With the Note 3 you can hold the power button for 10+ seconds and the phone will restart. This was great for using custom roms where the phone froze. Is there a way to do this on the Note 4?
The power button doesn't seem to do it.

On my gs2 I could hold down the power button for 10 seconds and it would do a hard reset without doing a battery pull.
This doesn't seem to be the case with the Note 2.
Is there a different combination of buttons that need to be pressed to make this happen?

Just got my phone today and I already hate the damn T-Mobile boot screen.
Anyways I came from the Vibrant (SGH-T959) and I rooted it myself but for some reason I can't get into download mode with the Note 2 (SGH-T889).
I've tried the Home + Down Key + Power nothing.
I've tried the Home + Up Key + Power...nothing
I've tried turning USB debugging mode on and off + Home + Down Key + Power and I still get nothing.
I don't think I'm that stupid as I've tried the Home + Down Key + Power 4 times over and I still get nothing.
I've tried it with ODIN running and with ODIN not running.
I've tried it with a different mico USB cable and still got nothing.
My Home/Down/Power key's do work.
BTW I have the device fully powered down when trying any of these options ie soft menu and pulling the battery.
are you holding all 3 buttons until after the samsung splash screen? The first couple times i tried it I let go too soon.
Oky power off completely take the battery out, Put it back in then hold power + volume down + home at the same time and don't let go until u see the download mode.

Thanks Guys.
There's definitely a twist to it. Otherwise, there's always adb reboot download or a jig.
Just recently my power button stopped working. I pushed the button to use my phone and it did nothing. For about five minutes pressing the power button did nothing. I had to press and hold up and power button to restart. Is working fine now but What I would like to know is why did this happen? How can I prevent something like this occurring?

I've noticed mine has done the same thing a couple of times since I've gotten it. In my case I think the phone hot boots, maybe you have the same case

Same issue but no case and it wasn't hot. I think it might be software related. Waiting a few minutes and holding the button for 30 seconds finally allowed it to boot.

I've experienced this just once with the same result. Power button + volume up resolved it.
I had same issue pre-root and vol up and power fixed the issue. No power button issue since.

hold the power button at the same time as holding volume up button.... hold both for a few seconds might take as long as 8 seconds
will put you in fastboot mode....(if it doesnt go into fastboot that way can hold power button until screen turns off then quickly hold volume up until fastboot comes on)
once in fastboot tap volume down twice (slowly allow a slight pause between presses) then pres the powere button and you will be in recovery

I can't even get my phone to the fastboot screen. Ive held down vol up and power. Vol down and power. All 3. I'm really at a loss. Any ideas before I just get a replacement? Also, my headphone jack has seemed to stop working along with my power button.

Hold the power button for about 20-30 seconds. It'll force power it off, then hold the power button for about 5 seconds to turn it on.
