Download Booster on Note 4 AT&T N910A - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Enable download Booster

I thought download booster was blocked on AT&T note 4, how did you enable it.

this method work too in Note 4 AT&T:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIlSxzeb9Eo

http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=QFXFUk5RZqY

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QFXFUk5RZqY

it enables the download booster but the function is block still, wont work

Doesn't actually work. This is an old trick from the Galaxy S5. It does put the icon on at the top but if you download anything you'll notice it never really activates.

Correct me if im wrong, but even if you could get download booster to work, isnt it a combination of wifi and lte 4 g dowloads which means youll be adding to the data consumption your using as opposed to strictly wifi which wouldnt mess with your at&t amount of data. Im just asking because im on a limited plan of 10 gigs of sharing

yes, it uses your data as well as wifi to download files faster, so you would use your monthly allowance.

I've had it turned on since the beginning but have never seen this gimmick actually activate.

There is a hack to make it function on the at&t S5 so it's theoretically possible on the 4 if we get root. It had a few bugs but a cool mod

Yep, definitely does not work. Just for kicks, I tried it using Nova Settings Shortcut.

Well that's disappointing

not that I agree with the move but I understand AT&T's point. They want people using WiFi to reduce the bandwidth usage on their network.

Someone should just get rid of this....

OMG I love you! That works for T-Mobile as well! For some reason though it doesn't work on Chrome; I'm on Firefox now and it's working flawlessly.

No data cap here. I used about 15g last month and the month before. No throttling either.

Sorry, just want to clarify, on a rooted Verizon device this is working like an actual hotspot and not in ad hoc mode right?

So I'm a little confused. I have unlimated data so would it be better to use the hotspot app or this tether app?

If you are referring to the stock verizon hotspot app, you have to pay a monthly fee. That is why he is mentioning this other app.
works on sprint, unlike the latest play store version(tried yesturday).
thanks

Had the same problem at first. Kept changing the settings as the ones mentioned earlier in the thread initially did not work. Finally the mac saw the device and connected (turned airport off then back on), but no data transfer. Kept messing with settings, turning tether on and off.
All of a sudden it just started working. Tested it on two separate computers and both worked fine. I wish I could say what I did but honestly I think the settings mentioned above are correct but for some reason, you just need to fiddle with tether a bit until you get it to work. Once it starts working, it seems to be fine after that.
Are any of you being throttled in any way? I've installed this on my Dinc4g and my downloads seem to be throttled. I'm getting .7/5 when using Wifi-Tether.. but speedtest from the phone is constantly getting 12/12.
It's functioning fine, I just can't find a way to get my speeds to be the same as they are on the phone.
Are you guys doing anything special with disabling/removing specific Verizon apps, or is a simple root + wifi-tether working flawlessly?

WiFi calling on T-Mobile

Has anyone found any information on if the T-Mobile version will come with the built-in WiFi calling feature. I know it has been added to the HTC one, wondering if the gs4 would get the same feature.

Yeah but know they skipped it with the nexus 4 so I didn't want to assume, but idk if someone had heard word about something I hadn't.
The only reason the nexus 4 didn't have it was because it's supposed to be pure Google without carrier interference I believe. The s4 should have it as it's a tmobile phone, not a Google phone sold by tmobile (if that's a good way to put it)
Yes, it has wifi calling. even says so on the website.

WiFi calling works on any plan, if the phone has it. I dunno about mobile hotspot, I tried to turn it on and got a "you have to have this service on your plan" message. I think it's a separate thing you have to pay for, which is all the more reason to root&install an app from the play store that does it.

Thanks for the info. Mobile hotspot is more important to me but it might be moot since I'm ordering an att S4 to unlock and work with my tmobile sim. If it doesn't I'll return it and get the tmobile S4.

Let me just say this. I am an UNLOCKED phone user. Always have been. BUT here is where I got tired of the BS with data speeds and such. SO I took the plunge to a TMO branded device with the proper bands in it now.
I suggest doing the same for everyone who is NOT international frequently. It is just a waste. I want the 64gb version, but without the proper bands? Not willing to do that to myself AGAIN.

[Q] How to tether without tmobile finding out

I'm on the DARTHSTALKER S4 rom and i love it. Tethering works perfectly fine but when i use the mobile hotspot. I check my T Mobile account and it shows that I've been using the hotspot. Once I got to 400 MB T Mobile sent me a message to upgrade if i wanted to tether. Is there any way I can tether without being caught?

That means that you don't have a tethering plan. If you can tether w/o the tethering plan then you should be fine.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
i think alot of the plans come with Tethering (but limited to the amount of data you get before throttling). Only one of the new plans (unlimited data) didnt have tethering built in in my recollection.
in addition to the already mentioned. i read in other threads that you need to use the toggle from the pulldown menu to activate hotspot, otherwise you get the upgrade screen. personally ive always only used the toggle from the pulldown to activate my tether and never received the upgrade screen.

If you are on the unlimited plan, or any plan that does NOT have tethering included, you will be noticed. You have a grace data allotment of i believe 200MB then you are shut off. There are ways around it and Google will tell you those ways
Why is everyone so concerned....
Theres a well known root tether setup for all galaxys called "trevemod tether" with a tutorial in the general sectio for many phones also requires using hot spot shield vpn app .So tether plan or not , you can get away with tethering the data u pay for to any device...
It hides and blocks what u tether to, thus making tmo think your just using a whole lot of extra bandwidth on your device
ROOT is required.

Maybe it is just me, but does anyone else get irritated by people that want to steal bandwidth? Someone has to pay. Maybe people should pay for the features they desire.

Absolutely... I'll make a reasonable effort to be reasonable... I called them and asked to pay for tethering to go with my unlimited data plan... so I can watch some netflix on my phone when I'm away on business. I figured an extra $30 would be fair. They don't offer anything like that... although... they charge $10/MB for roaming data in Canada, so... I won't die of guilt.
Besides, as I'm fond of saying... we can't all beat the system heh heh!:laugh::laugh: You're right... someone has to pay. Someone not smart enough to figure out how to get a discount. peace bro.
uhhh we already pay for the data service and the hardware and the os which has it built in. there's nothing to feel bad about. I've used 70gb data in a month with sprint and they didn't complain

Does Foxfi work with T-Mobile

OK so to start off I don't really see a thread that has touched on this. I'm wondering if anyone can verify that foxfi works with T-Mobile. I came from Verizon unlimited and moved our 3 lines to t-mobile unlimited due to the cost we were paying with Verizon. Using foxfi on my Razr Maxx Hd worked everytime. When activating foxfi it did start the internal Verizon hot spot as well. I'm noticing the same thing about t-mobile that when I turn on foxfi it also turns on t-mobile hot spot. Is this only to create a hot spot or is foxfi truly not working in the hot spot data is going to count against my t-mobile hot spot? Has anyone played around with foxfi yet.
