Will it come to the M8?
We can already do the front and rear cameras at the same time now. I'd like the voice commands.

Thanks everyone. Since I'm waiting till my warranty runs out to s-off and root I guess I'll just have to wait for the next OTA to get it. No big deal just saw the presser's yesterday about the new HTC Eye phone and the "Eye Experience" software and thought I'd asked here about it.

The jellybean update for our HTC One X is supposedly to be rolled out in October says HTC when they announced the One X+. The new version is dubbed Sense 4.0+ not sense 4.5. Hmm I wonder the difference from our leaked sense 4 jellybean.

Press released by HTC
HTC INTRODUCES THE HTC ONE™ X+.
MORE SPEED, MORE STORAGE AND MORE BATTERY LIFE
MAKE HTC'S BEST RATED ANDROID PHONE, EVEN BETTER
HTC also announces SenseTM 4+ with Android Jelly Bean upgrades for
HTC One X and HTC One S coming soon
TAIPEI - 2ND OCTOBER, 2012 - HTC, a global leader in mobile innovation and design, today unveiled the HTC One™ X+, a refreshed version of its award winning HTC One™ X smartphone, running the HTC SenseTM 4+ experience on Android™ Jelly Bean. The HTC One™ X+ combines the iconic design, amazing camera and authentic audio experience of the HTC One series, with increased performance, longer battery life and expanded internal storage.
"We are taking the HTC One™ X to a new level with the introduction of the new HTC One™ X+," said Peter Chou, CEO of HTC Corporation. "Our customers will have super-fast browsing, an even better camera and more immersive entertainment with Beats Audio."
Performance, Endurance and Storage
Featuring a 1.7 GHz quad-core NVIDIA® Tegra® 3 AP37 processor and 64GB of internal storage, the HTC One™ X+ LTE version is up to 67% faster than the HTC One™ X1 LTE, making the HTC One™ X+ the best rated Android phone on the market. Developed to be lightning fast, the HTC One™ X+ enables quicker web browsing, fluid gaming and graphic rendering, and speedy downloads, providing effortless usage on the go.
In addition to its increased performance speeds, the HTC One™ X+ introduces extended performance with the inclusion of a 2100 mAh battery, giving you up to 50% (6 hours) more talk time, and longer to browse the web and enjoy your favorite music and videos2.
Imaging, Music and Movies
Combining the amazing camera capabilities of its predecessor3* with a series of intelligent features, powered by SenseTM 4+, the HTC One™ X+ has been designed to deliver the most premium mobile experience. The newly launched Self Portrait mode on the front camera helps you capture high quality photos by intuitively detecting the human face at various angles and applying subtle enhancements to skin and eyes. Sightseeing mode makes sure you'll always be ready to capture the moment - one touch of the power button bypasses the lock screen and launches directly into the camera. Two new views in Gallery display images and videos and group them according to where and when they were taken.
Exclusively available on HTC smartphones, Beats AudioTM provides authentic, studio-quality sound that delivers the most immersive sound experience with an enhanced audio profile, crisper vocals and detailed high notes for your music, games, movies and videos. Making it easier to listen to music out loud, and through SenseTM 4+, the HTC One™ X+ introduces a new Tap and Go function, which allows you to connect the phone and your music to Beats speakers'4 when you tap them. To disconnect, it is just another quick tap.
Providing exclusive access to thousands of movies through HTC Watch 2.0, the HTC One™ X+ will appeal to both the avid film fan and the casual movie-goer. Combined with the introduction of video hub, another benefit of SenseTM 4+, for the first time you will be able to put all your video entertainment in a single place.
Easy Set Up
A new feature in the HTC One™ X+ is HTC Get Started, a new web service that guides the user painlessly through the set-up and personalisation process from a desktop web browser. Designed to enhance the experience of setting up a phone for the first time, this feature ensures that users will get the most out of their new phone from the beginning. With the touch of a button, users' phone will reflect the settings and apps that were chosen on the Web. Visit start.htc.com for more details.
Availability
The HTC One™ X+ will be available in Europe and North Asia from October and in South Asia from November 2012. North America will make a separate announcement regarding availability of the HTC One™ X+. The Android Jelly Bean with HTC™ Sense 4+ update is scheduled to begin rolling out for the HTC One™ S and HTC One™ X from October.

Woah. Look at this HTC one x hands on video by engadget.
At 2:20, the HTC guy tries to show Google now... on his own HTC One X (no red accents, no AT&T logo).
So Sense 4+ is already circulating internally and looks ready to go!

