Music Transfer

Dear Friends,
Please how do I transfer music and pictures from my MacBook to this device? When connected over USB the computer does not recognise the phone though I selected DISC DRIVE on the phone. I am running the latest Opereting system on the laptop. Thanks very much.

Amazon's cloud service worked great for me
You could download doubleTwist and use their AirSync app to sync your music to your device.
You could use Google Music as well.
You could transfer pictures and small amounts of music using the AirDroid app to connect to your device via your machine OTA and wirelessly transfer the files you want to your device.

[Q] Browse files via Windows 7 on rooted i9250?

The i9250 only allows MTP mode when connected to the PC via USB.
My phone is rooted and I would like the ability to transfer files back and forth. Is there an app to allow this?
Thanks

Hi guys,
i made quiet a mistake, i cancelled all contents of my SD card under TWRP, wiped system and i'm now left with no rom on the phone nor on the SD card. How can i make my laptop see my sd card under TWRP in order to tranfer a rom and install it ?
seems when i press on Mount sd card nothing happens..

you need to use adb.
mounting the sdcard does nothing on the nexus as there is no mass storage

You really need to READ. Use a translator if you can't.
from the thread Zepius linked you:
What is the Android SDK and do I need it?
SDK stands for "software development kit. Do you need it? If you are developing, then yes (but then you probably would be reading this thread now would you... ). If you are not developing, then no, you do NOT need to install it. It is just a waste of space. The only files you need (to interface with your PC) that comes from the SDK are the fastboot and adb files, and they can be found here for Windows, Linux, and MacOS.

why doesn't my kindle 10.x.x show up as as drive when I plug it into ubuntu 12.04

The older kindle 6.x.x shows up as a drive and it is easy for me to move files graphically/via the GUI. I'm having trouble doing it with this version. I just rooted it if it matters. Is there a solution?

I assume the old kindle mounts as usb mass storage. The new kindles mount as mtp. You must manually mount the mtp drive in ubuntu. Windows should automatically mount mtp.

Thanks, please excuse my ignorance but how do I do that? I'll try searching for an answer in the meantime and see who gets back here first.
I think I figured it out. Here's what I did.
sudo apt-get install mtp-tools mtpfs

sudo mkdir /media/kindle
sudo chmod 775 /media/kindle

Maybe not. Nothing I move via the GUI is showing up on the kindle. Incredibly frustrated that I can't move files to my kindle.
I use a program called gMTP. Works perfectly.

I tried gMTP before, when I could only boot into TWRP (I needed to copy a rom to flash!)
But gMTP works a lot better when you have a working rom

[Q] Sharing hard-drive plugged into fire TV USB?

Is there an app that will allow me to share whatever drive is plugged into the fire TV?
I'd like to be able to transfer files to it over the network but I can't seem find a way?
Thanks all. :good:
Searched a little deeper and I came up with SambaDroid.... sorry all
Working very nicely.

Well, I spoke too soon.
It works well enough for transferring files through windows, but it doesn't appear to allow me to download via uTorrent directly to the fire.
Comes back with "Error: A device attached to the system is not functioning. (WriteToDisk)"

Tried this out tonight with great results. My whole network can now see my attached usb hardrive. I can also download direct to in from XBMC via addon like Genesis.

Well... I got most of it accomplished, but I'm not able to access my external storage.
I'm able to access \\192.168.1.77\sdcard .....
but I can't figure out how to access the flash drive @ \\192.168.1.77\storage\usb\sda1\
Yeah I guess I'm just missing how to do the most important part here.... access the external drive??
lol ... okay ... so I was using Busybox to auto mount my USB drive and it had a path outside of the sdcard.
now that i'm using stickmount i can access it fine....
I'm no longer getting the errors in uTorrent and the failed downloads, but I'm getting a lot of "Disk Cache overloaded 100%"
Anyone else with this problem?
Also, is it possible to setup stickmount and samba fileshare to start automatically without popping open?

Never had that problem with Cache, mind you I only downloaded a few things from within XBMC.
I think it stickmount and samba fileshare will always start automatically, if you dont want to see the notification on the screen, you just need to turn that off from with stickmount and fileshare.
