No encryption possible
Hi SilviuMik,
thank you for your 4.4.2 firmware version. I flashed your firmware according to your instruction, installed my apps etc.
Then I wanted to encrypt my GT-I9192, wallpluged it, battery charged to 100%. After entering the passphrase, the phone rebooted and showed the android logo. It appears for a minute and the phone reboots without being encrypted.
Can anybody confirm this behavior or give me a clue what went wrong?

Hello,
Can I install your latest Russian version from 30.10.14 over official 4.4.2 I9192XXUCNJ3 Russian version using ODIN?
Or do I have to go back to an older 4.2.2 version and then install Silviu's ROM?
Anyone tried to install directly over 4.4.2 with the new bootloader?
Thanks,

Thanks,

I have no clue actually . I don`t use Kies at all
My contacts stay on google account and i sync them there .
Maybe kies does not like custom roms
And u need new version of Kies for 4.4.2 VERSION : 3.2.14083_17

I solved the problem by re-installing the Samsung USB driver on the laptop.

One more question,
With the original 4.2.2 i had problems outside the cities with the second sim when using in 3g mode.
Practically if I used the second sim in 3g mode reception was really bad. In 2g reception was good.
Do you know if this problem is a hardware problem or was solved with this custom rom?
Thanks,
D

No problems here at all with latest Russia rom. But my signal bar is green and i keep both sims on 2G . U have really big problems with signal maybe that is why u have big drain . Where are u from btw ? Maybe u need a modem closer to your country
- DDU*** - India / Nepal / Sri Lanka / Bangladesh
- UBU*** - Brazil / Trinidad and Tobago / Chile / Panama
- XXU*** - Kazakhstan / Ukraine / Uzbekistan / Saudi Arabia / Russia / Pakistan / Egypt /
South Africa / Kenya / Algeria / Tunisia / Iraq, etc - Can be used for rest of Europe

You are right, signal is quite low on sim 2. Also sim2 has signal problems outside of the city in 3g mode. In 2g i have full signal.
Should I use XXU*** modem?

Good advice. Thank you.
Something is really strage, last night i got a 3% discharge rate with all services stopped, no screen, data or wifi.
Today I also put the second sim in 2g mode (better signal), all services stopped and I still have a 3% discharge rate.
In <Better battery stats> i see a process "system_server" with 71% usage. What could it be?
Also in android standard battery stats I see Android System with a lot of CPU usage: 50 min of CPU usage.. only for operating system. I looked on other android devices and I see 5-10 min usage for Android System.
Does the CSC matters? Mine is CSC:I9195OXXBML1 and I notice yours is different.

CSC does not matter . I have m own CSC . I think u have a bad configured app / setting or an bad app . Try to see with Betterbatterystats or with Wakelock detector which app is hurting
At me Android system is with 5-10% battery

Just two little thing with your I9192XXUCNJ3 rom:
I am using it and it works.
The thing which is wrong is, that in the transparent weather application (which comes with this rom), the wheater is always in English language ("fog", or "partly sunny"), even if another language is set (I am using another language on my mobile).
Also at the place where the SMS can be viewed, the date on which the SMS are sent/received is always in English.
In older ROMs (4.2) this things were okay in my language, not in English. I know this are not very important things, but maybe they can be fixed even so.
... excuse me my bad English.

Call recording
does this rom contains the build in to dialer call recorder?
thanks in advance

[FIX] Worse signal, dropped calls after installing new ROM

Hi all,
I've tried some rom and flash, and sometime i meet this probleme :
- get no or worse signal
- missed calls or dropped calls
- seems to get no 2g signal
Result => my phone became a pocket android....without gsm fonction...
Manytime i've saw other member met this problem....
So after many attemp, remplacing radio file in folder system/etc/motorola/bp_nvm_default has solved my problem for theses rom :
- Rooted and not froyo chinese rom
- JBoojie Eclair or Froyo (actually running)
- Milestone 2
- etc...
It work for me, so try it !
I've made a zip upgrade via Recovery mode with my working radio file (comes from original EU Eclair rom v2.34)
Please feeback
PS : i was using this source http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1596785
EDIT : fix confirmed by EU users
I'll try....
as I havn't found the file you providing here, I've got a question: Where are the radiofiles from (US ROM, Netherlands ROM....) ???
I've got the China 2.2 ROM running here, and I've made a file check. 4 of those 14 files are different to your files, but NOT by filesize.
Those files are:
File_Audio2
File_Audio8
File_GSM
File_Seem_Flex_Tables
I'm going to get those files from a 2.34 Central Europ ROM also to make this check again... stay tuned
Edit: those 2.34 Files exactly match your files.
Yes i've use 2.34, it has solve all my worse signal issue with many rom.
It could work only with my french operator, i don't know if it's needed for all ?
Also, try this if you are european user and if you meet signal problm after installing new modified froyo rom, it work for me.

