If you're using the stock launcher I believe the action memo widget does the same thing
The action memo notes will show up as sticky thumbnails on other launchers in the S-note widget. The 4x1 size one.

not like note 3
With the note 3 the widget wasn't set size and you worked much more intuitively. Also If you use any other launcher you cannot use the action memo widget.
I also am looking for a good sticky note widget that works with s pen for nova launcher.
I'm also looking for a widget like yhis. I can't seem to find the action note one...

I'm currently using wp clock for my homescreen clock. Previously I used fancy widgets which allowed me to map the weather icon to weatherbug, and the battery percentage to settings. Because wp clock is a live wallpaper and not a widget, I can no longer do this.
Is there an app out there that would allow me to assign an invisible area in the 2 corners for functions like weather and settings?

the closest thing that I can think of is circle launcher. you can configure each individual widget to only have one icon/app plus you can make the circle widget completely transparent.
an alternative would be to use a 3rd party launcher (ie apex or nova) that allows you to change icons for any given homescreen icon. than just use a transparent icon or pic.

I'm already using apex, I may try your custom icon idea. Would be nice to be able to resize area to 2x2 though.

use desktop visualizer and add a 2x2 widget...then use a transparent/blank icon
That worked beautifully, thanks!

You can try swipepad. It let's you have a grid of apps that you can make appear my touching a predefined hotspots.

I bought Transparent Launcher Premium, thinking that it would do it for me. Unfortunately though, it lacks many basic features that I think the developer should have implemented. There is no way to search for an application by name to make it a transparent widget (you have to scroll through all your apps in non alphabetical order), and you cannot make multiple transparent widgets for your app icons (has to be 1 by 1). Lastly, with my Note 2 I can't even have a 1x1 transparent widget, only 2x2. So please guys, any other viable options out there? I like to have a nice wallpaper to look at with most of the apps that I use still on my homescreen.
PS sorry for the rant :silly:
Lightning launcher has the ability to make icons and widgets transparent.

Thanks for the reply. I do not want to switch my home lunched though. I'm a firm believer that most big things on a phone should be stock... runs smoother.

What are some of your guys favorite apps on your note 3. Here are some of mine. They can be stock or otherwise. Include why you like it
-Real Racing 3
>Great graphics and a good game
-MyScript Calculator
>It will solve any math problem you can write in it
-Action Memo
>comes in very useful with a lot of stuff
-Stylus beta
>Write with the S-Pen with ease
-S-Pen Keyboard Switcher
>When the S-Pen is taken out the keyboard automatically switches to one you have selected

I looked for the s-pen keyboard switcher but I couldn't find it in the play store, so where do I find it?

Anyone else surprised by this? I'm okay with no widgets, but not having the shortcuts on the lockscreen is very disappointing.

Same here, very disappointed
Well hopefully they add it in in future updates. Really do miss that. Other than that, loving this phone!

I this a touch wiz or verizon change ?
touchwiz hadn't had lock screen widget since the new s5 version came out. the tab series doesn't even have them either. I have a feeling they're dunzo especially since lolipop got rid of lockscreen widgets anyway.

Widgets are there, they moved them away from the tabbed format. They went backwards a hit. Do a long press on the screen and they will come up.
Bill
no he means on the lock screen.

Yeah last galaxy device I had was the S4. I didn't know lollipop got rid of them. I can do without the widgets, I just miss the shortcuts. I loved putting a a google voice search shortcut on the lock screen for when I'm driving.
What's up everyone! Hope yall love your note 4 as much as I do. I'm curious about how your setting up your homescreen. I really don't know where to begin as I want to take advantage of this screen and have something great to look at. Post your homescreen here.
Here's my home screen for now. I use nova launcher and ultimately I'll be changing the amount of rows and columns but I don't know what else to put on there yet!

Dude, that almost looks 3D.
Simplicity. Smart Launcher Pro and some wallpaper I found online.
I got nothing on my home home screen but the time. I like things simple. With my guitar too

I much rather wait for root too be enabled before this phone really is optimized. It's really missing this. Badly, i had root with my note 3,fully awesome. I had all the best of the note 4 apps, the s5 and the other apk files, I had hooked up. No custom rom. It's just lacking at the moment. The note 4 is super besides that. I'm running GO LAUNCHER EX, cherry g pro icon Pack. Its dry up awesomely. Yes I paid the 20 bucks to unlock all the features, even for the GO LOCKER.
