[Q] [Solved] HTC one X stuck in bootloader - HTC One X

Hi all. I'm a noob. So please dont laugh if i say something entirely stupid.
So recently i unlocked my Xperia Z1 and successfully flashed cwm and installed cyanogenmod onto it.
So i tried to do that to my HTC one X international (bought in Germany) too.
I forgot to enable usb debugging
First I went to fastboot and flashed the boot.img by typing: fastboot flash boot boot.img
Then I went to recovery but it showed twrp instead. (I installed twrp earlier but it didnt flash the rom i wanted it to)
Somehow i just dont like twrp because of earlier failures and I didnt even tried to use it again (stupid move)
so i flashed cwm found on their site for international HTC one X instead of AT&T (mine should be international, right?)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
And the recovery just didnt work. And when i tried to boot it just showed the HTC logo
When I tried to load recovery it just showed black screen.
I tried to flash twrp again but it doesnt work.
even though every time on the command promt it showed "success"
---------------OK I just solved the problem------------------------
My HTC bootloader (H boot) needed update so i updated it to 1.3 or something than everything worked. you can learn how to upgrade it here:
http://www.usoftsmartphone.com/t33194.html
only this website worked for me

Questions is:
1)what cwm recovery version did you flash?
2)did you do 'fastboot erase cache' after flash recovery?

No I think I did factory reset. Do I type in "fastboot erase cache"
I flashed the cwm for htc one X GSM recovery (not the touch one)

thats the exact recovery i used. I downloaded from the cyanogemmod tutorial page http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_endeavoru
I'm charging the phone to 3680mV with this .bat i found
I think only the logo showed last time is because of low battery, but im not sure

Same reason. I attempted to install Android 4.2.2 after I did a reboot system, then, the bootloader screen into a HTC logo with Beats Audio at the bottom. It's stuck and waiting in more than 4-20 hours.
The phone is actually 2 years old, passed from my older brother and it became a second hand device. It did well in 4.1.1.

Stuck trying to install custom rom

Okay so I am trying to install the jdroid rom, btw first time ever doing this so bare with me, anyways I can't boot my phone stays at HTC quietly brilliant screen with some writing underneath it red. I can get into the bootloader menu, where I am rooted and says my bootloader is unlocked. I can also get into clockwork mod however I messed up when transferring the rom onto my phone. I unzipped it and put it there instead of leaving it in the zip file. I can't mount to my laptop through clockwork mod, is there any other way? Again I can't boot my phone. Thanks
EDIT: Now whenever my phone boots, it boots into the clockworkmod and keeps rebooting I can't do anything, cant mount my phone at all

You need to enter the fastboot mode ... hold "volume-down + powerbutton" for 10 secs and then again push the powerbutton to enter the fastboot mode.
Edit: and after that use the comand fastboot flash recovery nameofrecovery.img

What you need to do when flashing:
a) CWM recovery
fastboot flash recovery xxxrecovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
b) Flashing a ROM
extract the boot.img from the ROM.zip
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
enter recovery
install the ROM.zip
reboot

Next time also read the instructions.
M.
as long as you can get the correct RUU and flash the correct stock recovery, RUU will defo work, then you can start again from scratch. I've done this myself
edit: AT&T????? Are you even in the correct forum using the correct files/methods??? HTC One XL is different forum, different files!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Alright I got out of it using the st&t ruu, though I live in Canada and on Rogers. Data doesnt work but that is not surprise. Gotta wait for a root access and/or bootloader unlock for 1.85. will be patient.

HTC one X wont boot, wierd !

Hey all,
I have an HTC one X.
The Case, phoen wont boot to any screen except for, bootloader on recovery mode (including TWRP and CWM).
I have followed the instructions regarding the usage on HTC one X all in one tool, phone is rooted ( pic1.)
Afterwards, ive flashed, wiped formatted system, and then Flashed Stock ROM.
Phone is not booting farther than the CWM screen (pic2).
Any suggestion would be gladly accepted.
RUU?
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 4 Beta
Im on to it ...
did you flashed the boot.img from rom via fastboot? such things you should not forget...otherwise it wouldn't work so just try another rom wipe system, data, dalvik cache and cache in recovery flash the rom of your choice and in fastboot you have to flash the boot.img which is in the rom zip .with fastboot flash boot boot.img....then fastboot erase cache and fastboot reboot so that the phone reboots...then setup your phone and it's done
If you're running stock kernel you have to flash the original kernel and re-lock the phone, easiest way is using RUU (still have to relock your phone though)
Also, How is this a "development" for android?!!!

