[Q] SM-T211 software update 12-2-13???

Hey guys and gals,
Has anyone got notified about a software update for the SM-T211today? I'm running the pre rooted Odin ROM and was wondering if anyone knows what's in the New update? Did we get kit kat?
Thanks.
Bump bump!
The file size is 118.92mb and it keeps notifying me about a software update. I want to update, but don't want to lose root. Anyone know what this update entails?
This update is really good.. Now my Tab 3 (SM-T211) is so smooth and transparent status bar has been improved a lot.. I got that ota update which is about 84MB (Indian 4.1.2 Firmware)
Hopefully, we will get KitKat 4.4 for Tab 3 (T211 model) soon..

Anyone got stock kernel for t211 ?
Dont worry about root. Without pre rooted in thread tab 3 7 Android development you can see about rooting

Quick Question!
i have 4.1.2 in my galaxy tab 3 T211, is it the latest firmware release? please confirm
Just to confirm, if we are pre rooted with odin, and if we do the update, will we loose root?
UPDATE: I went ahead and did the update. I DID LOOSE ROOT, but the device seems to respond much quicker.
Yes,i just lost my root, starting from zero now

Kitkat & root

Hi all
I'm new in the tab forum so feel free to move this thread or let me know if it's posted in the wrong section.
Anyway, I just got me a tab 3 8" that's.running 4.2. Since kitkat seems to be coming soon I'm wondering if it's still possible to root if I update?
If not, which is the latest stock software I can use if I want root?

Hey bro , u can root after updating your tab to kitkat . It depends on the developers . They will most probably create a root.zip and a new recovery soon after the tab recieves kitkat .

Hi, and welcome to xda
First if you want to upgrade from 4.2.2 you'll need to consider a custom rom, which requires root access. Read this thread by @arco68 -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2398143
Once you read it, you can decided if that is what you want to do and read more about roms etc in android development.
