hello ,
i've bought the desire 816 2 months ago and i started using CM11 the unofficial 4.4.4 version two weeks ago
and from one week i started using mount2ext and moved everything but system apps , libraries and dalvic to the the sd card
everything was fine till this morning the alarm ranged ( i left the phone in the electricity the day before ) so i stopped it removed the phone from charging and went out for an hour while the phone is home . when i'm home the phone is dead. i can't power the device i tried the power bottom , power + vol up + vol down , power + vol down and nothing happened ! the screen won't even open. also i tried charging it and even the light of charging didn't light. the only place when the i knew it's somehow alive is when i connected the phone to pc and try to power it the pc says unknown device and also nothing happens.
any ideas ?
I had the same problem a month ago, i pressed power + volum up for 15 seconds and the device rebooted normaly to cm11

Hi, My wife's DHD has some wierd issue that I can't figure out. Yesterday she could not switch the mobile on. After pressing power button phone vibrates 3 times and orange led flashing forever. Tried to take the battery out but no luck. Sometimes it vibrates 5 times and green led flashing. I managed to go to recovery (custom one) after few hours. I wiped battery stats (that was first thing that came to my mind) but that didn't work. Restarted and same thing again...Few hours later I managed to enter to recovery again and from there I decided that I'm going back to stock so I downloaded Official RUU. Installation went fine, Booted fine, restarted and same thing again! It's not easy to turn back on, takes plenty of tries. Once is on it's fine but We have difficulties to turn it on. Is it battery ? MB ? Any suggestions ?
Thanks
Hi when a htc phone doesn,t turn on and vibrates in a pattern its usualy hardware related problem, if it is vibrating 7 times it is mainboard or cpu related (might be because of overheating) if it is one long vibration or three i think it is battery related, so if you can try changing the battery (stock battery no china stuff) try to flash a reliable rom like leedroid or cm7 if you can, and afterwords if it is ok flash a new radio, this might be a problem since roms change the RIL.
If you want to try something else pull battery out, put the phone in a plastic bag put it in the freezer for about 30-45 minutes, take it out leave it 10 minus to warm up than put battery back and see if it boots up
Hi, thanks for your reply.
When I press power button it vibrates 3 times and orange led flashing. When I press power button + volume down it vibrates 5 times and green led flashing. I have managed to boot up and it's up and running since yesterday. If I leave it on its fine. Well if it something wrong with battery why I can run it and charge it ? Don't really get it because it has been on for 24h and no issues until I restart it ? Wierd

I just had the same experience , did you menaged to repair it somehow. ?
Hi guys, need some help, rooted and installed slimbean just 2 days ago and everything was going great.
Pulled my phone out of my pocket today and the screen wont come on. Captive buttons come on and off with each press of the power button.
Holding down the power button reboots phone (captive butons flash and phone vibrates) but still same problem and tried getting into bootloader but not 100% sure that its going into it as same symptoms as before.
Tried hooking up to a few computers at work and it just says USB drivers failed to install as problem with USB device.
LED still lights up for charging.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance for your help.
How long was it in your pocket for? Is it possible the battery has run out? If so then there is always the possibility the juice running out coincided with an error. It might mean you need to try the batch files to charge your phone?

Last time i looked at the phone about 15min earlier i had about 25%
Has been on charge for about 30 min and now i only get the LED, captive don't light up, doesn't seem to reset when holding the power button.
hi
i recently installed JellyBean - JELLYTIME for DHD.İ succsesfully installed the rom and i used it for two day. After that i setted up the alarm to go to work and at the morning it was ringing but the sound level was very very poor.İ looked the screen it was not opening.Than i take out battery and powered on again it was not working.Only vibrating one time.İ thought that the battery is empty because of it.İ connected the charger and there isnt any red indicator on the phone it is not working.İ tried with different battery different charge.Take out battery for 30 mins but it doesnt change it is not working.Only when i press the power it is vibrating and 2 minute later vibrating again and nothing.Sometimes i am hearing a sound like the battery level is low something like that but nothing else. How can i solve this problem??

Got the same after flashing Jellytime R25. Maybe not battery issue since I've tested with my spare batteries to no avail. This happened right after successfully flashing and rebooting from CW Recovery.
EDIT: found one link that mention the volume being shorted hence it wont boot. suggested it ribbon connector. Did that and it now boots. Goodbye volume rocker. http://www.frameworktraining.co.uk/hdfixed/

i am reading reading but cant find the solution still not working what to do((((doesnt anybody know the solution
Only thing I can say.
Put in the power cable and try to start with volume down and power.
Hold it for some time till it vibrates.
A friend had a new HTC One V and got this also. I solved it by trying the above.
First times it did not worked. Only after some tries.

can you get into fastboot?
So my HTC One V suddenly got hanged when I was using it. I pressed power button once instead of holding it so the screen was locked. However when I pressed it again to unlock, nothing happened. Holding down power button doesn't work either to reboot. The low bat orange LED is blinking though but nothing else. In my previous phones I would just take out the battery & put it again but this isn't possible with this phone. Please post any suggestions.
I am using this custom ROM: ShenDuOS-v4.1.2-130607-Primou.
Any urgent response would be most welcome. I am worried about it. I tried taking sim & memory card but it didn't worked to wake up phone. Tried calling my One V from another phone but no avail. Please help!

It didn't work. I had to wait for few hours. When the battery drained off completely it forced to power off. Then I was able to switch my phone on after charging. Still I think there might be some other method to resolve such problem instead of waiting for hours for battery to end.

I saw a suggestion in another thread that supposedly worked. Pull out the Sim card. Not sure why it does
So its died a day ago and i tried to charge it all day from yesterday and nothing happened.
But, 10 min ago I read that I should tried to connect it to my pc, and i pressed the power button and the volume down and when I did, my pc told me that its installing drivers.. (like most of the time when you plug USB device to your pc) but its failed..
is there any way to revive my phone?
Are you sure its dead. Do you see the charging indicator light up whilst charging? The HOX has a history of dead display so it might be that.

Same Here
Hey same thing happened with my HTC One X today too. Installed a new Custom ROM which was working perfectly fine untill I drained the battery completely. Now the phone wont charge, nor respond to any combination of keys I press.
Any clue?
And is this what is referred to as bricking?
