[Q] Pause button in XBMC [SOLVED] - Fire TV Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have made a custom keymap for XBMC on my Fire TV:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<keymap>
<Global>
<keyboard>
<up>Up</up>
<down>Down</down>
<left>Left</left>
<right>Right</right>
<enter>Select</enter>
<menu>ContextMenu</menu>
<play_pause>FullScreen</play_pause>
<rewind>PageUp</rewind>
<fastforward>PageDown</fastforward>
</keyboard>
</Global>
<Home>
<keyboard>
<menu>XBMC.ActivateWindow(favourites)</menu>
</keyboard>
</Home>
<FullscreenVideo>
<keyboard>
<up>StepForward</up>
<down>StepBack</down>
<left>SmallStepBack</left>
<menu>ShowTime</menu>
<play_pause>Play</play_pause>
<right>StepForward</right>
<rewind>SubtitleDelayMinus</rewind>
<fastforward>SubtitleDelayPlus</fastforward>
</keyboard>
</FullscreenVideo>
</keymap>
The problem I have is that with newest Kodi pause button during playing the video doesn't work. I tried putting "Play/Pause" in play_pause setting but it didn't help. It works as play but never as pause (even when I put Pause in there, so something is probably wrong). Anyone knows a solution?
PS. Solved. I made two mistakes: 1) I was uploading the keyboard.xml to a wrong folder (keymap instead of keymaps), 2) I had "Play" instead of "PlayPause".

How to remove Globe and Youtube link?

Changed the Rom in my Blackstone from dutch to standard English version.
(RUU_BlackStone_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.0_Radio_52.49a.25.26_1.09.25.14b)
In de the Dutch version I edited the file \Windows\Opera9\Opera6.adr.
After that in the Internet widget the Globe and Youtube link were gone.
After flashing with the English rom I did the same.
But ... the Globe and Youtube link are still there.
I just want a page of bookmarks with no globe.
But just removing the YouTube link is OK, because I never use it.
Who can tell me how to remove the Globe and/or Youtube link?

With the help of this link I learned the following about the Internet tab.
In the English version the file 27c65cbd_manila contains xml-commands for the Internet tab.
Some xml-sections were deleted.
Now the Internet tab has no Globe and no Youtube link.
There are now 8 bookmarks visible on the screen.

hmmm. related to this question, is it possible to put Google Maps on the Internet Page then?

Could I ask what you altered to get rid of the Youtube link? I've seen the thread you link to before but all that seems to happen whatever I try is I get a completely empty internet tab until I return to the original file in ROM.

You have tried spelling "Operator" in the 27c65zbd_manila file with two Os, like this?
<OOperatorLinks>
<Link
Text="YouTube"
Executable="\windows\youtube.exe"
ImagePath="\Windows\HTC\Assets\Images\InternetPortal\youtube.qtc" />
</OOperatorLinks>
I have never had a problem with this...but not saying it isn't a problem with your particular ROM/Manila.
You could also try deleting all of the text between "OperatorLinks", like so:
<OperatorLinks>
</OperatorLinks>
Not sure if this works on the HD, though...
I've tried both of those before but just tried both again just in case. Still the same.
Not to worry, it's not a major annoyance.
Thanks for your help anyway.
install the attached cab to remove YouTube link.
I've no idea what's different in the file in your cab (I can only see x's instead of O's) but it worked a treat! Thanks.

The characters in red were deleted from my file: \Windows\27c65zbd_manila

Very odd. I wanted to keep the globe but get rid of the Youtube link. No matter what combination of removing / modifying the Operatorlink section I'd tried it just came up as a blank screen with the file re-marked as a Read Only / System file. ammar's cab file worked perfectly though.
I copy the file "27c65zbd_manila" to Storage Card. Use PC to uncheck the readonly atribute and then use Notepad to add the following "x"s in the file.
<xOperatorLinks>
<Link
Text="YouTube"
Executable="\windows\youtube.exe"
ImagePath="\Windows\HTC\Assets\Images\InternetPort al\youtube.qtc" />
</xOperatorLinks>
Save it and add back the readonly attribute. Copy it back to /Windows.
It works.

