[Q] Q. Will we have PS4 remote play after Root - Sprint Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

That will be my main goal after hotspot. Next Question is... will the Z3 controller attaching jig work with N4. That would be Awesome.
http://www.themobimag.com/tag/ps4-remote-play-mod/
Couldnt read that last article. Popup sucks. Found my answer here.

Jig is my question now.

no idea, but you can always try it. There is a thread with the APK and instructions on how to try it out. Personally, it wasn't a must have for me. But could be an interesting tinker toy project for a weekend.

Old thread, but I went over to the PS4 Remote Play thread and used the most-thanked method, and now I have remote play on my Note 4! Only problems are that after each reboot I have to reinstall the remote play app (which is not a big deal), and the controller doesnt work. But thats for all non-Z3 phones. Other than that it works perfectly.

Hi people.
aThe ability to have access to all those retro games, which I by the way often enjoy more than recent games as they mostly are nothing but eyecandy, was an important point for me to get an Android device.
At the moment I am kind of pissed. I just searched for SNESoid and couldnt find it in the Market. Did it get pulled?
Is there some other way than the market to get this app?
Apparently i failed to give this thread a title. Sorry about this, its my first one.

You can edit the title
Anyways ..
There is Snes9x EX or sega Genesis ...both give you the retro games ......
yes Snesoid (and the dev and all his software )got pulled becouse SEGA was *****ing
Thanks for the Info.
By now I found out, that the developers account in the market was deleted.
For now he posted all his emulators in another appstore, (am not able to post the URL, but just google for "SlideMe") , for now they are even all free. I think its a shame that Google pulled his apps, as they were a real plus for the android platform giving you access to a LOT of "real" games.
BTW: I still cant figure out how to change this threads title...

[Q] Looking for help getting Ouya controller working on PC

Had my Ouya for over a month and... haven't really used it much. Got a lot on my plate and this thing is too brickable for someone like me to mess with. I'm hoping that the public release will include some surprises (really, I just hope it becomes worth the $99 I paid a year ago). Like everyone else around here, I'm pretty bummed out that the Ouya people completely lied about this system being hacker-friendly, and the games available on their store... um.... pretty much all suck. Installed amazon app store and nova launcher BTW. Improvement, but not so much as would make me choose to use the ouya over my ps3, computer, tablet, or.... um.... a block of wood. (wow, didn't intend to rant. sorry).
In the meantime, I'd like to use the controller with some of my steam games. It's unbelievably simple to connect it to my PC, and it is recognized as an Ouya controller, but the buttons are mapped... strangely. For the life of me I can't understand why remapping the buttons is not built into windows. So.... anyone know how to do this?
Thanks in advance.
Try the utility used for the Logitech Game Pad.

If the Ouya shows up as a "game controller", then you can map it. Look for the option in my screen shot attached below.

Unless I'm doing something wrong, that doesn't appear to work. The ouya controller comes up as a game controller (even when you use the "game controllers" link in the tray menu) but the "profiler" says that it does not detect any game controllers. I uninstalled and reinstalled the ouya controller to see if that would make a difference.
This is a bit ridiculous. An "open" system that you can't hack and can't repurpose. This thing is going to flop so badly at retail it's painful to think about it.
there are no drivers. You're more hoping that generic HID gamepad drivers are going to work. And CoachClass said to try it. He/she didn't claim it was going to work. Obviously, he/she has some experience or read of others using other controllers with it and that it if showed in the spot, it usually worked.
Now, if the controller actually turns out to be worthwhile, someone will create some kind of app to use it on the PC. Be patient, the console hasn't even been released to the public, so it's still in beta.

By your tone I'll assume you think I said something rude to CoachClass. I think you should reread my comment. I was just reporting back that I tried the suggestion and it didn't work. I appreciated the suggestion.

I'm not doubting my tone came off harsh or a bit rude. Collateral damage from other things. Nonetheless, I'm not going to excuse what I said, came off more harsh than intended. My tone was more overall to the post overall given the last line of your post. The other comments were more implied based off that line.
But what I said was true about the drivers, and the need to be patient for them to come along. If you like the controller, it may be worth while to ask Ouya to create the drivers at some point in the future.

I'm alright, we're cool.
I'm getting my Ouya next week, so I'll be able to play with it a little. I understand some of the disappointment. Ouya would be better as a pure Android machine. I won't referee whether the company lived up to their promise of making an open system or not. I could see that they meant open as in anyone could develop a game for it, but the rest of XDA wants a system that we can play with.
But, I'm still looking forward to using it for some of the things we know works. It would be nice if the Ouya controller can be repurposed as a PC controller, or even phone/tablet controller, but I'm glad other controllers (PS3, Logitech) could be used on the Ouya. That's a plus, so I'd give them credit for that.
Anyways, hope with more people working on the Ouya it'll be able to satisfy our expectations. I'm glad for everyone who's on this forum and generating ideas and trying out stuff.

Hey, wait a minute. Has anyone tried connecting the Ouya to their phone/tablet?
There's a bluetooth gamepad call the Moga. On the playstore, you can find an app for it. Not sure if that helps.

