IMEI number shows "0" - LG Optimus G Pro

Hi,
I've looked for a thread on this but couldn't find any help for my situation.
I have the LG E980 from AT&T. I went to update it and I get a "phone not registered yet" error. I've registered it through AT&T and LG both. I checked and my IMEI number is gone, only a zero there now. My phone is stock. I have never tried unlocking it, flashing, or adding any custom ROMs.
How do I get my IMEI number back into my phone? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

IMEI Change

A week ago or so i posted a message I needed information as to weather my Unlocked worked i had used all unlock it appeared to do it's stuff as you'd expect, but phone still did'nt work. Beliving it to be barred from networks i checked the IMEI number on the lable under the battery & checked the IMEI on the phone, via *#06# on the keyboard and they did'nt match, i can only presume that the number has previously been changed, so why will it not work? I would be gratfull if anyone would give me an answer
Thanks pcfix

Seems my IMEI changed while flashing. Can I restore my old IMEI somehow?

Hey all. Got a brand new Note 3 about a week and a half ago from a T-Mobile store and it stopped connecting to network last week. I've been having a back and forth with T-Mobile and I was told that my IMEI was blocked and I was told to exchange the device. I found out today that the IMEI on the phone does not match the IMEI on the box. Seems this IMEI was blocked for non payment. Can the IMEI change from flashing roms? It's it possible to restore it somehow?
Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Ok short answer, NO.
It is not possible for a rom flash to change an imei. The rom is on a completely different partition. There is a lot more work involved in changing that and a simple flash would never be able to accomplish it.
if your imei on the phone doesnt match what is on the back of the phone then you need to take it back.

Where did you buy it from?
I highly recommend you do as the carrier suggests. Take the time to go visit them and do things "above board".

Can't receive calls HELP!!

My phone number is unknown and IMEI SV is 00 but my IMEI is ok. I am using LG G3 Korean Variant. I faced this issue after performing a dirty flash rom( Fulmics 5). Through dialing 2945#*400# will give me a secret hidden Menu related to unlocking network. And all options is " this phone is permanently locked and cannot be unlocked" with dismiss button. I already flashed back to stock rom but it didn't solved my problem. My data is ok, it's fast, it is LTE.
The reason why I posted it here is seems nobody is helping me at LG G3 thread. Please. I will really love if someone could just reply me and provide me some idea. :crying:
Sorry for my english.

Wrong IMEI

I bought an G3 (D851) for the wife. IMEI (from about phone and *#06# are both the same) was clean and phone activated on T-Mobile. Worked for a couple of weeks then quit. IMEI is now blacklisted. Rechecked IMEI and it comes back to a Galaxy Note 3 N9005 that is blacklisted as lost/stolen.
So then I check the tag underneath the battery and it has a different IMEI, one that is registered to a LG G3 (D851) that checks clean.
I did not know you could spoof or change an IMEI. Is there any way to restore the original IMEI so I can use the phone?
I'm not real computer/phone literate but I did do a hard reset to no avail. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, there are tools that facilitate changing the IMEI. However, they are not very easy to use for someone who is not an expert. The IMEI can be _restored_ easily in cases where you have a backup of it. There are apps wgich do this, called EFS backup / restore apps. I believe that in order to use them that you have to be rooted.
There's a tool called QPST furnished by Qualcomm that does that sort of thing (allows changes to the IMEI).
In your case, you can look for someone who has professional tools to do it. I sent my VS985 to a guy I found through eBay who charged $37 to restore the IMEI which just came up blank after I flashed CloudyG3 v2.5, which wiped out the IMEI. BTW, don't flash that ROM on any G3 unless you have a backup of the modem (EFS) data.
The guy who did the work for me is in Carrollton TX. If you want to do something like that, PM me. I can look for his contact info.

Can I input IMEI # ?

I have my IMEI only, sent it to ATT for unlocking, and am wondering if this is a way of imputing the number directly.
Background and have tried
Bootloader is unlocked as is phone.
I have tried methods for getting update to see if IMEI is recovered, same with pixel experience method. My issue with them I think is that I recently ported my number to another service, so I have a sim card that will not connect and not get IMEI number from carrier..
Any solutions you know or can point me towards would be great.
