No PIT Partition...Help please - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Yesterday my phone suddenly got on boot loop so I decided to flash stock rom but then it failed halfway.
Now whenever I try to on my phone it shows ''Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again'' and when i try to flash stock rom it says ''no pit partition'' when i got my hand on pit file it says ''repartition operation failed'' after ''set pit file''

[Q] Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recovery mode in Kies & try
I don't really know what is wrong with my phone, but I think it is bricked. I have the following message on my phone. "Firmware upgrade encountered an issue. Please select recover mode in Kies & try again."
At the very top left, it says:
Odin Mode
Product name: sgh t-989
custom binary download: no
current binary: samsung official
I'm currently using ODIN 1.85 and I've followed the two following guides:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1374868 (Odin method)
I have followed the steps of getting to the warning screen, press up to get it into download mode. From there I went on my computer, opened ODIN on administrator, selected PDA, browsed to the tar.md5 file and started it. It says, "NAND write start", then it says "Complete(Write) operation failed."
I dont know what else to do at the point. Can someone please help me? I have the samsung usb drivers on my computer, kies, odin 1.85 and the 565mb md5 file on my computer.

N7100 stuck on Samsung Screen

Please please can someone help?
I'll start at the beginning; I have a galaxy note 2 (n7100) in the UK, unlocked for use on any network. I have had this phone from new.
I rooted the phone about a year ago and installed twrp recovery I also installed a script that would allow me to swap the internal memory with the external memory.
Everything has been fine for about 8 months and then the other day I went to switch on my phone and it froze on the screen where I put my pin number in, I didn’t think much about it and turned the phone off & on, but now it just sits at the “Samsung galaxy note 2” screen.
I have booted into twrp and that is telling me there is “No Operating system installed”, it also will not allow me to browse the external SD card.
I have tried to reflash the stock rom using ODIN and everything appears to work and I get the “PASS” sign up, but the phone refuses to boot!!
Also when I boot into twrp it asks me to enter a password, I have never set a password so I'm baffled as to what this is?
And one last thing is that when I plug the phone into the charger with the phone switched off, the battery symbol appears on the screen but it just has a little circle in the battery and doesn’t show the battery charging animation.
I have just tried to flash a PIT file and now can no longer get into TWRP recovery, it seems to be going from bad to worse.
Please can someone help?

why did you use a pit file? anyway. if you flashed stock with odin there souldn't have been remained any TWRP.
reflash without pit file. after that boot in stock recovery and wipw data/factory reset. phone should boot up.
if all fails, (jope not) use this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2088809

i used pit file as last resort, i have tried everything else, i was thinking the same as you in that if i flashed custom rom then it should be custom recovery, ODIN says passed when its finished but something is obviously going wrong somewhere.
Thanks
Pete
i have tried the link you suggested but the phone wont connect with Kies, i have all the drivers installed but still wont connect
Well even though ODIN says its flashing and passed its not working, i have just tried for the 3rd time flashing a stock ROM, it said it had passed but its still booting into TWRP, and i cant do anything from within TWRP, firstly it ask for my password, if i press cancel then it goes to the main screen, but that's it.
if i look in the log file it just keeps saying
E: unable to find partition size for boot
E: unable to find partition size for recovery
etc
also
Unable to mount /efs
Unable to mount /cache
Unable to mount /system
etc

no we are getting crossed wires, your original link sent me to download a rescue package from Hotfile, this no longer works.
but i managed to find another link further in the post that did work, i downloaded that and tried it but still had no success.
i have now downloaded your file from 4shared, and when i try and add all the various parts into Odin and click start, i get a message saying "Failed", this happens almost instantly.
any suggestions?
Pete

1. Try to flash the stock firmware.
2. If it bootloops, try to access recovery.
3. If didn't work, try to flash custom recovery such as philz touch
4. Try factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik cache.
Let us know if it works

Have you even read what he wrote? He did all those things but despite Odin reporting success, nothing in the phone was altered.
@peter7769 - what Odin version are you using? Is it started as Administrator? What is the driver version that is reported in Device Manager when you connect the phone? Can you uninstall Kies and try again to flash Samsung firmware (not custom one)?

Thanks, like you said i have tried everything that iamjerbergerber suggested and nothing works,
i have tried using ODIN 3.07 & 3.09 as admin, what am are looking for in the device manager?, i can only see SAMSUNG Mobile USB CDC Composite Device listed under USB controllers, and SAMSUNG Mobile USB Modem listed under modems.
i have already tried the stock firmware which i got from SAMmobile but still no joy, i have been reading up that people said something has happened to the read/write permissions and that is why nothing is being flashed to the phone, though i cant understand why ODIN reports a PASS, as soon as i flash and go into TWRP is firstly asks for my password (never set one!) and then tells me no operating system installed.
Pete
Also i do get failed messages on ODIN when i try to flash anything but the PDA & PIT File Boxes.
Just trying to give you as much info as i can.

Just flashed stock firmware, all passed but same result

From the listing you provided, the Odin behaves well. What happens after it reboots the system (Auto reboot and F.reset time are enabled, yes?)
Does the first window at the top print PASS! on green color with time underneath?
As I understand you tried to flash recovery with Odin? Could you try Philz recovery flashable from Odin, can be downloaded from HERE
You know, this message from TWRP stating that it can't locate partitions may mean you flashed an invalid PIT file...
Attached is a PIT file I have used in times of 4.1.2 firmware flash when I hosed my system.
Also PIT can be flashed ONLY with full system flash or you may loose EFS (along with IMEI) and that would be a disaster without correct backup.

