Having s-off'd, unlocked and "Super cid'd etc, can the original cid, HTC__001, be returned using the same commands ? Obviously changing the 11111111 to HTC_001 in the fastboot command.
Don't intend doing it, just curious.
Thanks

Once the bootloader is unlocked (via HTCDev) can the CID be changed to an another region using the "fastboot oem writecid " command?
Not without S-OFF
we have to wait some more.........xD
With the Evo 3D it was possible even with S-On.
I just tried this command
fastboot oem writecid HTC__001
But it failed. I tried this while my bootloader is locked. Should I unlock it and then try again?
You need s-off and it is impossible at the moment.

gurr That s-off again I don't get jellybean from h3g. don't get s-off from HTC
I'm following vomer's guide but had to use sunshine since firewater didn't work. I noticed that my cid says t-mobo10 something like that opposed to the 1111111111. It does say s-off but does this mean that I won't be able to do anything?

CID has nothing to do with s-off. You can however change the CID to anything you want once you are s-off.
If you wanted to change CID to SuperCID, this is the command:
fastboot oem writecid 11111111

Hi, I've been on xda forum for a couple of years.
Since HTC Desire HD way back in day of Android Froyo.
Owned a few HTC phones, Nexus 5 plus Samsung Note 3 & Note 4.
Plenty experience of rooting and flashing.
Including changing MID (Model id) and CID back and forth
EG changed M7 WWE to Google phone edition.
My problem is I own M9 hima WWE
Model is 0PJA10000
CID HTC__001
I am S off and unlocked.
I changed to hima att by changing mid to 0PJA11000
CID changed to 11111111
I did this to allow mm to be installed via USA developer ruu.
Now WWE version 3.35.401.12 is available I was trying to change back to original mid 0PJA10000 & CID back to HTC__001
using usual command
Fastboot (HTC_fast boot) oem writeMID 0PJA10000
& fastboot oem writeCID HTC__001
It appears to execute commands but doesn't change mid and cid
Any help appreciated
PS I have previously changed my M9 mid and cid to developer edition and back to WWE (.401)
If you change the mid and cid wouldn't that bork the software currently on it seeing as the software is locked?.

No the intention is to change mid and cid back to wwe then flash .401 firmware then rom based on WWE version of marshmallow
Is it possible to add a CID in a RUU.zip?
I have a bricked phone without oem rebootRUU working, so I was trying to flash a zip RUU. I tried to replace a random one but it gives me error
I have 11111111 which should be universal, but I think it doesn't work anymore like previous phones, so I wanted to add it since I can't change my CID
Thank you for your help.

Does your MID match the RUU? I had some difficulty flashing an RUU despite having SuperCID because the MID didn't match.
