Hello guys,
My friend stopped in the middle of an update, after that the tablet was only on the boot samsung screen.
I downloaded two versions of the firmware on SamMobile and installed one by odin. when the Tab rebooted, everything stops working and restarts the tablet. ui system stopped working. TouchWiz stopped working. I tried to make a full wipe. But it did not solved.
Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

By downgrade, do u mean go to the previous version of android that u were trying to upgrade?
---------- Post added at 09:33 PM ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 PM ----------
Or just so whatever Kies gives u
I'm experiencing the same force closes and reboots after updating
Yes, you can easily downgrade
You can simply download whatever you want to have on your tab from www.sammobile.com and flash it,
Go there, go to firmware section, type in your device model number, search for your country's firmwares, select which android version you want, which update you want
And download it
Then flash it from Odin
That's it, you are done

Im sorry man, but I dont know what is logcat.
That ia very difference, as I told I have a galaxy note 3, and when something is wrong, I install a firmware by Odin and everything back to works.
I already tried 3 firmwares in that tablet and I got the same result, force closes and reboots.

There is no way to get the old bootloader. All 4.1.2 firmwares did not come with a bootloader. Odin stock 4.4.2 then install a 4.4.2 based rom.
Tried dat still doesn't work. my sister tab was 4.1.2 she didn't update and whens she flash a 4.4.2 rom she has no problems or bugs like i do
Did you tried factory reset after flashing stock rom? If not then try it them reply

Ok so this is what i did to root my Telus Device SGH-I317M on Build JSS15J.I317MVLUCMK5
I started with a factory reset from backup and reset dont think this is necessary but nice to do with a clean isntall
once that was done i turned off the device and booted into download mode volume down + home + power
opened ODIN 3.09 and added the CF-Auto-Root-t0ltecan-t0ltevl-sghi317m.tar.md5 to the AP section. then clicked start. once done the device restarts back to normal and the root is applied, but during that KNOX detects it and disables it from working.
plug device into computer and ran Kies 3 and ran a firmware upgrade and initialization. took about 20 minutes.
once phone started you will notice superSU is no longer on your system.
TEST FOR THIS PART... PROBABLY not necessary but i did this and this is what happened.
run KNOX and allow it to Install. once done it will ask you to add passwords and at the end it will say it is not compatible with this device or whatever. KNOX has now terminated its warrenty or what not and will not install.
i did not have an update for superSU on Google Play but i DID have the update on Aptoide. so i updated it and ran the program.
program told me it was no longer on the device saying the libraries or whatever were not there.
so i ran Odin and ran AP again and ran it once it was done phone started and no messages and superSU worked.
because now that you factory loaded from kies for some reason it knows you attempted it the first time that now knox will not work
not quite sure how that works or if its even relevant. but when you see in the download mode it says warrenty void 1 or whatever and the knox crap its all disabled now i am guessing because i got no problems or messages once i finished it all
so step by step.
STEP 1. put in download mode and run odin 3.09 load AP and make sure Auto reboot and F. reset time are the only ones with check marks and then click START.
STEP 2 Once device reboots you will get errors and knox blocking it. this is normal. (for me it was anyway) open Kies 3 and do firmware upgrade and initialization. depending on internet connection this could take some time. you may be able to Odin the firmware but i chose kies 3
STEP 3 Once system restore from Kies is done open KNOX and install it. should fail and say not available for this device. (happened on my device)
STEP 4 either run aptoide and download the update for superSU tho you dont see it, its still there. open that will tell you to re do the root process again.
STEP 5 run odin 3.09 load AP and make sure Auto reboot and F. Reset Time are the only ones with check marks and then click start.
STEP 6 once device has started download root checker from the google play store and test. should say success.
i did at first after i root checked it with success i rebooted the device and started it up then opened superSU asked me to download binaries i pressed back by accident and then it said knox detected would you like to try and disable knox. select yes. and then success
you are rooted and no more notifications.
THESE ARE THE STEPS THAT I DID TO ROOT MY DEVICE FOR THE SPECIFIC MODEL AND BUILD so results may differ from others. so far its worked on my SGH-I317M TELUS phone running virgin mobile sim
Hope everyone else has as much success as i did.
all files compressed into one.

If you just want a custom rom all you really need to do is update the bootloader or already be on 4.3 official then just boot into download mode use Odin 1.85 to flash twrp recovery wipe your data and flash the rom you want. Or just update to official use chain fire auto root and just update supersu it will disable Knox.

