HELP; dead tablet not charging - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

Hi, I'm looking for some help as my tab pro 8.4 seems dead. I'm on stock and things were working ok but after the last charge the battery didn't seem be draining much. I switched it on today and no power in the tablet, so I plugged in the charger. Now all I get is a flashing screen with the battery pic stuck at empty after hours of charging. If I unplug the charger the screen switches off but the tablet won't boot!
Any help very much appreciated. To be honest it looks rather dead me.
I've tried going into recovery but it doesn't do it!
Thanks.

Update to my previous post.
After trying two chargers which both function with all my other devices, thought I'd try the original Samsung charger....this did the trick and the tablet started charging...all is good now.

Touch Screen Issues

Has anyone else had this issue?I woke up this morning and my captivate glide was acting weird after i unplugged it from my usb.it doesnt seem to recognize when im holding or dragging something.sometimes i can click to open things but when i try to remove something from the home screen it drops it back before i can drag it to the trash can.now the funny thing is when i put it on a charger( usb or wall charger) the touch response is fine soon as i unplug it it gets finicky again.
Any input is appreciated.I will buy another battery and try that before I decide to replace the digitizer.but it was working perfectly fine till this morning.
Reboot didn't fix it? Usually the opposite of what your having happens (USB cable not being properly grounded).
Nope,reboot didn't,factory reset didn't.

I tried but nothing in the play store for screen calibration. On another note, i noticed the lower the battery gets the worse the sensitivity is.ie charging it works perfect, unplugged at 100% it works perfect but as the battery drains i can barely drag the notifications bar or an icon on the home screens.at about 50% i can click things but not drag them, and now its at 24% and working perfect.I left it on all day while at work with wifi and facebook plus other things running.Honestly i dont get it.And I've been repairing phones for a few years now.

Try: drain the battery to 50% or so, then pull the battery out and set aside for five minutes or so. Then put it all back together and start it back up. Do not plug it in until it's fully booted and you've used your phone for a while, just in case.
I have tried about everything, guess I'll buy a new battery.and if it doesnt help I will sell it.

To update it was a screen malfunction and it was still under warranty , so Samsung fixed it at no charge

it is a hardware problem, do a little research about it.. if you are lucky everything will be fine if you push the tounge in the usb port a little to the middle

if the phone shows that it is still charging while the phone is unplugged it sounds like your charging port could be going bad. as far as disabling the screen wake, try doing a google search for an app that can do it, i know the newer versions of the sourcery rom have an option to disable the screen wake on plug/unplug.
I have had the this problem as well and looked into this as possible way to deal with the problem but it really does not help the battery draining issue you are having with the screen wake while unplugging as the apps stop the full wakelock but then you will still get the partial wakelock so you get almost no deep sleep while the phone is on.
The best thing to do is just buy a new usb port and replace it, plus if you are having this issue you probably have lost usb data connectivity as well well i did when this happened. This gnex are super easy to tear down (took me about 10min to replace) and the usb port is like 4-6 dollars plus shipping, not really to much. This happens quite often on the gnex so i just bought 3 when i did it and it was all of like 14 dollars with shipping. But anyway like i said if you are thinking that just stopping the screen from waking is going to stop the massive battery drain that this causes it will not, or well it did not in my case.
Just my two cents on this wonderful usb port they have given us

[Q] Nexus 7 turns off

Hello Everyone,
I am a noob on XDA, Please correct me if i have posted in the wrong forum. I bought a new nexus 7 16gb, for some reason when the battery is around 25-30% the tablet turns off itself. Its not shutdown its like pulling the battery of a phone thats on. The only way to start it is by connecting the charger.
Has anyone else experienced this issue?
I am on the stock rom NOT rooted
Thanks

Have you charged the device to 100% yet? I would do that, leave it charging for an hour after it shows 100% then use it till it dies. Rinse and repeat.

Yes I have charged it 100% multiple times, The only difference is i use a sammy charger that outputs 0.7 amps once in a while. I dont suspect the charging thing to do this.
Are you getting normal use out of a charge? How much screen time in one charge?

Like Highfigh suggested check how long you can run on a full charge. If you get some good hours in then maybe the battery % is not reporting back properly. A reset/restore could possible resolve that issue.
I believe I am getting pretty good charge. I will try once again, I was thinking this might be something with stock rom and hence I posted it online. Thanks every one for the help

exactly the same story here. in my case it's not so easy to turn it on. it would seem like the device is completely discharged, even if it just showed some 40 % battery left. i have to wait several hours to even try to bring it back to recovery mode. very long press does nothing. it happened couple of times already. very annoying with such seemingly superb tablet. i'm not living in the us of a, so no quick replacement for me
That's bad I can turn on mine in a few minutes. Again mine happens very rarely. I also get an excellent battery life. How long does yours go on a charge.
I would also like to know if there is any kind of Logs that we can look at. It's getting irritating, did you try rooting your device to see if that might fix the problem.

I got the same problem recently, I think it was after the last update on the firmware. Everytime the battery reach around 35% it just went off.

LG G3 Bricked?

Hi,
I just bought a G3 for my wife (I still think girlfriend first and... It already bricked. After the first day of normal usage, the battery was drained so she plugged it to a wall charger. Next thing we saw was a "fastest 0xXXXXXX" small message in the upper left corner. We tried switching the phone off with the power button but it didn't work. As a last resort we removed and replaced the battery. Now the phone seems totally bricked.. No reaction when pushing on any button, or plugging in the wall charger... The screen stays off and the notification led too.
Any suggestions for unbricking the device is welcome
Ah yes I almost forgot: the charger worked with another phone and we tried another one, with a different usb cable too.
Thanks

Surely your only option is to return it. Especially if you've only had it a day.
Thank you. I'll do that

A really strange Battery/Display problem

Hey guys, my G3 worked over 2,5 years flawlessly. The last weeks, I recognized a strange behaviour of the battery. The device reboots randomly and after that it has around 15% of battery left. I thought, well, the battery is not the best anymore but works though. However, today it did that again and now my screen won't turn on. I tried all buttons combinations, charged via powerbank, laptop, original wall plug with or without battery inserted... nothing helps. Sometimes the screen goes on for a short time flickering and fading back to black. It definitely works somehow because i can access WhatsApp web and see the notification LED working. I simply don't understand if I have a really bad battery that influences the display (is it worth investing 20$ in a new one for testing?) or if both, battery and display, are dead and i should go for a new device
Greetz, deermichel
EDIT: Maybe a useful additional info: If i connect the phone with no battery inserted to power, the display backlight works. If i do the same with the battery, nothing happens at all.

Ur battery is dead, this happened to me also.

Ok, i ordered a replacement battery. Let's see if that helps... I just can't imagine why the display is affected even with the power plug connected. Hopefully, the motherboard is fine.

If the new battery doesn't help then your motherboard is dead ..
I had the same issues and I've got new motherboard.....

Ok, the new battery didnt help... So i guess its a problem of display/motherboard. I found out that it works perfectly in the fridge. Is the GPU overheating?
And why on earth do battery problems result in that?? I started an app aaaand its gone
i would just get a new phone.

Yeah, i just read a huge thread with all the stuff... Paper trick (which got it back working for now), baking, etc. But since nothing really helps, I might get the new OnePlus which will be released in some days. A sad end cause I loved my G3...
