D855 32Gb/3Gb
When I first got this phone "Ok Google" worked fine with Nova and also the stock launcher (not with Apex), but it has since stopped working.
My Settings are:
Google Now - ON
Voice Language - English (US)
Speech Output - ON
Audio History - ON
"Ok Google" Detection from Google search app - ON
"Ok Google" Detection from any screen - ON
When I turn on that last setting it takes me to a calibration screen where I have to say "Ok Google" three times, but it doesn't even detect me saying it at all. When I manually open the google search app, voice is detected just fine
The microphone in the Google search widget stays hollowed out constantly (it's supposed to be filled when "Ok Google" is available)
I have all my apps including my launchers updated.
What the hell is going on? Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Mine is set up the same way, but doesn't have the box filled in saying OK Google but still works fine :/

Exact same problem here. It's not even working in the calibration screen. It used to work fine. Did you resolve this yet?
Yes, When I updated the software to the latest available (10g) Ok Google started working Ok.

Thanks. I solved my issue also. I had one of the pressy type buttons inserted in the headphone jack. The case I have covers it up pretty well and I haven't messed with it in a long time. I use it mostly as a dust plug. When I reimaged back to stock yesterday the play store didn't restore the button app since it was an apk that I installed manually. When the app isn't installed the phone thinks a headphone set with mic is installed and the phone mic is turned off. I feel dumb now.
Disable LG OSP fixed the problem for me

I think you meant LS "OSP", but yeah, that's what did it for me as well.

"Ok Google" is not working for me on a rooted D851 with 10m firmware. I have tried to enable it and the calibration screen where I am supposed to say "Ok Google" 3 times never responds to my voice.
I'm running Nova Launcher which is also supposed to enable this feature from any screen. But that is not working. I've tried disabling the Nova Launcher setting...does not work with or without Nova Launcher's "Ok Google" setting turned on.
"Ok Google" does not even work from the Google search screen.
So....what is this LS OSP or LG ONP or LG OSP setting / feature I need to disable? Can't find any reference to those 3 or where to disable it.

OSP is On Screen Phone. It came with the LG G2, but for some reason not the G3. There was a work around to install it on the G3 (if you were rooted) but it ended up disabling the "OK Google" feature. Seems like removing the OSP app fixed it.
If you do not have OSP installed, you are likely having another issue.

Soooo did anybody get a real answer on how to fix the ok google on the g3
OK Google hotword detection doesn't work at all for me. I can manually select the microphone in Google Now and voice search works, but it doesn't detect OK Google. Furthermore I can't set up OK Google hotword detection from any screen. I can get to the screen where it says to say OK Google three times, which I do, but nothing at all happens. Audio History is on, language is English (US). I don't see any setting on the phone or in Google that would seem to block it.
Weirdly this post was originally only going to be about setting up the hotword detection from any screen, I've never been able to set that up, but at the very least, detection from Google Now worked fine. But just testing it when typing this post up, I realized that even that doesn't work anymore, but it did like a week ago.
I'm rooted but basically stock, no custom recovery. Only change would be deleting a couple stock apps and adding back/home/menu softkeys at the bottom of the screen. What gives? Anyone have an idea?
Simple as disabling on screen phone in settings
I had the same problem and disabling on screen phone in settings fixed it instantly.
So I've found an annoying glitch...
On my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 at&t I've enabled google now/ voice search.
Whenever I go into settings>voice>"ok google" detection and enable "From any screen", it will work one time, but after I hit home, it will not detect "ok google" from any screen, other than long pressing Home.
I've worked to try troubleshooting it myself, and have disabled the darned, piss-off S-Voice crap, but have had no luck.
Also I've noticed that the one initial time you are able to open voice search from any screen, the voice search app UI will not show up, unless the search bar is enabled on your desktop. (I'm using nova launcher, so I'll test with "Google Now" launcher also).
Other than that, anyone else know of a way to fix this? One result I've found while googling this issue is enabled English as your primary language... Did not help.
Thanks!
UPDATE:
Google Now Launcher:
Similar problem, but mostly works from Home screen.
Still no "from any screen" capabilities. smh
I wake up the screen, say "OK Google" and the "speak now" command pops up, but that's as far as I can get. I've been trying to send a text, start the stopwatch, open the calendar, but nothing happens.
I have Android wear installed (v1.1.1.2016316)
Google Settings (v4.9.22.19.arm)
Phone: Xperia Z2 running LP unrooted.
SW3 unrooted.
Hi, I've the same issue.
I found that if I open google now on my phone and activate once "Ok Google" then it works also on my SW3.
Any suggestion?
So I installed xposed module "assistant enabler" with the beta google app to use google assistant. Unfortunately any time I say "ok google" it asks me to retrain the voice command and repeat "ok google" 3 times for it. This is EVERY SINGLE USE. Obviously there is an issue here, I just don't know what could be causing it. If I hold down the home button for access, this doesn't happen, only if I access it using voice. For what it's worth, I'm on Note4Grace 10/11/16 build.
Has anyone had this issue and found a fix?