Maybe HTC decide to change the name to suit the new One X+ so they put Sense 4+. Nothing new. It still Sense 4.5 to us.

with the HTC One getting AOSP, could this mean can get a port across with camera etc? Or are the devices too dissimilar?
Also would anyone want AOSP out of the box?
The sense camera won't be implemented in the google edition obviously.......
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
If HTC willing to open sources the camera driver for Google, it is possible for the One aosp camera to make use the benefit of the imagechip2. However, you still can't get the Zoe to work except Google implements it into One aosp camera with HTC permission.
I think the possibility of the above to happen will very low.... lol... yes, it is not that very make sense to get a senseless HTC One. Only S4 needs to sell Nexus ver this time, not HTC One.
But I guess the software focus on Qualcomm S4 600 should be improved, it might be okay for the HTC One aosp camera for normal use. I don't know, I don't have a HTC One.
yea certain rumours have confirmed that it WONT come with Zoe

It will still difficult to implement if HTC gives out permission because sense camera will need to access the framework from sense rom. There is no sense framework in aosp therefore Zoe won't work in the camera.apk even though HTC releases the imagechip2 driver for Google. Google will need to make his own aosp ver of Zoe start from scratch, so the possibility is almost zero at the moment.
However, I beat Samsung, Sony, LG will implement similar function in the next generation flagship. At that time, when this feature become one of smartphone standard, Google will make it in Nexus.
HTC One and HTC One V aren't anywhere close in hardware similarities (that I know of) so I doubt the camera in 4.2 could become of a working state with it.

I think he is just talking about he wants to get a HTC One Nexus.
Hi this phone will get android 6.0 too i asked htc one facebook and sayed "We don't have any news for Android updates to the One M8S at this time, but stay tuned to our social channels"
some1 know more about this phone
Lol you asked HTC already ! Who else should answer this ?! Your question is answered already before you opened this thread. You seem to open threads for obsolete questions or questions that are answered easily via google. Please search a bit better the next time before opening another one.......
Ah yeah and thanks for the answer to your previous question about the gorilla glass ?
Really !
It is suppose to get a 6.0 update, but who knows when. I've seen PunkUnity mentioning that he was doing something with the new 6.0 code, but maybe its for a nexus device. I believe I might of seen LLab mention something about the new update. I don't see anything special about 6.0 other than maybe 2 things, and most of the new UI features seem to be pulled straight from the custom ROM community, which doesn't surprise me.
Sent from my m8 using Tapatalk
It would be absolutely stupid if the M8 doesn't receive the 6.0 update, to be quite honest. For one thing, there's only one newer model (M9) and the hardware specifications on the M8 are quite good and up-to-date.
i sayed for M8S not M8 is not same phone xd
Oh my bad! I didn't even know there was a M8s out there, unless it's the one with a better camera (M8 eye?). Either way they seem to share the same specifications so I'd say it will receive it as well.
it have 13mp but snapdragon 615 octa core

M8s upgrade to Android 6.0 is here!
Great to read. The one of my girl friend came two weeks ago. All is running perfectly smooth and she loves adoptable storage.

Good evening everyone. I received a htc m8 from a friend. It is not new. But when I want to take a picture, I can only do it in Selfie mode, i.e. the rear camera does not work. Also when I entered the settings, to my great surpise is the version android Double Sim of the Htc M8 that was installed on the device. Version of android 6.0 software number 6.16.401.101. So there are two problems. One, I want to repair the camera back by reinstalling an official version. Of two, how could they install the sim dual version of the Htc M8 (DUG) on a Htc One M8 single? Thank you for your help.

Unfortunately no...
did you tried this out?
https://www.mobileheadlines.net/how-to-update-htc-u11-eyes-to-android-8-0-oreo/
btw, how as owner do you feel this phone supported from HTC side, in terms of update?
I broke guerilla glass on my HTC One S and think to make an upgrade, but last time HTC stopped to make updates for HTC One S almost right from beginning (1 year or so as max)
having the fact the CPU is 2 years old already in harmony, I'm a bit not sure, how long it will last on the market..

This link is showing all links with N71 which is Nougat not Oreo. HTC did not release official Oreo update.
The HTC U11 Eyes is very good as hardware, performance, camera but don't expect any support from HTC as they don't consider U11 Eyes as flagship phone. The phone is able to play asphalt 8 and heavy games easily.
