Hey guys,
There are absolutely no posts on G3 AT&T android development, and I am an extremely impatient person. I grabbed the bump'd unlock the day of its release and I was wondering if it was possible to flash a D851 AOSP rom on the D850 :fingers-crossed: . What would happen? Would it run or are we talking about an immediate soft/hard brick? I figured both the D851 and D850 are super similar, having the same hardware and being GSM... however, the slight differences in radios and what not might be an issue. What do you guys think?

Please re-read the thread for Bump. In order for you to flash a ROM it will have to be Bump'd for your device. @thecubed and @Shelnutt2 (perhaps others) are currently working on finalizing the Bump process so that ROMs can be Bump'd. Just hang in there-these guys work fast, but they also work methodically to prevent issues.
thanks for the piece of mind. I figured the devs just didnt want to release a sloppy product. I cant wait for cyanogenmod for my att lg g3. Im knew here so id like to show my support with a pledge of $20 to a dev working on my model phone. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

All,
Wondering what is the general rule of thumb about flashing the international firmware(think they on M version now?) and flashing the 855 Roms? How badly will this effect my 850 At&t G3? Can I even doing it without bricking my phone?
Thanks for any opinion.

Unless said otherwise, you should never flash a ROM that was made for a different version of the one you own.
Also, chances are that it won't even let you flash it cause of the updater-script (fail safe).
Got it! So I'm pretty much stuck with waiting for AT&T to update the firmware of my phone. I'm more concerned about firmware rather than ROM's since the AT&T version is still on the 'D' version of LG's firmware and the international version already on 'N'. Would like to update the firmware ASAP to fix some bugs.

You can try the modified international stock ROM from AndroidUser00110001, you can find it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-lg-g3/development/rom-poweruser-edition-v1-modified-t2930038
I'm backing up things to try it :fingers-crossed:
Hey all. I am new to this scene and have been seeing lollipop builds for the D855 variant of our phones. would anyone know if there will be a lollipop build for the D852 Canadian variant of our phones? I am guessing it is unsafe to attempt to use the D855 build on the D852. Cheers.

I think so, i'm fairly new to the LG scene but hardware wise we're exactly the same as AT&T models aside from a locked bootloader so I can't see it taking very long for a port. Its been that way for every HTC/Samsung I've had here so I see this being no different.
I've tried flashing both the D855 and D850 builds onto my D852 with no success. After modifying the updater-script and build prop the best I got was getting to the LG splash screen then it would reboot into recovery. I'm really interested to know how to port this over. If there is a process to be learnt we could use it for all the builds coming out for the other variants. I hope a dev steps in to help us out!

Unfortunately it cant be flashed or ported due to the fact that the kernel signature has to match your exact device so it must be compiled for your device from source. I know @Ariesdroid is working to get some stuff going for your device, though I have no idea if it is CM12 or not.
Absolutely we will.
Awesome, thx for the info guys, looking forward to the update.
Thanks for the info guys, i can't wait to see some cm12 come out for our device

Our team is getting all the nexus/moto devices and others going first unfortunately....I am just the graphics guy on the team. They are trying to get Validus and Tesla Kitkat ROMs to boot for my d852 so i can at least use our ROMs on the g3 for now....but 5.0 versions will follow with time....
Some cm 12 would be nice as well to play around with....I heard a rumor that it might happen soon...:angel:

Will it be compatible with d852G?
Cm12 lg g3 d852
I flashed the Unoficial-CM12 one on mine last night, and so far so good, no problems yet. Everything is working fine. Let me know you want to know how I did so, and I can put together a list of how-to. Also, if you want I can report any problems or bugs.
Hi,
I have the F400K variant currently running on stock Lollipop.
Just wondering what people think is the best ROM for me to flash.
I'm debating AndroidHD and CloudyG3 since those seem to be the big two, but would consider other ROMS like CM (but no official support at the moment).
ROMs nowadays have built-in updates without having the need to flash via a computer, right? I haven't used an Android phone since the original Optimus G, so I'm very out of loop.
Thanks.
There is no best rom.
ps. thread will get locked

There's a very small chance somebody is going to spoonfed you every detail and everything you need to know about this device on the forums. Please look through the XDA forums if you have any questions or simply use Google.
Like DelBoy said, there is no best ROM because tastes differ. Flash whatever you like. There is no good or bad.

Hi,
I searched already on XDA as well as on the LGG3 subreddit and found no threads such as the like, and therefore made this posting.
In no way am I asking to be spoonfed "every" detail, I simply asked two questions.
But thank you for your insight. I'm going to give CloudyG3 a go.
Hi, i bought an LG G2 with the model number at the back saying LS980, from sprint, but when i go to settings to see the software version it says that its D802 with rayglobe flex 3.5 running 4.2.2 jelly bean.
I want to update to at least kitkat 4.4, but i dont know from where to start...
As extra info. Im using my G2 with another carrier... So i dont want to lose my unlocked functionality. I did a bit of research on the subject and by what I've read when people remove the D802 and put the stock firmware they lose their modem/wify functionality and some other stuff happens to the cellphone.
So thats why im saying " i dont know from where to start..." hope someone can shed some light on this subject and point my to at least the starting point.
Thanks!

Yes when you tot back to stock you will lose that. Though if you go here you can get your Sim working again.

What happens if I try and flash an att ROM on my ls990? I have att service and this sprint model g3 and so far I can only use the dirty unicorns ROM. Its good but I would like to try others. The guides on unlocks dont seem to work for me. I am aware some methods work on zv4/zv6 and others on zv8 but I can't seem to make any of them work. I'm just convinced the best thing to do is get a ROM that is already gsm enabled and so far DU is the only one in the sprint g3 section I have found that works. It would be amazing to have an att ROM on this phone model, so how can I accomplish that?
Bump, no answers? I know its a stupid question but whatever
