Hey guys,
Could anyone tell me how to unroot the Korean f400k G3 without wiping data and partition of my device?
Thanks
Bump anyone?
It depends on what you are trying to accomplish by unrooting. You can open SU and go into settings then hit full unroot. This will not erase any data.
If you need to reset the root check took on your phone as well then you have to flash a kdz or tot and DLL. (This will wipe your phone)

SO I have an LG G3. I updated in to Lollipop OTA, so I had to downgrade it to Kitkat to root it. Before downgrading, I made a backup of my data through LGbackup. I have that file saved on my computer. Anyways, I moved on, downgraded it, rooted it, and flashed it with Cyanogenmod 12. How can I restore that backup? There is no option for restoring it like it previously was on stock LG settings. Please help me. Is there any way to restore my LGbackup or do I have to go back to stock LG kitkat to restore it? Thank you.

Hello,
If I get a G3 and root before updating it to lollipop, then full unroot it and then update it to lollipop, will I get back the warranty?I just need the root to restore my data from my previous device to it quickly with titanium backup. Is there a way to restore with titanium backup all the apps+data without root? And does the one-click root (stump) work?
Please reply,
Thanks!

If you have a D855 follow the steps below
Just do this
Upgrade to Lollipop
Root using the Lollipop root methid
Restore Titanium Backup
Flash KDZ using "Normal Flash" mode in LG Flash Tool 2014 to remove root
After following those steps, LG RCT (Root checker) in Service Settings should report that your phone isnt rooted and you should be fine when you take it in
afaik, full unroot and restoring to stock lg firmware removes all traces of root, thus 'regaining' your warranty

Does that mean I'm going to lose my data?
well, you can upgrade your software via programs like LG flash tool 2014, which will remove twrp and root, and keep your data untouched, but whether or not traces of root remain, I don't know.
completely restoring it will definitely remove your data

Just noticed when updating my V20F to V20H that it didnt remove busybox
Just something to keep in mind
Hello,
Everyone I have a problem with my LG G4. I rooted it a few months ago and now I ran into a problem so I decided to do a factory reset in hopes to get a clean stock version. After the phone was cleaned off I noticed that Super SU was still installed which I thought was weird so I checked the rooted status and it was still rooted. I have no idea how it could still be rooted after a factory reset. I want to do all the updates for the phone and re-root it again but it is stuck being root at the moment.
So I found this guide --> [Guide] LG G4 Stock Firmware (Go Back to Stock) KDZ & TOT Method.
I couldn't get this flash kit to work on my G4. I have tried it on a Windows 10 laptop and windows 7 laptop to see if there was a difference and still no luck.
Does anyone have any other methods of resetting an LG G4?
Thanks everyone
Just download the kdz you need and flash it using this tool. Works 100%. Cheers

Does it matter that it is a verizon with vs98611a?
If you still have the backed up system.img (before rooted), you can flash it back like you did to root. Please read in the low effort root thread how to backup system.img (before root) and to restore it. I also ran into this problem, supersu couldnt be full unroot and I had to restore the backed up system.img (since I didnt have the kdz).

Thanks for the information. I am new to this and did not back up my system. Does anyone have a clean KDZ for verizon VS98611A? What's the best way to restore the backup?

my question is regarding updating rooted V20D EUR to V20G via TWRP (without losing root, data and twrp recovery)? Are there flashable zips, like for 20D?

I really try to avoid rerooting, backing up and restoring anything, I admit
i will try it. Wait my reply.
sure, no problem, patience is a virtue
That's interesting for me, too!
An error message says you are rooted so wont install. This then deletes the 500Mb update (and seems to be redownloading later for me; will have to disable ota somehow)
i know that OTA won't work, but I am asking for a flashable zip. There were flashable zips up to v20d:
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G4/H815/
Or does anybody know how to convert dlpkgfile to flashable zip? I heard it's an encrypted update.zip, but I have no idea how to decrypt or extract it. 7zip won't help.
it's called dirty flashing. There are rom with recent os like imperium or genisys.
Dirty flashing is not recommended, it will cause instability. You better wipe everything
Seems there is no way to update my unlocked LG G4 to V20G. So can anybody tell me how I can wipe everything and perform the update, please?
There is a Twrp flashable V20g zip,I've updated V20d like that
Here

yes, now there is, but it did not exist at the time I started this thread Anyways, I managed to update with LG Bridge without losing data and then in just a few easy steps regain root and TWRP, so it's OK, but flashable zip would have been a better option...
Hey. I am using G3 F400K on version F400K30k and I can't root my device with any methods on the site. Can I root my device if I flash lollipop stock rom. I just want to ask because I have so much data on my phone and I don't want to format for nothing.