It seems like that is only a display iussue. For me it always show "3G", instead of "H" but when I use *#*#4636#*#* it shows either UMTS or HSPA depending if the telephone uses HSPA or not.
Thanks man!!!
it works perfectly for Vodafone Germany with Orange Deblur BlurlessGingerFroyo 4(Final) Rom!!!

Updating E986 with the official 'kitkat' 4.4.2 Firmware Release

edit:
Lg Server is up again:
here the official E986 kitkat 4.4.2 update:
http://csmgdl.lgmobile.com/dn/downloader.dev?fileKey=FW428306432109876543213/E98620A_00.kdz
Some of the things you will get with this E986 firmware upgrade :
+ support for a large number of european languages
+ well working samba server
+ well working Windows "LG On-Screen Phone"
+ knock-off screen
+ free 50 gb cloud storage at "box" and other goodies when registering at "LG Smart World" app
+ adaptive network settings tailored on measure for the european provider landscape .
(There are user reports indicating that LTE services of some smaller providers are not integrated into the system yet)
please see post #4, #5 for further informations as well as cloud storage links to the E986 upgrade
Some general Information:
A majority of the posts here and in other gpro threads come from people that apparently dont use this device .
It is one of the sequels of swiss government's/parapolice's sell-out of LG stakes that they were once keeping. Unfortunately along with this my wife is kept now for the 15th consecutive year fully illegally imprisoned at the vienna airport(where i am right now)
...guess I had to give you an idea where most of the absurdity in this thread comes from.
Sorry
what is the fewest sour kitkat on e986?
deleted:
explanation in the following post
A turkish e986 kitkat update seems to be published.
Where is it available?
Since the e986 update situation is still rather difficult, it would be fine to have a place where relevant information is neatly collected and displayed.
edit:
As reported by smartphenom.com the update was already published in mid july.
Some bizare internet users (but certainly not GPro owners) called it "turkish rom", so that many GPro owners (like myself ) wouldn't be aware of it.
At least we know now for certain that LG did the job and some other bizare people that wanted to harm us E986 owners for reasons we will never understand tried (and still try) to hide it.
luckily this thread is at the point of getting pointless:
here is the inofficial release of the first official e986 kitkat firmware (it supports an amazingly large number of european languages )
the precise version denomination:
E98620a-EUR-XX
From my dropbox:
E98620A_00.kdz
From my Mega account:
E98620A_00.kdz
size:
*****
1714449203 bytes
checksums:
**************
crc-32: 4CCE9E55
md5: 748C6B4217711B5C26D1CF15989719CA
sha-1: 60D5ED0FB2A139C96D791644045F8CE856C8F9B4
to get a data/internet connection:
Settings->Tethering & networks->Mobile networks->Access point names->tap menu button->chose "New APN"->fill in the first 2 lines:
do not think too much about it, the software does it for you as soon as there is anything filled into the first 2 lines of the access point settings form;
try something like: mydata
then tap menu button and "save".
note :
APN settings can be easily cleared to prevent unwanted [costly] data connections --> your GPro will then behave like a traditional GSM phone.
let me say the official e986 kitkat update is really good
[and..we all know by now how much better life would taste without illegal preservatives (police ****)]
in case the LG server is too busy:
E98620A_00.kdz
..
the empire strikes back

Does it delete the data when i flash this?
Sent from my LG-E986 using XDA Free mobile app
well..
according to my personal experience the data partition will not be overwritten by the LG update software. This is also the reason why a full reset after flashing might help if something doesn't work as it should.
So... it is certainly a good idea to backup as well and as much as possible beforehand.

What I definitely could observe is that the network settings menu on e986 stock kitkat changes with different network providers.
i.e with hutchinson "3" in Austria which doesn't provide 2g/GSM in the more populated areas [and switches to 2G only on the countryside], the "2G only" options disappear from the network settings menu and the network mode pop-up window. [To display them as non available would be more customer friendly, I guess]
Anyway I can't believe that there are GPro users who honestly believe being better off in Europe with a taiwanese firmware.

