Hello!
When I choose maximum video quality on my LG G3 the maximum lenght of the video is exactly 5 minutes. And thats way too little! How can I extend this to lets say 20 minutes?
Thanks in advance!
possible it's your sd card or internal space, or lack of it that might be what's limiting you to five minutes?
How large is the file after 5 minutes?

I use a class 4, it is fast enough for the Desire. I also have a class 6 in my DHD I notice no difference between the two.

no no your not understanding, becuase data rates are around 8 mbs (iv made three videos , one of snow falling one of playing cod6 on playstation and talking with a friend all are 8mbs -8.4 mbs, and fram rates in low light get to like 15fps) it seems that the bitrate is too high for sd cards and potentially for the qsd 8250 soc,

Class4 card should be able to write at 4MB/s or 32Mbps. Blame the ROM, not SD card.

But it was the same on the stock android 2.2 that came with the phone, Leedroid has made it much better it only stutters little bit.
stock verison was a joke.
I just picked one of these up. So far so good. I was wondering if anyone else had and what there experience has been with this card. Speeds and so forth.

64gb? For what, full length movies? 150$ ? I have seen class 10 (isn't that the fastest) 32gb for as low as $35.99 on Amazon. I'm interested to see if anyone is using these as well....
I bought it for the space. Movies and music. I know I could have picked up a class 10 cheap but I was more interested in the space.
Many people need 32gb or 64gb because they have lots of music. 2 years ago it was alot harder to fill up a phone's sd card. Today how ever if you take a couple hundred pictures a couples 20minute videos and you have used several GB of data. Throw in your entire music collection and a 32gb sd cards maxxed already

So far so good with mine, had it for about 3 or 4 weeks now. I'm using it for all of my Spotify/local music needs as well as the massive amount of pictures I take. Speeds always seem to hover around 6 mb/s write and 8 mb/s read (measured every once in awhile with SD Tools).
The first time I loaded this card into my phone it wasn't recognized right off the bat (never happened with any of my other microsd cards), but a quick format fixed that.
I didn't know that are phones would take a 64GB card. I thought it would max out at 32?

officially no it cant
unofficially you bet your donkeys rear end it can!!!
That is awesome!!! Can't wait to get one
I have one, but can only seem to get it recognized with a FAT32 partition which kind of sucks because FAT32 is limited to max 4GB per file (which means no 720p/1080p movies loaded on this thing). My Asus Transformer Prime also has one of these, but the Prime supports NTFS so I can go hog wild on file sizes.
no offense, but do you REALLY care about watching a 1080p movie on a 4 inch screen?

No, but I do REALLY care not having to wait several hours while the movie re-encodes to a smaller resolution and/or split file that can fit on my phone. And you do realize the Epic 4G touch has HDMI out which outputs to TV quite well, right?
I got mines last week
but the write speed is soo slow
I get about 2mb write speeds on my stock rooted ET4G Ek02
I formatted the card directly thru the phone
could the slowdown be because I rooted?

With an MHL adapter. I might get one for my transformer prime as it has a micro hdmi port on the side. I use google music on my phone so I don't have any use. And even if I do cache with Google music, the damn app defaults to the built in memory.

Hey guys I'm preordering a note 2 from Verizon(I know) and have a 32Gb card from my old phone but I'm debating getting a 64Gb. What I want to know is how many Mb's per second I should expect to be eating up while recording 1080p? Also 720p would be handy to know.
Thanks.

Done it with stock camera.
720P around 12MB/10 sec ~ 1,2MB/sec
1080 around 21MB/10 sec ~ 2,1MB/sec
I have a Mate 10 with 6GB ram. I find it to be quite responsive. I had 12 aps in recents and still have about 3 GB ram free. So where would folks see improvement in performance on a Mate 20 X with 8 GB ramq. With gaming (which I don't do much of)? Does the camera's AI take up a lot of memory? Is more memory taken up by OS on Mate 20 X so there is less free space? Appreciate people's thought on this before I decide on which Mate 20 X to pick. Thanks!
My understanding is that, as good as it sounds, ram in current phone flagships far exceeds need.
There are some tests on Youtube and there is not really a difference.
The 8GB Oneplus 6T is even slower mostly and has a lower benchmark score in this video then the Mate 20 Pro 6GB (almost same specs like Mate 20 X)

Well, seems to make sense. I've seen the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 is available with 10GB ram! Comes in handy I guess....
Just checked my storage on my phone and with sdcard I'm using 160GB. So the other thing about getting tbe 8GB is it has 256GB storage so I could, in principle avoid buying Huawei's nanocard.

Exactly given the current pricing of those cards. Makes sense to get more RAM and storage.
Pretty sure 6gb, 8gb, and 10gb are mostly gimmicks to sell the phone. As new android versions come out, things get more efficient not more bloated generally. Its too bad manufacturers didn't put the money into more storage.
The primary reason for the memory isnt for everyday use. The extra memory is for game play. On a everyday usage its not going to make any difference unless you keep every app open and dont close anything. But the primary reason for the 6GB or 8GB is primarily for games so there is less hiccups during play. Because as games get more sophisticated they use more memory.
how about the battery drain between 6gb/128gb and 8gb/256gb ? does it make any diffrence?

Its based on usage, size doesnt matter on battery drainage.
The 6gb or 8gb of ram makes no difference.

ooo i see thanks.. :good:
because mine the battery drains rather fast compare with p20 pro
one more thing it is the same between 6gb and 8gb when turn off phone , connect the charger and then it will boot up by it self ? cannot charge in off state like p20 pro?

You can, you have to turn the off back off, its the same thing as an iPhone, as soon as aniPhone has 5% battery it turns itself on, same thing, if you want it to remain off then you either have to plug it in while the phone is on and then turn it off, or if already off and you plug it in and it turns on, then you will have to turn it off. I know its annoying but thats how it is.
Since the Ultra shoots 8K video I'm wondering what would be the best card to get. Would I need a V90 card?

According to this link, 8k video will record at 600 MB per minute, which means 10 MB/second.
V30 should be fine. I haven't seen any confirmation yet that 8k recording directly on microSD is an option.

My guess is that 8k video will automatically record directly to the phone for faster write speeds.

Yeah, that crossed my mind. That would make sense. V90 cards are super expensive so I'll just stick to good old SanDisk U3 A2 V30!

Only 600mb per minute. Sounds too low. I wonder what kind of compression its using.
