[Q] Install watch faces with extension .face - Moto 360

I've searched all around the web and didn't found the answer. But if this question has already been asked, sorry.
So, does anyone know how to install watch faces with extension .face please ?
Here is how I install .zip watch faces.

I was in the same boat not too long ago. Let me try to make this simple.
1. You need to buy Facer.
2. Look around the forums and find face zip files of faces you like.
3. Create a folder on your desktop like facer and inside this place your downloaded zip files.
4. Now for each downloaded zip, eg. tagHeuer1.zip, create a new folder in the Facer folder you already have, called TagHeuer, and now extract the corresponding zip file into this new folder. There will be three or four files including a png file.
Read 4. again if you don't understand it, until you do. Very important.
5. Now hook up your phone via USB and place these individual folders of various faces (not the zip files) into the facer folder on your phone (will be there if you bought facer and installed it)
6. Open apps in your settings menu on the phone, find facer and force stop it. Close everything and restart facer on your phone. You will see the faces there under your faces. Touch one to select, and in the upper right top of the screen you will see an icon to upload it to your Moto.
7. On the Moto, in he settings menu, select change watch face and select facer. Select the face you just uploaded and there you have it.

Same thing as the .zip. Just move the .face file into your Facer folder, then load it up on the Facer app. Basically just move the .face file into the Facer folder, then perform Steps 6 & 7.

Alternatively,
just press the middle top right icon (watch with a down arrow) when you open facer, then navigate to where the file is and select.
or
attempt to open the fie, when the phone asks which app to use, select Facer, and you're done.

even easier method, if the watch face is on http://facerepo.com/app/ then just use the provided QR code from the details page for interaction free installation, such as this one:

12. Use siggner.exe (SDKSamplePrivDeveloper) to Sign DLL.
13. Check logg.
It should say:
Warning: This file is signed, but not timestamped.
Succeeded

14. When done, transfer DLL to My Documents on phone.
15. Open Total Commander
16. Rename original DLL to *_original.dll
17. Copy/Move edited DLL from My Documents to original DLL folder (%\Windows\).
18. Soft Reset.
If your edit doesn't work..
1. Go to DLL folder in Total Commander.
2. Rename failed DLL to *_fail01.dll
3. Soft Reset.
(4. Delete *_fail01.dll after Soft Reset)
Excellent short guide. It doesn't go in-depth, but those who know what they're doing will find their way. May I suggest some improvements?
Instead of using the command line to unsign a file, you can just use the file explorer by dragging the DLL to unsign onto the executable file. It will automatically pick the dragged file and unsign it. Saves some hassle!
Also, if you use a proper image editing program such as GIMP or Photoshop, you won't need to check and recheck the BMP's properties, as they automagically save the proper type.
Then it might be a good idea to add the URL's for all the apps that need downloading.
Finally, it might be a good idea to tell people what the file signer should report (Signed, but not timestamped) and that they should only use SDKSamplePrivDeveloper.
Cheers!

Well noted. Adding screenshot.

I've had a great deal of issues with different versions of Adobe Photoshop, which is why I use BMPInfo to double-check, helps avoid floating-point errors and such.

Right on it..
heers!
Please sticky this, I think it's good stuff.

What I want to do, is change the color of the inside of the boxes behind the numbers to red, and leave the rims around them black/gray.
Is there anyway to edit the apk to do this? If so, could anoyne guide me through it? I would love help, because I think that that would just put my setup towards perfect for me.
well, usually what I do in this situation is first copy the apk to a working directory. Then extract the apk in the working directory, and look in one of the drawable folders for the image. Edit the image to your liking. Then when you are done, replace the original image inside the untouched apk you kept in your working directory. You should then be able to either push that apk back onto the phone, install it, or package it in the rom and reflash.

Ya know, I've been looking for the Apk file in my phone, and I have no idea where it's at (using sdk tools to search through my phone), because I was thinking just with common sense, that what you said would be the way to go about it.
here's the dev. site:
http://www.davidgoemans.com/mainsite/node/13
It looks like there's no apk to dload to the computer first... is there anyway you can help me with where to look on my phone for the file?
It is probably in /system/framework
Either com.htc.resources.apk
or
framework-res.apk
Well, I went ahead and found it, but, now it's not letting me install the apk for some reason. It's saiying that it's replacing the old digiclock even though I removed that one.
Here's the apk file I created. All I did was rename it to a zip, replace the files, and rename it back to apk.
Can anyone help?
Ok, I got it. I ended up getting the apk manager 4.8 from here, and it took seconds to run through that.
Here's the updated clock.
Looks very good

there in the framework-res.apk and easy to replace, if you find some emoticons you like i can replace them for you
can u tell the method in PLAIN ENGLISH please?
Same as the guy above..oh and if it's not too much to ask, can you pls give us a step by step guide on how to do this.
1. Extract your framework-res.apk. you will find it in /system/framework/.
2. download and install 7zip, on your pc.. its a free program.
3. on your pc, right click on your extracted framework-res.apk, find the 7zip contex menu, and click on open archive (DONT EXTRACT IT)
4. A box will open, now navigate to the \res\drawable-hdpi-v4\ folder, inside there you will find the emoticons, they have names like "emo_im_cool.png" and "emo_im_crying.png". find some suitable replacement emoticons, and rename them to the match the file names in the folder.
5. just drag and drop your new emoticons in the folder, and replace the existing ones.
6. close 7zip. now download the update.zip template i've attached at the bottom, unzip it and copy your modified framework to the framework folder inside the zip, go back to the root of the zip and zip it back up.
7. copy the update.zip to the root of your sd card and flash it from recovery
I found an easier solution, will post it IF succesful
But what if you just want to replace the text instead of the image?
I'm using the gingerbread keyboard and it has this smiley button, but how can i change them?

Found a Bug in latest bada2.0 beta!!

Try to create a folder named Themes in phone memory. AN error will appear preventing you from doing this.
Warning : do not create this folder by connecting your phone to computer . This will put your phone in reboot loops.
I just flashed my phone after doing that...
Maybe chance to repair via *.pfs Deletelist... next time...
Not sure what exact happens. As few Security thingies stronger...
Boot Cycle is bad to handle...
Maybe S8600 easier, as full Qualcomm... maybe then FTM is possible...
Then maybe access to filesystem possible... to repair... MAYBE.
Best Regards

I too created a "Themes" folder on my phone using my computer whilst connected in debug mode however I found it had changed to "New Folder" a bit later when trying to copy a theme in there...
Strange behavior indeed.

Anybody can replicate ChatON can't add buddy from Android version of ChatON?
I can't add any contact from any of my friends that's using ChatON for Android.
It's prohibited to create folder named "Themes" in the phone memory directly on the headset because that folder is protected and hidden, because there are themes downloaded from Samsung Apps (and they are encrypted). So they are available only in menu: Settings - Display - Theme. But it's possible to create that folder connecting the phone to computer in Kies Mode (by default) and put there our themes in smt file. And then folder will be visible in My files, themes (smt files) will be there, and it's possible to send them to someone else via Bluetooth etc.
It's not a bug, bada has protected that name for a new directory as 'Themes' is used as a system directory by the OS.

Don't unzip it. Just enter the zip file using winrar and delete/replace the image file through winrar by dragging file into it. Worked for me that way when i tried to change the lockscreen wallpaper. Then rename file back to ".hwt"