I connected mine to my galaxy tab 2 today, you need to hold the middle button down to get it to pair.
I was trying to figure out Tincore Keymapper, but it doesn't have very good documentation and the tutorial on YouTube skips a lot of early steps and moves way to fast.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tincore.and.keymapper
Hopefully something similar will be available for Windows.

Bump, has anyone figured this out?
I used a Bluetooth USB dongle and the controller connects and is recognized as "OUYA Game Controller" in Win7 Devices but the buttons don't work with anything/arent mapped. In the Device Calibration I can light up all 16 buttons with the controller but outside of that they dont work. The touchpad works to move the mouse & click but nothing else.

Minecraft?

I have seen videos on the internet of people playing minecraft on the ouya. I loaded it from my gs2 and the controlls dont work at all. What can I do to make it work???

Apparently everyone is either content with what they have (including me) and don't bother adding too much stuff, or they have given up on the OUYA and they curse the day
Anyway, to stay on the topic, I tried a handful of stuff and apps but I could never get it to work. The new Amazon Fire TV has a special edition of the Minecraft that works with only their controller. So either someone finds a way to rip it off and port it to the OUYA, or you have to wait for the coming 1.0 version which the developers said it would probably have controller support.
I know this doesn't help, but even all the people asked in the youtube video comments but the guy never answered. I also seen a post on Google+ saying he is playing Minecraft on Hisense Google TV but again, he never answered my question...

[Q] how to give remote support on Fire TV/Fire TV Stick

I tried searching the forum and Google, can't find an answer. I am trying to be able to remotely provide tech support to Fire Tv's/Sticks, anybody knows how? I tried Teamviewer Quicksupport but wasn't able to remote in like on computers. Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

If you are rooted, Teamviewer Quicksupport works well. When you are rooted and a remote access is requested, you will be asked to grant root access once so the remote view can work. I use it all the time for my parent's firetv overseas and am glad they are rooted.
I also tried contacting Teamviewer on this and their response was around Amazon will not approve their app for remote.
For my parent's firetv, it wasn't rooted, so I sold it on ebay and repurchased another one which could be rooted. Total net loss was about $25.

This seems really useful. I'm rooted but had some trouble connecting last night. Is it a paid app? I saw there was a full version but what does the free version get?
I already have a few ways to connect remotely to my computers so this would primarily be for my aftvs. Might come in handy if I'm at work and my wife has problems with it (which happens often)

I don't know about the paid version or the free version. I have a version of apk at home which I can send to you if you like. Just install that and you will have full remote capability. I didn't know there was a paid version of quicksupport. I have most of the needed apk's and have a batch file which installs all of them for a new firetv that I build for friends and family.

Yes please. That'd be great! Maybe I got it wrong. A quick search brought me to the site and it does say full version but it says free as well. And there's a number for sales and one for tech support? Never seen that but haven't looked to deeply. Could be like an open source type deal which is donation optional for personal use but you need a license for business. Anyways, yes I'd like to try your apk when you have time. Thanks!

Do you know how to download the apk and install it? If you don't have google play installed?

Thanks! Oh yeah, I can definetly manage the apk install lol. I think I just got a little confused with the setup. When I installed it the other nite it asked for a remote but then the only other thing I found was quicksupport (which I assumed you'd install on your android phone/tablet). That combined with the fact I thought it might be a paid app just made me think your apk was different. But I'll get it working.
I'm really surprised this is a free service. I use to have a similar app for Mac which was free app a few years back then they started charging. I actually don't even bother telling my parents about kodi because if it has issues they won't be able to fix it, but if I can do that remotely it changes things. I appreciate the time. Sorry for the miscommunication.
Not a problem. Let me know how it works for you. You need root to enable screen sharing and the first time you request remote access supersu will prompt for root access confirmation. Teamviewer is free for personal and household use and no adds. It's really good.
Good luck

I haven't had loads of time to figure this out but might know why I'm struggling. Can teamviwer not remotely connect from android to aftv? I've been trying to do it with my phone and then my tablet but do you need to use a PC or Mac as your remote?
That's the only reason I can think as to why I can't get it to work. But for me, it'd be a lot more convenient if I could use my phone/tablet since those are the devices I always have on hand or very close by.

I've been having issues with quick support only allowing screen sharing. I have a rooted fire tv 2 and a rooted Fire tv stick 4k and i'm running the same file you linked to
on the google play store. It never asked me to grant root permission like other apps have.
In the advanced setting of quick support there used to be an option to "Install Additional Add-Ons " but now that is always grayed out. So the only other thing i can
come up with is to find the Addon's or through adb manually allow root access to the quick support.apk.
It's doesn't make sense. this used to work on rooted Fire Tv's but not any longer. You post is now 5 years old and i'm wondering if your having the same issues i am.

Xperia XA1 Root? Or anyway to use PS4 Remote Play?

Hey,
So after trolling many forums and threads I cannot find any root for the XA1. I only need a root to run a workaround for the PS4 Remote Play app so if any one knows of any root available or any way to force Remote Play to work?
I can see a root would be available through One Click Root however this is chargeable.
Any help would be great also I'm a massive noob so dumbed down please.
Thank you
the one click root is a scam, I tried it and then they said "oh we have to do it manually" then I waited like 5 hours for a "Technical export" and then he said he didn't know how to root my phone (XA1 Plus) I asked for refund and got it.