Thanks again for the help so far, firstly yes auto reboot is enabled and the other one, when the phone reboots it just sticks on the Samsung GT-N7100 screen and doesn't move, yes the window is green with PASS on it, although i cant recall seeing a time.
as for the driver it says driver date 02/01/2014 and version 2.11.7.0
i will try the pit file and philz recovery in a while as im just updating some stuff on the pc.
i will report back with the results.
Pete
Hi
one question i forgot to ask, when i flash the pit file do i have a tick in the Re-partition box, or should i leave it blank?
Thanks again

[Q] Tab pro 12.2 stuck in bootloop

Hi everyone!
My Galaxy tab pro (SM-T900) is stuck in bootloop. More precisely I can see the first Samsung galaxy tab pro screen but it restart before the samsung animation.
The tab was initially with official rom rooted with CF-Auto-Root-v2wifi-v2wifixx.
I have already tried several things without significative improvement.
At first I tried to reinstall with Kies. Kies says my version is: PDA:NB5/CSC:NB2 (XEF). But after the window asking to reboot in download mode kies stops saying my device can not be recovered. I have read it could be due to a discrepancy of CSC or things like that between Kies and the Tab.
Recovery mode says:
Odin mode
Product name: SM-T900
Current binary: Official samsung
System status: Custom
KNOX waranty void: 1
RP SWREV: A1
My Knox flag was turned to 1 and I don't know how to set System status back to official.
I have also downloaded the stock ROM XEF from Sammobile and flashed it with odin 3.09. The process goes smoothly but the tab doesn't boot.
Even after a wipe (data/factory reset and cache) in recovery mode.
In recovery mode I could not install Cyanogenmod or other Zip files. The process stop during the package verification and says:
E:footer is wrong
E:signature verification failed
I flashed a TWRP 2.8 to try with a different recovery but again the Zip are not installed.
Have you any idea or any direction to investigate?
Thank you
If ur tab is US version then u have to flash XAR(cellular south) available through sammobile through odin and then let tab update itself after reboot. U will loose root

Actually my tab is from France so XEF version is the most adapted.
I think flashing a different version would be rejected. Right?
Yes it can brick too

You can flash any ROM as long as it is for SM-T900. The builds may have different apps, keyboards, and WiFi connectivity can be an issue due to WiFi channels being slightly different for each region.
The thing is that flashing zip in recovery mode leads to the error: footer is wrong.
Is there any log file I could read to find where the boot process loops?
If dodo99x is right u can flash xar version which is for usa and flash it through odin

As tar.md5 files doesn't have exactly the same size, I wonder if it is necessary to check Re-partition in Odin.
Never ever touch repartition. Super dangerous if you don't have the correct .pit file to recreate them. Those sound like bad downloads. You can also try to use a different usb cable and usb port on your pc.
I have successfully downloaded and installed the last rom stock revision for France: T900XXUANI1_T900XEFANI2_XEF
But I'm still stucked in Bootloop.
Other versions (XAR and XAC) still fail.
How can I get the PIT file for SM-T900?
As I can see and copy files with TWRP, is there any log file I should check to see what is wrong?
I would try wiping cache, sytem, dalvik, data and internal storage in twrp, then reinstall the france image file in Odin. This will of course erase all data you have on the tablet, but it should take you out of your bootloop. I have yet to see any valid PIT files for the SM-T900, or SM-P900. If you mess with the partitions without one, you won't even be able to flash anything in Odin afterwards.
No problem for the personnal data. I just would like to recover my tab.
I have wiped all the internal partitions: Dalvik, cache, system, internal data.
I have reboot in download mode and launched a flash of the T900XXUANI1_T900XEFANI2_HOME.tar.md5 with Odin 3.09
I also used voodoo magic!
But still the bootloop
I think the problem comes from an other partition not flashed with this process.
What other partitions are used to start Android?
Is there any log file to check?
Very unusual... try flashing cm11 for SM-T900 via TWRP. Will that one boot?
No The Cyanogen ROM doesn't boot either.
I'm still looking deeper in the boot process to identify the problem.
While I was reading this: http://en.miui.com/thread-15659-1-1.html
I just realized that the misc partition was absent from my tab.
I create an empty one and reflashed a stock rom but it doesn't solve the boot problem.
What files are usualy inside misc? Where can I find a copy of them?
At this point I would just get Samsung to fix it. Unless you can find a PIT file for ODIN...
Even with Knox value to 1 and custom Rom/kernel/recovery?
Do you think Samsung will reset my tab in those conditions?
By the way, when I look in the Boot folder with TWRP file manager, I don't see any file. The boot partition indicates an occupied size of 8Mo.
Where are those files? How can I acces to them?
Knox warranty has nothing to do with your hardware warranty. Just reflash stock rom via ODIN and send it back. Tell them you can't get it to boot, and that's it.
Do u know if u have usb debugging enabled. Maybe try booting into rom after complete wipe of all. It will probably sit on sam logo and will not boot due to no firmware and wait for few minutes and restart into download mode and flash correct firmware from sammobile. I did this in my old galaxy s 2 long long ago and it worked.

Hi,
Just a short feedback.
I finally succeed to finish the restoring process of Kies but it didn't fixed my bootloop and the Download mode indicated:
Current binary: Samsung official
System status: Custom
Knox warranty void: 0x1
I decided to return the device to Samsung (France).
3 weeks after: tadaam! Everything was fixed. Samsung changed my motherboard and battery.
No charge and no warranty void due to knox or rom modification.
I am so released
... I am now looking for a way to root the device without triggering knox
Is triangle away working with SM-T900?

To fix this try
Advanced wipe with everything ticked except recovery then try to flash zip without reboot.
Helped me on the footer issue and if this succeeds you should be able to boot.
