Never take an OTA when not on complete stock, taking this update might just bring you back to unrooted stock, however it might brick you.
Okkay , Thanks For Your Great Information

RUU, or flash back to a stock backup, without the kernel changes, and unroot.

Hi,
I have a Nexus and I am still waiting for my OTA update
for Jellybean while my friend just recently bought a
Nexus S that came with Android 4.0.4 out of the box and
the moment I connected it to WiFi it automatically
updated the device to 4.1.1 Jellybean. Why have I not
been able to get my 4.1.1 Update?. the 4.0.4 update on my
phone was done automatically OTA, so I don't understand
why is my device not updating to 4.1.1?.
here is my system information.

Thanks.
You have a yakjuzs version, which gets updated by samsung not google. Im guessing it has rtl support in the menus (arabic)
You have two options:
1. Wait for the update from samsung, going to take two months or less to hit your phone. Or
2. Flash a yakju image from google, your bootloader needs to be unlocked. You will be the first to receive updates from google, jellybean has rtl support ( arabic menus) but unlocking the bootloader and flashing a stock image will wipe your phone and your mass storage.
Its been discussed a lot here in the forums, you can follow any guide to unlock your bootloader and flash a stock image. If you know what are you doing, you can use a tool kit to get the job done.
Hey guys! First off i just wanted to say hi to my fellow nexus owners. I just got mine today and i can't wait to start using it. Here's the problem. When i bought the Nexus the previous owner upgraded it to 4.1.2 since it was rooted. The issue with what he did is that there is no google account on my phone. This means no google play, gmail, google waller etc. To make it worse i went to the rooting app (super Use I think?) and clicked unroot. I thought it would unroot my phone and all the google related apps would come back. They didn't and i deleted the rooting app I am now stuck with a rooted phone with no rooting app and i can't get any apps including marketplace. I know i'm supposed to flash a rom that will have google but the problem is that all the tutorials ask to make sure you have one of the 10 - 15 build numbers and phone models the phones come with. But my phone doesn't have them because it was rooted. What do i do?

do you have any basic flashing skills? and which carrier?
I have the basic skills. I've did it on my old galaxy ace. But when i did it everything was on the factory defaults. I'm worried i might mess up because he already rooted and flashed a rom on the phone. I just need some instructions on what i should do first. I was thinking i should re-root my phone and then just apply another, more reliable rom. Maybe the 4.1.1. Another problem is that on the tool kit there is no option for 4.1.2 and the weird build number i have.

Just return the device to factory settings by flashing the Google images. I'd never trust the firmware that someone else put on a phone.
Hi,
I've been reading allot but I got lost a bit.
I have an i9195 LTE bought in Germany (but not used in Germany), and the biggest problem I have is the low volume of the device. I can barely hear the ring.
I decided to wait for the KitKat update to see if triggering KNOX will cause problems.
I tried the safe root which did not work for me.
Should I update to KitKat and then root? Will the update itself improve the volume issues?
Do you recommend updating to KitKat or will it bring more problems?
Important: I "unlocked" the device in Germany with a local sim, the update should not reverse this, right?
I am also missing the option to choose LTE network, how can I fix this?
Many Thanks !
Details of my device:

Secure boot status: Samsung
anyone please?
Waiting for an answer too, volume is quite low yeah but I've read KitKat users have many bugs and it is better to stick to 4.2.2 for a lil bit..
NO!!! .. you have ml4 i think it doesnt have knox !! .. wait as the kitkat wont help you .. just wait for a stock no-knox rom and flash my volume boosting mod
It does have knox, and from what I read it doesn't have saferoot available.
It's hard to follow all the threads regarding the rooting options and possible issues I will encounter, so I hope someone could recommend me what to do..
* The main issue that bothers me is the volume, which I need root to fix.
* If I root will it be problematic to upgrade to KitKat?
* Is KitKat better or should I stick with 4.2 ?
Thanks !!
Hey there folks! I'm looking to root my S4 but I'm having trouble locating the files I need to download so I can be rooted & if I can still root my S4.
My S4 Info
Model #: SGH-M919
Android Version: 4.4.4
Baseband Version: M919UVUFNK2
Kernel Version: 3.4.0-2437203 [email protected] #1 Mon Nov 17 19:20 KST 2014
Build Number: KTU84P.M919UVUFNK2
SE for Android Status: Enforcing SEPF_SGH-M919_4.4.4_0032 Wed Oct 15 17:16:50
Secure Boot Status: Samsung
Security Software Version:
MDF v1.0 Release 3
VPN v1.4 Release 2
So with all of this info, can someone please direct me (preferably via a link to the proper thread) to ALL the files I need in order to root. I've been browsing through some of the How-To threads already but nothing is really set-in-stone if the FNK2 4.4.4 Firmware is rootable? I've also been out of the Root Game for a long while (over a year) since I last rooted anything and I totally forgot how to root. So can someone remind me how to root? For my build# S4, do I use the drag-and-drop file loading OR Odin 3.6 program on a computer to do it?? Also, keep-in-mind.... I want to keep root as close as possible to stock 4.4.4.
Thank you for any detailed info.
I second this, I have the same build and all that but the only thing I can really find on it is to downgrade to 4.4.2 and do towel root. Not sure if this is the only way or not currently.
Google Chainfire's S4 root.
http://autoroot.chainfire.eu
Pp.
So this is the closest thing I found on the www.autoroot.chainfire.eu site:
samsung SGH-M919 jfltetmo jfltetmo MSM8960 msm8960 KTU84P.M919UVUFNH7 4.4.4 24 067 069 Download b354bc04aa16351305edfd33e85a58bf 212 032
Ummm.... I'm gonna say what I found above ^ is not the same as the Build# FNK2 that I have? Sooooo what happens now, because that still does not rectify the issue at-hand? Now correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't I brick my S4 if it tries to flash the FNH7 over my FNK2? Yeah, I don't want to do that because it would be a compatibility issue right? So like it was mentioned before, can rooting be accomplished for the FNK2 Build?
- Is it just not possible,
- is it not possible at this time because it has yet to be worked on,
OR
- do I just "test" this overwrite method of flashing FNH7 over my FNK2 and most likely end up screwing myself over with a bricked S4 because I'm going off someone's "it will/should work" (untested) hypothesis??
Note: Details about what someone did to get an FNK2 Build S4 rooted would be really nice.
Thank you.
It still works lol. Do it the same way as you would with nh7. You're not flashing firmware, just rooting. Use chainfires autoroot in odin then odin twrp or whichever recovery you prefer and you're in business. I'm running nk2 rooted right now.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using Tapatalk
Relax Spicy, Mr big is correct your not flashing firmware, it's just a temporary recovery that allows a root exploit to take place.
You then flash the corresponding recovery for your phone and now you enter the *bricking* zone, if you don't read that is.
I recommend CWM over twrp.

Hi all,
So after 2 years with an HD Revolution I decided to upgrade... to new Revolution with Marshmallow. Eveyrthing seems fine apart from not being able to turn on WIFI? Is there anything which I have missed or shall I go back to previous Android version?
I also tried to install Android V5 but WIFI still not turn on. Anyone has any ideas of what it could be?
