[Q] Music player .apk

I made the mistake of deleting the stock music player and now cant sent music via s beam. Anyone have a copy of the .apk or any type of music app that would support s beam.i do have cwm installed so I can also flash a zip. I could reflash the stock rom but I really dont want to have to do that for one .apk that someone can pull for me in a matter of minutes. Thanks in advance!!

Just download one of the custom roms unzip it and pull the apk from system/app folder. then put it in the same folder on your phone with root explorer

Can I use the same apk on anyother phone? I'd have this music player on SV ROM for Note with it's excellent shuffling and suggesting capabilities and I'd like it to work on my A110 from Micromax too. Can I install the apk from the rom for Note on my A110?

Try this one, pulled from a TW based AOSP port.
As stated, put in your system/app folder, install from there.

Try this one.... Its from SGS3 system/app folder. Just copy to system/app set fight permission and reboot. Should work

Try downloading zipsigner from the market & signing the apk, then install the new signed apk, & then press the thanks button on this comment

I'd like to say thanks, but still didn't work. I tried with the new signed .zip and it failed. I used root explorer to move do system apps, the apks inside the zip file too... but even changing permissisons to rw--r--r didn't work! T_T

I did it. I moved the Calendar.apk and CalendarProvider.apk out of system/app and it showed! but i can't sync any calendars becaus my accounts won't show!

I do have a samsung account configured on my device. But I don't see samsung push, maybe this is what is missing....

Thanks guys, I went ahead and wiped my system and data, and reinstalled the rom, then i got samsung apps from this website:

I flashed thru CWM and everything was there, and working 100%

Gmail V4.3 apk?

Hi there all,
Does anyone have the Gmail 4.3 apk?
Whenever I try to update my Gmail app I get a parsing package error?
It tells me to ininstall it and then reinstall the latest version, could I just overwrite the app with the .apk from my handset if I had it?

I did some Googling and it appears that the packages for preinstalled Google software has been signed wrong.

I can't find it neither. It is only in play store but my device is incompatible ... I need an apk.

I updated through play store without issues on ARHD 19.2. This is the only apk I have in system /app and I don't know the version number or even whether I've done the link right coz I'm on my phone and away from my computer but you're welcome to try

That's odd because when I open Gmail and look in settings its definitely 4.3 and that's the only apk in system /app that I have, I guess it must be somewhere else sorry about that.

And you managed to just use it to overwrite the old version by installing it from the root of your sdcard?

Delete old gmail with tb then try again or copy to /system/app and rename to gmail2.apk

Uh oh, uninstalled Gmail with TiBu, tried to reinstall it from Play Store got 'Incompatible Update' Error, I'll try again with the .apk...

erm, $hit, wouldn't install, so renamed the .apk to gmail2.apk, tried to move it to /system/app and it wont let me move it, bear in mind I am doing it from Astro File Manager...
$hit will I need to reflash my ROM?

Haha, I had, but stupidly I'd deleted it like a fool. Wanted a clean run for the install, I rebooted the phone, cleaned cache and tried again from the Play Store, it installed!!!
Looking at 'About Gmail' settings now and can see it's 4.3 and now I can get regular updates

It does work in Sense, but you need to disable the Power Saver notification with this wonderful mod.

What are the permissions to be set at? I pushed this and the stock file manager to system apps, fixed permissions via recovery, but neither work. When I use Root Explorer to check the apks they show different permissions from all the other system apps. MusicPlayer and SecNoteMyFiles show rwxrwxr-x while the other apks show rw-r-r-- I guess I need to manually change them?
EDIT - Actually what happens is they don't show in the app drawer, so I tried to install them from the system app folder, but I keep getting an error "Application not installed".

No go for me. They just don't want to work. I don't know why. I was on the stock ROM via ODIN. Everything worked. I pulled five apks from the system app folder. Three of them work, but the MusicPlayer and FileManager don't. I tried them both ways. I left the permissions as is, rebooted, and nothing. I did what you said, and still nothing. Got me. I'm running Jedi Mind Trick JB 3.

You sure you pushed it to system/app and set the permissions to rw-r-r? did you reboot?

First I want to thank you, and say sorry for making you help me so much, as I'm now realizing it would have worked if I just used your version from the beginning. I've been trying to get the one I pulled from my stock ROM when I was running it. It seems my APK is not the right one. Yours worked the very first time. It's also bigger than mine by about a MB. Where did you pull it from? I pulled mine directly from the system/app folder.
Also since mine didn't work for this, or my File Manager APK, would it be possible for you to share that too? Or tell me where to get it? Thanks again.

I pulled it from a downloaded stock deodexed 4.1.2 rom.
I use ES Explorer.

Ah, I think that was it. I pulled mine from my stock odexed ROM. I just pulled the File Manager from a stock deodexed ROM, and it works. Now I have all my apps again. Thanks again for the help. :good:

[Q] Looking for JB clock app to run on ICS

Hey guys,
I was hoping to be able to install the JB clock app/widget on an ICS ROM, but I haven’t been able to locate the right thing to download/install. Is what I want even possible, and if so, can anyone provide a link?

Try putting it into system/app and changing the permissions to rw-r-r using a file explorer with root access. Then reboot and see if it appears in your app drawer.