If you want the Globe than don't delete banner section!
Use Notepad to change the file on the PC
Save it and send it to the storage card of your Touch HD
Copy it with Resco Explorer to the \Windows directory.

will have a play with that.
Ideally I'd like google maps and the rss program on there so a "proper" internet tab.

Ammar's cab file removes the Youtube link but leaves the globe. Just how I wanted it.
I have a Singaporian ROM with a ugly operator logo instead of the globe, and that's why I want to get rid of it. So I tried to modify 27c65cbd_manila, but nothing change at all. I tried to soft-reset after modification, or also deactivate and re-activate Touch FLO in Today settings, but even though the file is modified, the internet tab doesn't change.
This is my modified file:

All of the instructions for editing the browser menu reference changing InternetPortal-en-US.xml.
It's nowhere to be found on mine so I have to assume it's been changed on the latest TP2's.
Any suggestions?

[DEV]How to replace navbar icons on stock ROMs [SOLVED!]

I start this thread in order to share with you the information I already collected regarding the theming the navbar keys on stock roms. You should have realized that after Lollipop upgrade there is not even one stock based ROM or theme which contains themed navbar icons. The reason for this is:
1. Apktool RC3 is buggy on LG system apps, including LGSystemUI.apk. There is no way recently to decompile systemui and have access to the source code of the navbars.
2. With the Lollipop upgrade LG changed its approach regarding definition of the navbar icons using Google's new public classes of VectorDrawables.
Code:
java.lang.Object
↳android.graphics.drawable.Drawable
↳android.graphics.drawable.VectorDrawable
VectorDrawables are specific xml files that define vector graphics via vector coordinates.
The three main navbar icons are defined in LGSystemUI.apk as follows:
ic_sysbar_back_button.xml:
Code:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>

I spent many dozen hours on finding/creating vector graphics of Lollipop navbar keys as SVG files. I tried many times and many ways to save the corresponding SVG files and convert them to VectorDrawable using this site: http://inloop.github.io/svg2android/
Used a trick to recompile the new xmls and replaced them in the LGSystemUI.apk with my vrtheme engine. But still no success. When the shape of the icon was OK the size of them was never.
Basically I am fully confused why the virtual canvas of the stock icons is 168x168. I am struggling with the fill and stroke color definition as well.
This is the status quo. I hope by starting this thread that together we can solve the problem and get the working source code of the Lollipop navbars. I look forward for any help.
Please note that skin1980 is already involved in the project and I got from him huge help with his intelligent hints.
This is a development thread please do not post comments and remarks that are not intended to provide professional help.
Merry Xmas to all of you!

REAL SOLUTION
Since the release of 20H software version LG also introduced the Lollipop navbar icons. These are defined in LGSystemUI.apk res/drawables folder by xml files [email protected]_button.xml where @ is the corresponding function name (for example ic_sysbar_back_button.xml.

