I flashed NE2 yesterday, and went through the process on my phone to enable encryption, but when I pushed the button that would presumably begin the encryption, it flashed up a picture of the android briefly, then shut off, and about 30 seconds later rebooted.. without doing anything (that I can tell). I'm using the nearly stock ROM (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2768847).
Has anyone been able to get encryption working with NE2 / KitKat? And if so, what ROM did you use, what bootloader, recovery, etc?
Thanks!

I recieved the OTA volume fix for the Galaxy Nexus. IT asked for a reboot. I agreed and the phone counted down, then shutdown, but didn't startup. I waited and waited, for around 2 minutes. The phone remained powered off. I attempted to switch it on, but the power button would not respond, so I removed the battery, and put it back in. It then started up, but still on the old ITL41D software.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so what do I do now, and will I get another opportunity?
Thank you so much
Is your phone rooted?
If yes, I have had the same experience.
Mine is still on 41D

I have the same problem, but other rooted users are not having the same problem. Does anyone have any insight on this?
I'd just flash the updates yourself if your having problems. 41F (volume fix) is already outdated as of yesterday. If you want to stay basically stock and rooted bigxie has the updated ROM(with kernel) that is simply rooted, deodexed, busyboxed.
Download his rom and load it with CWM. ( i clear cache and dalvik before flashing the new rom and everything was smooth). I then flashed the updated bootloader with fastboot.
I have read several other threads but no one ever quite seemed to resolve the problem. Shortly after i unlocked my phone (freegee method) i decided to switch back from aosp to stock. after it connected to wifi or data network my phone reboots every time it connects. i tried using a teeny bin but it changes my bootloader and i think thats whats causing my bootloops when i try to provision it. flashing a full stock bin isnt helping either because my phone refuses to fully boot up its just hanging at the bootanimation.
so essentially i can flash myself into a stock based rom but i cant provision anything or switch roms because ill have to repeat the whole process.

you need to do a full wipe. This happened to me as well before. This is how I fixed it
in TWRP, go to advance wipe, and wipe system along with data, davilk, an cache. This will fully wipe your rom so be prepared to install a rom afterwards. It will not wipe your sdcard.
Th a t was the first thing i tried. I would like to just be able to flash a full bin at this point. Im really not sure why its not booting fully after flashing and i havent even been able to get a bugreport. If anyone knows how to pull apart one of the bins and all the partitions of this phone ill just do everything 1 by 1
Lngpst to stock (unrooted and locked), root it, use the freegee special sbl unlock method, then flash. I have the sane thing happen every time I try to come back to a stock based ROM after going aosp based. Reboots on any data connectivity.

Every time I try to restore with lgnpst it'll hang up at the boot animation and refuse to fully boot. I used the full zvb to try it. Ive already downloaded it twice in case I had a bad file. Right now I kinda want to know why our phone s do this.

1. How and/or what is being changed on the bootloader? Do you mean recovery?
2. When you flash back to stock from ASOP, is it hanging at the 4GLTE screen? If that's what you mean then:
3. If you're stuck at the 4glte screen: To get to stock recovery - Power off phone. You need to hold power button for about 20 sec to get it to turn off. Then press and hold vol down+power - The LG logo will come on, then the capacitive lights. Immediatly let go when the capacitive lights turn on. It takes a few seconds to work. Data wipe/Factory reset. Reboot.
Hi...I've searched everywhere and I haven't seen anything close to my issue. But if there is and I missed it I apologize in advance and I appreciate any help/advice.
Well I rooted my phone from 4.3 with no issues. I used safe root so it wouldnt trip knox. I flashed sokp's 4.4.2 ROM with the proper gapps and agni kernel. My issue started after I tried updating my camera with photosphere 4.3. I went to use the 3d feature and it shut my phone off and started to loop. Also flashed the camera fix zip but that didn't help either. I got into recovery using cwm and wiped everything from the cache to data, almost to the point of no service. So i flashed beanstalk 4.3 rom hoping it would solve problem but it didn't. I even did a factory reset (didnt work) and found a rooted stock ROM I flashed thru Odin then back to beanstalk, all to no avail. Now I have to keep my phone plugged into a power source in order for my phone load past "sgn2" screen. And if I unplug it then it resets phone and loops. I also noticed that with beanstalk I have no kernel(well it reads unavailable). I was thinking that maybe after the camera failed that some data or something maybe corrupted. Is there a way to wipe everything to the beginning, like fresh from at&t, so It will stop looping and I don't have to keep my phone plugged into the wall?
Also with mean bean I can uplug my phone for a few min before it resets but if I try to open any apps it resets. It seems as though my phone isn't getting enough power.
Again all help is greatly appreciated
I have been having problems with my phone recently. It's a galaxy note 2 and has Phoenix ROM on it. It's using a 4.4.2 ROM, but it was upgraded from a 4.3 ROM. I was using my phone on 4.3 ROM and after a while it started to get problems with restarting randomly and it kept losing root permissions, so i decided to try to fix it by putting a new ROM on. That didn't work, so i rerooted the phone and, reflashed the recovery formatted my entire device and fixed partitions. This fixed the permission problems, but my phone still keeps having issues. It keeps restarting randomly and the phone often won't respond when the power button is pressed, whether or not the screen is on. I also have a gesture suite that allows me to turn off the screen if i do a gesture, but this isn't working to turn it off either. The ROM also flashed a new kernel, so it can't be the kernel.
Bump. Can anyone help? This is making my phone unusable.
Could be the bootloader. .. you need at least mj5 bootloader or the newer bootloader. .. reboots happen with older bootloader

I have finally decided to update my N7100.
I did a full factory reset and wipe and have flashed the stock 4.4.2 Rom using Odin.
System status is official and knox warranty void is 0, as this is stock.
After turning on the phone, I am able to enter my PIN code and the phone works for about 20-30 seconds, then the screen stops reacting. Screen stays on but the phone does not reboot. When I reboot it freezes after the same amount of time.
I have tried flashing the rom again (MD5 is correct) and doing factory reset in the stock recovery.
None of this helped. Sometimes it freezes during the phone setup before I can put in my login info.
I should still have warranty but it was rooted on 4.1.2 and I am not sure if they can detect that.
Is there anything you think I can do before contacting Samsung? The phone worked fine before the update.