Thanks for putting your minds to it guys,
Thats the deal.
Rooted HTC oneX
1. While booting, goes straight to bootloader or into recovery...
2. I do the wipe, Dalvik and all of the other necessary
3. Flashed stock ROM, flashed any other possible ROM... reboot, and it goes back yo the bootloader menu.
Then, just to be clear.
Using the All in one HTC one X.
Re-Lock the phone
Went all the way from beginning.
1. Get token ID, Submit token ID, Unlock bootloader ( done, worked)
2. done the Wipe and re-flashed ROM... same result as before...
3. tried the RUU... nothing
4. i took out the boot.img out of the stock ROM and ran the and did a Kernel flash....
and now i have a pretty logo screen
Ha !! ive got it Runnin ! loaded Stock ROM !!
Thanks for all the Help!!

1. downloaded viperX rom (731mb)
2. useb adb sideload to install it - went perfect
3. then i went back to fastboot and on CMD flashed the boot.img that came in the ViperX zip file - went ok - ver - 1.73
4.cleaned again cache
5. restarted in HBOOT
still stuck on the same freaking screen.

Did you not install by Philz touch recovery? you should, this recovery is the most compatible.
Install the rom via internal storage again.

try this way (without sideload and flashing boot.img BEFORE zip):
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot erase cache
then go into recovery, wipe everything but sdcard and install the ViperX zip file form sdcard; when prompted choose full wipe...
after reboot it should work...
thank you all.

works fine.

[Q] HELP! Stuck in TWRP boot loop!

Howdy Everyone,
So just tried rooting my new m8 and now I'm stuck endlessly booting into TWRP. I thought I did everything correctly: Unlocked the bootloader, installed the USB drivers, installed the ADB fastboot drivers and then flashed twrp 2.7.0.3. I get to the the htc logo screen/warning and, bam, back to twrp everytime.
Does anyone know how to fix this??? The last time i was rooting and installing custom mods was back in samsung galaxy s2 days, so my knowledge is a little dated. Please help!!
Try flashing the recovery again. Download it from the link provided here and confirm the md5 checksum for the zip file.

I encountered this issue as well. I'm almost certain that when you were flashing recovery, you used this command "fastboot flash boot recovery.img".
The right command should be "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img".
To rectify the issue look for a tread that has the boot.img for your specific M8 model and flash boot back using " fastboot flash boot boot.img".
This should fix the issue you are having

I followed the instructions on the TWRP site:
Download the above file. Save it to the root of your /sdcard directly (internal memory only) and rename it to twrp.img
Launch terminal emulator or connect to your computer and open an adb shell, then type the following:
su
dd if=/sdcard/twrp.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p43
Then reboot to complete installation.
But that left me in a TWRP bootloop. Can you please give me step by step instructions on how to get out of this bootloop?
Thanks!
First off, being a noob and using dd without even knowing what partiton you're writing to is extremely dangerous.
Just use fastboot.
plug phone into PC in fastboot mode.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery twrpfilename.img
fastboot erase cache
on phone go back to hboot, select, recovery
In TWRP go to wipe, then swipe for a factory reset (Advanced wipe cannot properly wipe cache and dalvik after fastboot erase cache)
then go to advanced, select cache, dalvik and system and swipe to wipe those partitions.
then go to install, select the rom on your phone and flash. follow on screen instructions.
If you don't have the rom on your phone for whatever reason,
connect your phone, while in TWRP to your PC then, using adb on your PC
Code:
adb push romfilename.zip /sdcard/
Wait until it completes with bytes sent.
Then flash using method listed above.
Be careful if you want to keep your phone. I stress this, if you don't know what a command you are issuing does, exactly, DO NOT DO IT until you look it up and understand what you are doing. There is great risk even when you know what you're doing. There's a LOT more when you don't.

You need cwm recovery to factory reset from cm roms.
Also you need to be in FASTBOOT mode for it to detect your device.
Boot to fastboot, erase cache, reinstall twrp.
Next time reset/wipe from recovery.

[Q] Can't enter recovery Verizon m8

Hello guys, I've had a problem with my phone since flashing 5.0 firmware months ago but I'm just now getting to fixing it.
I have twrp recovery and some 5.0.1 rom that was in beta awhile ago. Everytime I boot into twrp in boots right into fastboot, whatever it's called, after about 5 seconds, so I can't flash any roms, which I think is the problem since it's pretty buggy.
Another thing is that Whenever I charge the phone while it's off, it boots into bootloader and therefore stops charging. Anyway I can fix my recovery without recovery?
This is Verizon htc one m8.
Thanks guys.
Edit: tried using twrp app to reinstall recovery but it boots into bootloader instead.

Of course there's a way. Just like the way you first installed a custom recovery. I will give you instructions in case you've forgotten, or if the phone was pre-rooted when you got it.
Download the latest TWRP from here onto your PC.
When the download is finished, rename it to recovery.img and place it into your fastboot folder.
Hook up your phone to your PC, get into ADB/fastboot, and issue the command fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Then when it's done fastboot reboot
You should now have a working TWRP recovery.
