Y50? What do you think about those headphones?
Guys, I bought the US HTC 10, so it came with no headphones.
Which ones do you recommend? I'm really interested in the Sennheiser CX 5.00 but I'm not sure if they're going to take advantage of the DAC. WHat other recommendatios do you have?
Thanks in advance.
I got the HTC "hi-res" earphones as I'm in Europe. They're very good for a bundled pair and I thought they were too bassy but then I set up a audio profile for them listening to frequencies and they sound fine. That function actually works!
I haven't listened to the cx 5.00 for a while but as far as direct experience on the HTC 10, I'm pleased with
-Sony EX650ap, same price range, quite a nice, refined sound.
-Sennheiser HD25 i-ii, sounds just lovely, get deafeningly loud but twice the price and not an iem...
-UE 700 really takes advantage of the dac, so maybe another dual driver like the Xiaomi Hybrid or One More?
This phone is even able to drive my HD600s to acceptable levels. I'm tempted to hang on to my Tidal hi-fi account after the trial ends.
Original ones...
Sent from quite brutal hTc 10 ..
The original earphones are very good for a bundled earphone but aren't really anything special in the grand scheme of things. Those Sennheisers will probably be a decent upgrade. Otherwise, there are plenty of options available online; the HifiMan RE-400 was just on sale for $60, the Shozy Zero can commonly be found for the same price and offers a bassier alternative. The Xiaomi Pistons earphones are also very good and extremely cheap, the Pistons 3 go for around $15 whilst the triple driver hybrid "pro" model is around $25, both are an absolute steal.
I've got some Bose Soundlink over ear headphones and the sound is immense...
Shure SE215

Too bad we didn't get aptx HD for those times when I can't use wired cans.
Sony MDR7506 with 24 bit flac of Miles Davis' Kind of Blue.
I'm using the B&O H7, which sound great too me. Was using the Beats Studio 2 before that. The sound quality was decent but it was lacking deep bass.
HTC has always seem to nail it in the audio department.
Sennheiser m2
Wired. No Bluetooth.
Still have to finish burn in with the original htc in ear but I already don't like them, too bassy! I do really love the Zero Audio carbo tenore, they are worth a lot more than the price they're asking for!
AF45m By Audiofly with Vyper4Android FX... Sound Is Very Very Good
Just paid $20 for Xiaomi In-ear Hybrid Earphones Pro. Triple drivers and they sound great!
I use Westone W40. All cool)
I'm using my old HTC8 Harmon Kardon ear buds for mobile use and Sennheiser Momentum 2 over the ear, corded headphones for home use. Both sound nice with this phone but the Sennheisers are my favorite. Being a decent set of over the ear headphones with a lower impedance, means this phone has more than enough power to get them sounding nice without a stand alone amp. I listen to a wide variety of music but they do a good job. Real comfortable and nice build quailty

They're definitely becoming renowned for it, which is great because I think most manufacturers see it as an afterthought. The bundled Hi-Res earphones are so freakin' good.
