My buttons seem to have a weird problem: backlight only works during day. May be something with the light sensor?
P.D. Also the backlight isnt very bright.

Yes, is reflective paint.
Greetings
Good post, i really think was necessary to clarify that.
Greatings.
Or add :
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
to build.prop and you will have softkeys onscreen. No need for backlight, but will lose some space on the screen...up to you
Peace

Like it says in the title. I want to change the green light to blue, when the phone is charged. Thought it would make a nice addition to the theme.
I don't think it possible because our hero has only got "two collered led" - grenn and orange.

It's only a bi-colour LED mate, so we can't make it any other colours
I just found out myself. Was about to close the thread, but you were faster than me. Pardon my ignorance.
Blue LED
There is a blue LED, if you hold trackball & power when booting up you get blue as it is in JTAG debug mode!
EDIT: Sorry, I was thinking G1! Would be nice though.
What about the LED on the left for bluetooth, isnt this blue?

No proximity sensor on our GSM hero That's the Eris. It's just a brightness sensor.
Is there any application or script available for customizing light sensor. So that we can set display light, key pad and button light intensity.
For example: for light 0 to 100 lux , display 40 percent. For light 101 to 200 lux display 60 percent. Etc etc

Cyanogenmod has these settings, you can set any values. Also Runnymede port to DZ has RCMix3D settings, there you can just chose 3 modes (default, lower, lowest).

None that I have found... CM7 has a great built in editor in cm settings. It can even reduce flicker, how sensitive it is (light sensor), and soft key lights. Takes some testing but it works great!
Don't forget the thanks button for the guy who helped you! I wouldn't mind one either

MIUI is a great ROM. Ofcourse it could be great if we can control display light settings
My app Lux does what you want (for the display, at least). The next update will let you manually enter lux/brightness value pairs. Currently it reads in lux values and lets you 'link' them to brightness values.

Yeah I'm using Lux, it does what OP wants quite well.
EDIT: Oh you're the developer, thanks for writing the app!

Thanks for the application.. I just bought it. it is working for me ofcourse atleast for brightness. It would be great after having buttons and key pad customization.
I am exploring the application and let you know in case of any suggestion.
(Thanks button hit already)

Thank you.. Now I hope some battery life improvement as well. If Cyb3rGlitch is a developer of that application then he/she tried to fill a gap in android system, which I would have tried if I were a developer ;-). He did a good job anyways..

The problem with changing button brightness is that most phones don't honour the change. I'm going to hold off adding the feature until I get my hands on an official Google phone like the Nexus Prime.

Hmm ic
Well as far as desire z is concern i have tested customization feature of MIUI and cyanogenmod. Those worked well for button as well. The thing i noticed in these was that at the lower level of light i could not configure light intensity. i.e. at very dark level and at the normal room light level the output for display was same. But was trying to get almost 0 % for totaly dark room and atleast 20% display for nominal room light condition.
I am also searching for these feature in your application... I hope i will explore as much as possible.
That could be a limitation of the physical light sensor.
HI.
After rooting my kindle fire and installing the go launcher ex, the auto brightness feature is gone.
can someone please tell me how to get it back?
thanks.

I thought this was removed via an Amazon update?
this could be. but why did they remove it?
Unknown. Potentially pending another update.
//Tapatalk.KindleFire//
The auto-brightness setting was buggy. caused some issues with brightness and screen wake. so they removed it for now.
One would think that auto-brightness would be extremely important on something that is supposed to function, at least partially, as an e-reader.

Does the KF have a sensor to control brightness? Without one, autobrightness would be useless - and, I do not see any kind of sensor anywhere on the front of the KF.

Top left corner there is def some type of sensor. I bought a screen protector for the KF and it includes a round cutout for said sensor.

Yep, now that you pointed it out, I can see it. Anyone know what that is?
That is almost definitely the light sensor, since my Droid 2 has something EXACTLY like that for light/proximity sensing.
And it *was* rather buggy.
However, since it *is* fairly simple to adjust the brightness, it's not that bad.
Widgetsoid comes with a customizable brightness control with slider or toggle.

I noticed today, when i am in dark,
i turn the one x from sleep, the 3 physical keys lighting i see 3 light bleeds on the screen above the 3 physical keys as long as the screen is black, on whiter picture it wont show the bleeds..

Hi to all, I have a little problem with my Z1C, the led notification light is very low, I compared the phone with other Z1C and the difference is really visible.
Is there any solution or possibility to edit to increase the power of the light
Thank's
Hey!
You can try with apps like Light Flow.
They have settings to adjust the brightness of the LED.
This however only works if its really a software issue. If the problem is a broken LED then it is a warranty issue.

If you phone is rooted, you can install gravity box and it has an option to set notification led frequency (by default it's 6000ms)

Thanks for the tip, now I try to hear the support from sony, if they can replace the LED under warranty, otherwise i will try your solution.
This would be the best solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2212944 but I think it's not made for kitkat..

you do not care the frequency, but I saw that the program can handle the intensity of the LED ... all the answers are welcome and I discovered a new program:good::good:

GravityBox? I don't see such an option, only on/off duration can be set.