Thanks but I am not that keen on getting the official rom. For one I hate using kies, it was a mess when i tried to update with my old s3, so I have not used it at all. Plus I have tons of stuff on my current phone that i would need to restore after things are done.
Also, i'd rather not having to deal with knox if i can, even though the phone is out of first yr warranty period. I have always used custom roms on my note 2 and s3 so i will leave at that for now.

I tried that method didn't work for me. I couldn't update or use superSU maybe the root I used didn't fully install but they way I wrote down to doing it on stock room works every time.

The main reason to use a custom rom is to remove all carrier related stuff on your phone. It also let's you add different mods and features you want. For example you can use the note 3 roms. Pretty much turn your phone into a note 3.

alright ill wait till tomorrow. and hopefully i find a detailed description on how to do all this. ive only ever ran the s1 because it was bricked had to run all the modem the pda and pit or whatever a long time ago so my minds gone all fresh on the rooting and flashing roms. ive only ever run stock roms. but for 4.4 i want to get it on my device because i love the group play video and the screen recording and the other few things that are awesome on the note 3
unless there is a way to get all that on the 4.3 note 2 firmware that would be awesome as well
i317m - no mobile data with CF-auto root zip file in odin
I guess I have done enough reading to be dangerous. I wish there was a comprehensive glossary for this stuff.
Anyhow - through ODIN I have flashed CF-Auto-Root-t0ltecan-t0ltevl-sghi317m - and today I have no mobile data.
Where could I find an image to go back to the original phone and start again? It is an i317m Note2 from Bell
Thanks

Hello guys. I created this thread because I just want to help users help with problems regarding to Galaxy Tab 3 SM-T210. Write down your problems/issues/questions about device (development, bugs, etc...) and I'll try my best to help you.
Can I flash a t210r stock ROM to my t210.
The reason for this, is I cant get xbmc to run on my t210, however, over on the xbmc forums, there are a number of people running it successfully on the t210r. Through logcat, i have been able to determine that the issue is caused by a faulty display driver for the Vivante GC1000. I'm pretty convinced that the display driver on the t210r is not faulty, as others are able to get it to work.
the only way to check this, is to run a t210r firmware on the t210, but I dont want to brick it

Hi khalequesu, I guess you used pre-rooted kernel, which is an older one and newer devices seem to have problems with this. Have a look at my RocketTab thread. The included kernel will give you back the bootanimation. Moving apps to sd is still not supported in any ROM so far, but you can use an app called Folder Mount, details are in post no. 3 of my thread.

Random Problem
Hi,
I have a (pretty major) issue - I got my tab (T210), rooted it straight outta the box with one of the first few versions of CMW for this device and installed Rocket Tab with the Blackhawk kernel.
Now the thing doesnt work properly; as in the touch screen is ridiculously slow, often doesnt work at all and it's basically impossible to use. I've reflashed, wiped, remounted, recovered every kernel and ROM for this thing and I cant fix it.
Obviously I'd sent it back but my status is 'custom' and my flash count is at 5 or 6 i think. Triangle Away doesnt work with this device (yet?) so no way to get it back to stock.
Anyone got any ideas?

ok, thanks for trying to help mate, but I dont think you're getting what I'm saying - I've flashed every ROM there is for this device; Crash ROM / Rocket Tab / Kids Rom / Stock etc etc and it doesnt work.
So it's not a specific ROM problem.

Try older firmware for your country. Flash with Odin. Then do a software update OTA. Check in download mode, if download counter is reset. This helped me to reset my tab.

I ran into a problem when I tried to root my phone. I had experience rooting before with a Samsung tablet so I was surprised with this problem.
Phone Info:
AT&T Galaxy Note 2 SGH-I317 OTA updated to Android 4.4 before attempting the root
Things didn't go as planned and got hung up during rooting process... Now the phone is stuck with the message about Firmware update
interrupted. I'm not entirely sure how to proceed next and I was hoping to receive some advice from other users who are more experienced
in this area.
I remember reading somewhere that once a device has KitKat 4.4 installed.. you can't use a previous version to restore or something like that.
I hope to have someone respond back to me soon... and please, if you could, give me detailed/step-by-step instructions or advice so I can understand what you mean.. since I'm not an expert in this particular area.
Remember, before the soft-bricking, my phone was running Android 4.4 that was recently installed by AT&T.... so I need a method what works with that.
Yes, I am still able to get into Download Mode...

Thanks for the quick reply
Thanks for the recommendation... However, I did come across that posting but it didn't seem to apply to my particular problem.. I'm not running 4.3, but Android 4.4 on my phone... One thing I'm not sure about is... I tried flashing the original 4.1.2 to my phone (followed instructions from another site on resolving soft bricks) and that process failed... I'm not sure if I need to completely start all over with my phone or if 4.4 is still installed...

