Was bluetooth 4.0 ever able to be enabled on the gnex? Any ROMs that support it?
Thanks!
It's a hardware, not software, you can't "enable" it..
The chip is capable of bluetooth 4.0.

It looks like CM *might* have BLE enabled. Can anyone confirm?
It's enabled on kitkat roms I think..if you are using 4.3 stock then install this app:

The bluetooth for sense sounds horrid with loads of static. The aosp bluetooth sounds infinitely better in comparison. Is there any way of getting the aosp version into sense roms?
I has stock sense and a BT jawbone icon... I do great. What BT earpiece are you using?
I'm using BT in my Mazda3
Sorry, to be more specific, it's only for music. Phone calls are just fine. This has been an issue since 2.1 of sense, and has never been an issue with any Cyanogen versions or other AOSP roms like MIUI.
I have this same problem with my hero and my 2010 mazda3.
have yet to figure out why, it has to be something to do with the way htc built android with whatever bluetooth stack. aosp and cyanogen all work 100% on my mazda but sense roms change tempo constantly. Any devs have any ideas about the bluetooth stack used in sense and the one used in aosp? does it have anything to do with the sense framework?
I'm using Bluetooth audio with my Mazda3 2011 and it seems to be pretty good. Been using only Sense ROMs

Hey,
i was wondering why there is no bluetooth hid support (for bluetooth keyboard) in all the sense (hd) roms out there.
what is the reason for this ? is it a matter of kernel or does the framework has to have hid support as well ?
I'd love to see hid support in sense-roms
Framework and all that.
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

Hello,
I have a car, the Citroen C-Elysee with support for Android Auto and MirrorLink; Android Auto works ok, but MirrorLink is not supported on MIUI afaik.
I'd read that MirrorLink has more features than Android Auto, so I'd like to test it
Any custom rom, hack app that by any means could enable it ?
Thanks in advance !
No way. Why don't you use Android Auto with root access

Yep ! I didn't know about it, works awesome !!!
But I crawled a while until I got it to work: Android Auto version < 3 required, and enable unknown sources in Android auto.
Also I've found a newer version "Plus" with some more options.
Thanks a lot.
does it work with VW infotainment (Passat B8, Discover media) ???
Do not want to use AndroidAuto, limited to Google apps only (Idem with Apple and their system).
Any way to install Mirrorlink, tho?
I have a DS5 and it is not compatible with Android Auto, but only with MirrorLink.
You can't install Mirrorlink on the unsupported phone, since this technology uses hardware components, afaik. It is actually dead technology since there is small set of phones supported (check out on the official mirrorlink website)
mirrorlink unsupported with my mi9 and other xiaomi phones. Crying...
Don't like android auto limited to google apps. beeaaarkk !!! ****.
Hey,
I'm currently looking for a smartphone with long battery life and support of HQ sound (LDAC preferred).
I found some ROMs with Android 8.0 and I heard that this version of OS supports LDAC. Does it mean that when I install one of these ROMs, I will be able to use LDAC?

LDAC is included in AOSP since Oreo so you should be able to use it on every 8+ ROM until someone will remove it from his ROM. It is visible in my codec selection menu on LOS15.1 but I can't test it for you since I'm not in possession of any wireless headphones. I believe that you should look for information and how it works on other phones threads too, not only here. There is possibility that Lineage doesn't support this codec itself since stock haven't supported it but I'm not sure about that since LDAC is part of AOSP unlike AptX for example where your phone needs to be certified to allow developers to include this codec in official builds.
Basically you can add any existing bluetooth audio codec to your phone's ROM. There's not any hardware requirements besides bluetooth so I believe that you should be able to use it.
