Hmmm, been struggling to find the Wi-Fi charging notification sound .ogg file so I can rename it, drives the Mrs nuts when in bed. Anyone know where it is, thx

When I plug my headphones into my Evo the notification sounds still play through the external speaker. The only way to stop them from playing through the external speaker is to put it on vibrate or silent. But then that stops the notifications from playing through the headset too.
Does anyone have a fix or a workaround? Is this just an HTC Sense issue or is this a problem with android? I've looked into using tasker to disable the external speaker when a headset is hooked up but I haven't been able to figure out a way to make that work. Tasker seems to rely on the profiles and none of them support this.
There's a ticket open here: http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=6696. But for some crazy reason this is considered an enhancement. I think this is a pretty serious bug. I mean, who would want ANY sounds coming from the external speaker while a headset is attached?
I feel your pain. Whenever I'm listening to music w/ my headphones, my roommate is able to hear my SMS notifications through my speaker =(
so, uh, bump....anyone have any luck finding a solution to this? doesn't seem to have been fixed with 3.29...
Also interested in this. I was in the library listening to pandora on my headset and I got a call...and the ring played through the speakers! Ahhhh...we need a solution to this!

Hello all. I have a Telus provided stock S3. My headphone jack has started having issues and I'm not sure if it is due to the firmware upgrade that Telus rolled out a few weeks ago or not because it has been at least that long since I last used the headphone jack (I think). On the old firmware the phone used to have a little icon in the notification bar when I plugged them in. Now, it does not do that. It also doesn't seem to be redirecting the sound to the headphones, although I think it may half recognize that they are plugged in. I say this because if I load a youtube video, it plays on the main speaker, and then I plug in the headphones, and while the external speaker goes silent there is nothing coming through on my headphones. I have rebooted the phone. The headphones are known good. Help?
EDIT So, apparently, even though I combed the main settings menu, somewhere on this damned phone (and I mean that lovingly, I just wish the settings were all in one gd spot) there is an option to mute the headphones. How did I stumble upon this? I went to test out the headphone issue by playing a video I recorded with the phone with the headphones plugged in and, lo and behold, on the video, I see an option for volume which was set to mute. Turned it off mute (how it ended up on mute in the first place is beyond me) and it is fixed. I have no bloody idea where else this little icon is located in the vast menus on the phone, but hopefully this will help the next poor soul with the same issue.
tl;dr: Played video recorded with phone with headphones plugged in, found there is a headphone mute setting. Who knew?
Hi, I noticed the other day and today that media (audio from videos and music) had randomly stopped playing through my note 2's speakers, no matter what I did to the sound and volume settings. I have managed to narrow down the problem and have found that this occurs every time after unplugging the MHL cable. I still get sound from notifications, just not from media.
The only way I can find to fix it and get sound back is to reboot.
Does anyone else have this problem? I'm wondering if something is faulty (MHL cable or phone) or if it's a software issue.
I've noticed that I get a lot of noise in the background whenever I'm using my speakers or headphones to play music, and occasionally will get a loud screech for a split second. I thought it was the speakers, but I tried it with a brand new headset and the same thing happens. Anybody know what causes this and how do I fix it?
EDIT: I guess the sound was because I had fast charging enabled and was charging the phone, the sound went away after I unplugged it.

When I connect my G3 to my car stereo via aux, tracks change forwards or backwards, when I give the phone a shake to either left or right. A track also pauses if I shake the phone towards me and starts playing when i shake it away from me. The phone is also very eager to launch Voice Mate when listening music like this.. None of these issues occur if I listen to music with headphones or the phones own speaker. I can't find anything in the settings that would turn this feature/problem off. Has anyone experiences this or know how this could be set off?

This is not a feature, its one of many bugs with the AUX-output. Sometimes you get the voice mate problem, sometimes skip tracks, audio explosions, buzzings and alot of times the output is not recognized at all.
There is a long thread about this on the forum but as far as I know theres no solution to this particular problem yet. Maybe a ground loop isolator solves this problem too?
