Is there any news on a Admin account and guest account rom for my tab.
I have it rooted, but my kid is trying to install stuff, hack, change and whatever ....
I want to prevent this.
- Is Kidz rom a good option.
- Can I add a playstore game to the kidz rom
- Is there a rom with multiple accounts.
thanks
I need this too for Tab 3 8" (T310). Any luck yet?

Ok this custom ROM is normal Kindle Fire GUI but has the PlayStore added. I need to change the account that the PlayStore uses but there is no normal system menu that allows me to add Google accounts to. In PlayStore it only lists the one Google account with no option to add an account.
How can I change the Google Account on the MoDaCo Custom ROM?
hey gameguru, Valkomen to the future, CM 10.2 roms exist, which allow you to OC your kindle (it will be much faster trust me!). Hey, android 4.x is nicer than the stuffy old unsupported 2.3
I hope you'll consider getting CM 9 to 10.2

There should be a Google Setting app or a Google Services app that let's you switch accounts and editing.

I am planning to flash PA to my old Nexus 7 (Tilapia) without gapps. The idea is to find out whether an Android device can be decoupled from Google. And whether such a device can still be used in a normal day to day scenario for surfing, mail, contacts ...
There are many apps out there which could be used instead of the apps in the gapps package (i.e. play store => f-droid, mail => k-9, chrome => firefox, maps => navit / OsmAnd, ...). And with a simple raspberry pi and owncloud also some of the google services can be replaced by an self hosted solution.
What are your thoughts on this:
- Is this possible in principle with PA?
- What should I watch out for when setting up the N7?
- Any other suggestions?
Of course you can do it. The ROM is functional without gapps

I don't know what it is you should be watching out for when trying your experiment but I believe it can be done. You'll have to use a 3rd party app store to download the apps you want to replace the stock apps with (k-9, etc). But once you start doing that, what's the point?
To prove you don't need to use Google Branded apps? Just root your device, install Titanium and freeze all the google apps. Same thing, right?
Just flashed PA without gapps. Added some great Apps from f-droid. Everything works great. Next steps will be to Conect to a dropbox server.
Currently I am getting a notification that a new system update, a new gapps version is available. Can I somehow disable in PA the check for new gapp versions?
Thanks!

Thanks Pirateghost, just found it.
I am currently running into two issues:
I installed the "920 text editor" via f-droid. But when I try to start it the app it opens for a nearly a second and then a error window says >"920 Text Editor" wurde beendet.< (I am using a German system; translation something like >"920 Text Editor" was stopped.<). Is there a log file which could provide more information why this application was not able to start?
I paired my German bluetooth keyboard (QWERTZ layout) with the nexus. But unlike to stock Android in PA they keyboard is mapped with the American layout (QWERTY layout). So some keys are not inline with the labelling. I did not find a way to change the used layout in the settings. Any ideas?
Hi,
I have installed this ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-tab-s/development/rom-pac-rom-t3103502
but the "limited user profile" account feature is unusable: After the limited user log in, he can't see the apps I have added him permissions to have.
Anyone have tried this type of account with PAC-MAN ROM?
Also, the calculator have some buttons that have overwritten text...
For now, the rest works great!!! :good:
Eric
As the title I would like to start modding for my device.
I would like to improve the performance of my n3n and "rooting" then try custom roms but i have no clear ideas with correct procedures and i ask your help on how to proceed step by step.
To flash the custom roms are the correct steps rights?
1 root
2 recovery
3 choice and flash of the rom
Bootloader for N3n is not contemplated in any thread, does it not necessary for this device?
For the rooting, flashing the recovery and trying different roms, is better start from Kitkat or Lollipop or there is no difference?
About the recovery:
What version of TWRP should i install?
Are there different versions for Kk or Lollipop of TWRP?
If i have installed TWRP on Kk can i flash rom for Lollipop or vice versa?
I misunderstood or for some "roms" do i have to flash lollipop firmware and for others kitkat firmware?
What are the best roms for:
stability and updated, performance optimization and power reserve, high customizzazion with many functions, modern look in Marshmallow or at least Lollipop style? .....i ask to much i know
My device info: Note 3 neo (N7505) with kitkat 4.4.2
I have many apps installed third-party (50) I know are too many but most are hibernated with greenefy (free).
Disabled functions:
synchronizations
samsung smart functions
always on data traffic, others toogles only lit in need '.
No brightness auto, manual setting to the minimum necessary.
Use dark backgrounds.

Is there a way to change the default file manager app without rooting or using custom rom? Xiaomi file manager has so many ads and i want to change it to google files.
i think you can remove - some of the - the ads by going to settings and disabling the "show recommandations" - chinese for show ads
there's a lot of those toggles in miui, also in the security, browser, search in the miui forum there was a guide on where to find them all.
or easier, just go for a custom rom
im not to sure you need to set it default, just install the google version from google play and open that insted of the xiaomi version.
youcant really remove it since it's ibstalled as a system app.