As the title says I need a brave knowledgeable soul that it's willing to let me test a downgrade method for the galaxy s6 edge. I will flash official samsung files so there shouldn't be any issues.

I thought root didnt work with 51.1. yet..anyways it's by flashing samsung signed files from the factory.
Just flashing the firmware from sammobile?

So I went to 5.1 then back using Odin to flash stock 5.0.2. No issues other than it reinstalled bloat

You odin'd COF6 5.1.1 and we're able to fully revert back to 5.0.2?
Yessir. But I don't have twrp if that helps. I was able to, using 3.10.6. Bypassed the new boot loader no issue. Fwiw. I initially had issues installing 5.1.1 bc I installed the boot.img first, which wouldn't allow installation of system.img. Got around that, didn't like it, went back. Data still intact. No issues.

So let me make sure I understand. You flashed the completely stock COF6 Odin tar and then reverted completely back to 5.0.2?
I only ask because I have spent the last 30 hours trying to do so lol
Being on stock recovery when you go to 5.1.1 makes the difference?

ok I have a spare tmobile, usa 32gig s6 edge on 5.1.1 upgraded threw smart switch.... what do u need for me to do
Has anyone else been able to successfully downgrade from 5.1 to 5.0.2?

What's the word?
Have we found a way to go back or at least root 5.1.1?
I may be wrong, but I think it is a communication issue. One user said he reverted from 5.1 to 5.02 - but he went on to say that he did not flash the BOOTLOADER (that was my interpretation) and he didn;t full flash the entire 5.1.1 tar - so in reality he never really updated - and going back to 5.02 wasn't an issue (obvoiusly)
That is my take on what I read here - but I may be mistaken - I am hoping I am wrong cause I sure woud like to get this whole thing behind us.....

You are correct. I was mistaken. I flashed the boot and system partitions, not the ota or smart switch version. Once I did, I was stuck like everyone else.

Did it start correctly with the older bootloader?

I got mine to boot the 5.1.1 rom/kernel on the old bootloader. But without flashing the bootloader, it had issues with the fingerprint reader and the ambient light sensor. It may have had other issues that I didn't discover in the brief time I had my phone this way.
So was anyone able to downgrade?
I was lured to upgrade to 5.1.1 with false root promises by this article here -- http://www.teamandroid.com/2015/06/...511-galaxy-s6-edge-g925t-lollipop-firmware/2/, which claimed it had a root package for SM-G925T for 5.1.1 -- but instead the link in it was redirecting to a root package for SM-G925F, which on t-mobile version is just causing a boot loop.
So I've been trying to downgrade to 5.0.2 but when I try to flash it with ODIN, my phone just displays an error message "sw rev. check fail. device: 2, binary: 1"
Anyone who was able to downgrade could you please post exact steps and links to the firmware you used?

I just did it too. Worked just fine but I was getting "Unfortunately, BadgeProvider has stopped working" message. Cleared cache in recovery and still the issue. Went to badge provider, cleared cache/data, disabled, enabled, cleared cache in recovery, and rebooted and it has been running without that message for an hour. I will wipe if it comes to that =).
How do you guys like the update so far? Is it worth updating or would you stick to xtrestolite's rom @gdmlaz?
Can we root this version like we did the one for the first 5.1.1 update and not trip Knox
Does this giant file include updates to the baseband and bootloader? Can I use this to update those two things and then install a custom ROM over it? Thanks

yea this file flashes all the baseband, modems, etc etc you will be able to flash another rom on top after but you will have to flash a recovery over again since this will flash stock recovery and take root away
Wait I can flash this rom over this?

yeap you just have to get twrp recovery and flash xtresolite on top
It's smooth. The devs should tweak it though. I would love to see the call recording the block options and other stuff in Xtre. But for the most part just waiting on the tweaks from the devs.

Unfortunately we have 0 devs working to make a rom specifically for this device so don't think that is coming the best thing we have is the international roms but we lose wifi calling and a couple of other things....... Wish a dev would make at least a deodexed rom so we could at least play with that...... the tmobile edge is the least developed device I ever owned
Does everything work with this? Fingerprint scanner, wifi calling everything else

I like the 0f8 leak it has the native video calling this I heard does not leak running great 4 me
Sent from my SM-G925T using Tapatalk
You have the video calling to work. It force closes. For me. If I can install a recovery I most Def go back to Xtre. Love it.