For all button there is a different code for the transparent version. The above codes are already modified by me because the stock buttons are way too big. See here.
The button size is defined by vector android:height="42.0dip" android:width="42.0dip" and I decreased those values for my Lollipop theme.
In ChupaChups 4.1 you will be able to reduce the navigation bar height which requires the change of the corresponding button height as well.
I hope I helped. Good work with this icons.
Missing codes fixed. We need a proper pathdata for the lollipop icons and the right size definitions.
one might try to rebuild a customized in another lgsystemui with new icons and put them with full apk buttons.
I try this but I'm a little confused. buttons you create are not the photo. I still investigating
forgiveness. My English is the translator of google.
forgive my English.
first.
decompile a LGSystemUI.apk ok kitkat and open ic_sysbar_back.xml
second
decompile framework of kitkat and open values/public
third
decompile framework-res.apk of lollipop and open values/public
ok. ready.
first wanted png that android not use. for example "ic_jog_dial_answer". now, Go to values of lollipop and wanted id public and copy your id. Wanted on public of kitkat and copy your drawable.
Code:
<public type="drawable" name="ic_jog_dial_answer"[COLOR="Red"] id="0x01080371[/COLOR]" />
on lollipop
Code:
<public type="drawable" name="[COLOR="lime"]ic_perm_group_bluetooth[/COLOR]" [COLOR="red"]id="0x0108037[/COLOR]1" />
on kitkat
ok now go to ic_sysbar_back and replace your drawable
Code:
<item android:state_enabled="true" android:state_pressed="false" android:drawable="@[COLOR="Cyan"]*android:[/COLOR]drawable/[COLOR="Lime"]ic_perm_group_bluetooth[/COLOR]" />
<item android:state_enabled="true" android:state_pressed="true" android:drawable="@*android:drawable/ic_perm_group_bookmarks" />
<item android:drawable="@*android:drawable/ic_perm_group_bookmarks" />
</selector>
now recompile your systemui of kitkat and replace ic_sysbar_back on LGsystemUI.apk of lollipop
replace ic_jog_dial_answer.png for your png with this name and copy into framework-res.apk.
now put LGSystemUI.apk into your phone with root explorer and permission.
flash framework-res.apk with the new icons and voila

Many thanks ffalete. I followed your guide but got the following result:
I am confused with the following steps:
1. When changing the reference in ic_sysbar_(...).xml you said
Code:
android:drawable="@*android:drawable/ic_perm_group_bookmarks" />
I used:
Code:
android:drawable="@drawable/ic_perm_group_bookmarks" />
The * is not required, isn't it?
The navbar icons are 128X128. I put them into the xhdpi folder of framework-res.apk with the name "ic_perm_group_bookmarks".
What am I doing wrong? I had the same problems before the system loads different icons.
Do you know how to change the keys in the appdrawer?
*android: is requiered because this command is for framework.
if you do not put the framework will read

PART TWO [ IMPORTANT ]
This is how you reach a fancy icons they are noting but icons with Gif kind of animation we call them dynamic
So what's so special about them ?
Heh!!
You need to know som XML tricks like i am going to show you and i will even share my files which you can edit.
So the above metioned picture is an example how to place it.
FOR CALENDAR
Icons
| __ fancy_icons
|__ com.android.calendar
manifest.xml should be place inside the folders with pngs files
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!-- calendar -->
<Icon version="1" frameRate="0" width="136" height="136" screenWidth="720" useVariableUpdater="DateTime.Day">
<VariableBinders>
<BroadcastBinder action="android.intent.action.TIME_SET" />
<BroadcastBinder action="android.intent.action.DATE_CHANGED" />
</VariableBinders>
<Group pivotX="68" pivotY="68">
<Image x="68" y="68" align="center" alignV="center" src="date.png" srcid="#date" />
</Group>
</Icon>
You need to edit them accordingly like i have thepng files settled inside the folder com.android.calendar
For Rotational ICONS
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
<!-- Audio -->
<Icon version="1" frameRate="30" width="192" height="192" screenWidth="1080" >
<Image x="96" y="96" align="center" alignV="center" src="icon_bg.png" />
<Image x="96" y="96" align="center" alignV="center" centerX="59" centerY="59" src="gear.png" >
<RotationAnimation>
<Rotation angle="0" time="0"/>
<Rotation angle="360" time="10000"/>
</RotationAnimation>
</Image>
</Icon>
And place the Two icons inside the subfolders.

Updated to 51.1.5.3_515040320 root rom and Kodi play button doesn't work.

I just installed the newest version of rbox rooted rom 51.1.5.3_515040320. I then put on Kodi and the play button doesn't pause or play the movies. I have tried using adbfire keymaps to fix it but it doesn't seem to work. I can still use on screen controls to play and pause but I really like just pressing one button to pause.
Anyone know of a fix?
I'm not sure that it's the firmware that's to blame. I'm on a much much older firmware, and I just discovered this issue when I upgraded to SPMC 14.2. I was previously running SPMC 13.3.3, and buttons worked fine. But since upgrading, the Play/Pause button doesn't work to pause a video that's playing.