According to smartphenom.com the firmware was released on july 17, 2014 for the original 'Aturbk' package.
Since people called it consequently "turkish rom" instead of "first firmware release" LG didn`t get any support from the users to withstand the pressure from those police/stasi weirdos that messed up this thing.
I guess in our own interest we shouldn't call this official release "rom" anymore if we want LG to link it to all the other original packages.

If you flash E98620a (turkish) then you might wont see 4g option.

and some asian languages

[Q] Looking for official 4.2.2 (hungary, open) for 8.0 LTE SM T315

Hello,
My father "accidentally" updated his Samsung tab 3 8.0 LTE SM T315 to official 4.4.2, but he don't like it and he got many errors with 3rd party softwares like iGo and Solid Explorer, etc...
We would like to downgrade to previous (official 4.2.2) ROM.
Can anyone link a network independent (so not Telenor, Vodafone, T-mobile) ROM with hungarian support?
(Btw what happens if we installing a ROM of provider (for example, Telenor)?)
Thanks in advance and sorry for bad english knowledge

Normally, nothing should be messed. But the connection speed may increase or decrease if you use such roms. You can also lose your radio (SIMCard support).
Good Luck.

For my part , I can only speak for myself ....

Works like a charm , no issues whatsoever and good battery life ( Better then stock 4.2.2 )

Claude
Usually "best" modem is the one that is used in a country closer to u
So if your phone is 9192 then look at this :
- DDU*** - India / Nepal / Sri Lanka / Bangladesh
- UBU*** - Brazil / Trinidad and Tobago / Chile / Panama
- XXU*** - Kazakhstan / Ukraine / Uzbekistan / Saudi Arabia / Russia / Pakistan / Egypt /
South Africa / Kenya / Algeria / Tunisia / Iraq, etc - Can be used for rest of Europe
I am using the OCT modem... i guess that it is not good... i am having issues using internet with opera mini without "cheap or saver" mode...

is OCT the region? (letters that come straight after model number) I don't recognise it, maybe a European one?
I think Opera will still send data to their servers even when you are not in data saving mode, so probably not the best way to judge modem performance. Other apps should also be affected. Try run a speed test/network app.
Not all modems work well with all ROMs even if region is correct, update modem or try slightly older one if already on newest,

SM-N930FD firmware flash help

Hi All, I've got a Galaxy note Dual sim SM-N930FD
But it currently has a "three" branded firmware on it, I want to flash it with a generic firmware with no carrier branding.
I'm familiar with flashing but have no idea which firmware I need to use for this, I'm in the UK and the handsets CSC is H3G
thanks for any help

Really??
So I can just flash it with UK XEU firmware for a SM-N930F??
Yes. I originally had the United Arab Emirates firmware and went to BTU, XEU now I'm on DTM. Or if you're more comfortable with this.

That would explain why when I received it, it had H3G on it (UK three firmware)

I have the same phone, sm-n930fd... Which firmware is best for English speaking person? Or does it not matter since it is international? I don't really need any update since i have the latest with root and TekHD's hybrid 5.1 ROM....but I know less than you so I ask anyhow.

From my personal experience I've tried various different official stock roms from United Arab Emirates, Germany, UK, Panama, New Zealand, South Africa and Italy. I have not seen any differences in language selection apart from all of them not having English (Canada), and some of them still have the option to charge 80 percent in the second latest update!

I have SM-N930FD UAE version I flashed it with hydra Rom but then went back to stock which is UAE and with 80% battery charging, if firmware got updated recently then you will be restricted to 60% charge only. if you tried other than UAE version please share your experience here.
Regards.

Hi
Did you find any version which can charge upto 100%? I am using UAE version having 80% charge but recently when it was updated on 1st Nov this option was eliminated. I am looking for downgrade but unable to do that, do you know any solution?

I do but its an August firmware (N930FXXU1BPHA) that we cannot use anymore. I've tried flashing it over any September or later updated roms but always get an error on Odin. It's useless if you're on a September or later rom in other words lol. The only way to get back 100% is flash Hydra.

I think your modem software is more important to your local region. I had the original english FD version from Singapore and switched to the local F version where I currently live. And my internet speed just tripled. ?

I have the latest firmware and only rooted then flashed TedHD's hybrid 5.1 and now have 100% battery. If interested, you can go to his site and download. It made me so happy I quickly sent donation for his work and thank you note.
