Are you seeing the finish chipping a lot? I really like the sleek look of the black over the stone but fear it'll chip from what some reviewers are saying.
I've already ordered the Black through Moto this morning and should be here by next week, however just about every BestBuy around me had the Silver in stock. Not only am I torn now, but I'm also pressed for time (trying to cancel my Moto order if necessary).
Anyways any and all help is appreciated. Thanks in advance

I've had mine for a few weeks, and used it daily including during exercises (thus exposing it to sweat). So far, I haven't seen any issues with the black finish.

This is not a joke, my dog literally ate the instruction manual that came with my EVO. I am planning on returning it and buying the white version that will be coming to Bestbuy. I am hoping that someone who is planning on keeping their EVO can give me their instruction manual...please.
You can probably still return it without the manual. I'm betting there are more lying around where you bought it. Heck they have them from the demo models at Sprint stores.
$5 says that white EVO will be brown in 6 months.

It will definitely pick up some dirt, but wiping it down with a damp rag once in awhile will take care of it no problem (I'm not a fan of the white personally)
my black evo has some smudges on the back that would be very very noticable if it was white
Either way, it won't be half as hard as keeping an iphone smudge/dirt free.
If you're going to end up getting a case I don't see the point. The only good thing would be that if HTC fixes that screen issue you'll get one of the fixed models. I haven't had issues with mines and I use it a lot. Good luck though I don't think they'll care and besides you can say you didn't get a manual or better yet you can say that the representative never gave you the manual when he bagged your items. You won't make it to heaven but at least you'll get the white EVO.
honestly, i really like white too, but they're right, it WILL get dirty. keeping clean sounds like a good idea for a week but we all get a lil lazy lol. i bought a $20 hard shield that fits around the back, its felt lined, plastic molding with white leather laid nicely over the back. bought it at the sprint store i work at.

Why not just download it?

Just give them the manual from the new EVO box when you get it.
The white will not be hard to maintain if you put a shield on the back. Like Zagg or something of that nature.
If you are like me, you already think that the Evo is a big enough phone..so why would you add a case? Well, after dropping my phone and its corner being dented i started looking at something to help me out. I wanted something cheap, but i wanted something that was good quality. So i started to browse ebay, and i found this. I got it today after ordering it on Thursday (fast shipping, from California!), and i love it so far. It comes in two pieces, one for the back and one for the front (you need both in order to use the case). It feels good, its slim, and i love that i can put it in my pocket without it pulling them out! The one i ordered is a metallic red with sparkles in it, and i love it.
Some temporary pictures here
I need to get better ones as this doesn't actually show the good color quality on it. If you have any questions just let me know.
If you hang around on the 360 forums on Reddit, you may have seen my post about my 360. Originally, I had the black 360 with black band, then one day I tripped and took a chunk out of the metal, looked awful. Bought a touch up pen, looked awful. So I made do. Until last week. I was thinking about sanding and polishing my 360 and asked some Redditors and they said it'd be difficult, but me and my friend did some heavy masking and it came out looking sexy. http://imgur.com/a/qrKAk there's an album of the photos, I'm gonna polish it some more, maybe make it almost chrome.
How did you do that? I recently picked up a black one cause they were on sale for $149. Didn't have the silver in stock so I got the black. Wanted the silver. ..if that's not to hard I might try it
I recently bought a silver one for the day's neither my black, nor gold urbane go with my work clothes. Black always goes with my insomnia programming clothes.

Wow, it really looks amazing! I'm tempted to try this myself but sadly I don't have the tools and skills. It'd be awesome to see a little step-by-step how-to.

Basically we removed the straps, masked the rear, screen and button and starting using some Wet & Dry 800 sandpaper, came off really easily, like it was a coating. Then used a bit of autosol polish yesterday (the pictures were taken last week) and it looks beautiful, I just say be careful.

Looks great, I like the way the black is still in the recesses, looks better imo than the silver version.
Hi Guys,
Just got my Huawei watch and since I´ve powered it on for the first time I am noticing a weird pattern of stripes on gray screens, on the settings menu for instance (a XDA member told me that's called banding). It´s hard to capture this on camera, but I am posting some pictures so you can see what I am talking about. Have anyone noticed something like that? Is this a problem or it´s nothing and I am overreacting? I couldn´t find any reports on this and this is not (as far as I know) related to the red tint issue.
On an unrelated matter, I also find the crown to be a little wobbly, and not very satisfying to press (it doesn’t make a good clicking sound). Is it supposed to be like this?
I appreciate your help.
Banding. Mine has none at all...I was actually looking for it when I first got the watch.
My button has a little play, but it clicks just fine.

I don't have that on mine but if it's bad I would exchange it. My button is rock solid and the screen is flawless so I'm glad I received a good one. I don't recommend things unless I know they are good and I like my watch from experience. Its been 3 weeks now and I love it the same as the first time I opened it.
Thank you for the reply!
I didn't know the technical term, thanks. I am going to edit the thread to use the right terminology.
Why did you look for banding? Why were you expecting this problem?
Should I return my watch? It's not so easy for me because I don't live in the US, so I would have to pay international shipping and I would not be able to buy a new one.

Just one of the things I check when getting a new device.

Is it a big deal? Can it get worse over time? Cause if it stays the way it is I can deal with it, specially because how hard it is for me to return it.
The first one I picked up had noticeable banding (a little less than yours), so I decided to pick up another one. The second one was worse. I fear it may just be the nature of the technology and I don't have the time and energy to keep gambling for a better unit.
At this point I'm undecided if I'm going to keep the watch. It's a shame as it is a really nice looking device.
Btw - both watches had wobbly buttons, but that isn't really too bothersome.
Thank you very much for your reply! You are the first other person to report this issue. I was starting to think that I had terrible luck with that unit.
Well, mine went back to Amazon. And since I don't live in the US, it's hard for me to try again (have to wait for a friend to go there). And even if I had a second chance, I am not willing to take the risk of getting another bad watch. At this point I am very much considering the new Moto 360. It's got its flaws, but at least it doesn't have such wide spread issues.
Would you consider returning yours and trying the 360? If not, why's that? I would like to learn your opinion.
Thank you again!
Not a problem! I also considered the 2015 Moto 360 (42mm), but decided on the Huawei Watch. The Moto 360 is a very stylish watch and Moto Maker is downright awesome. However, the 2 reasons I chose the Huawei Watch are the reportedly bad dim mode and the "flat tire". I enjoy using WatchMaker to create watch faces and I'd rather not have to design around the flat tire. A friend of mine has the previous Moto 360 and doesn't mind it, though. I think it's more of a subjective issue.
I'm doing my best to get used to the banding and I think that it is only noticeable in straight gray environments (though that includes settings). I have a feeling that I'll notice it less and less over time, but your watch had worse issues than mine and I'm sorry about that.
Yeah, mine was very noticeable.
Do you think I should try a new one? How confident are you that the HW is going to hold up over time?
Do you think that the Moto 360 has a better chance of lasting longer? (no burn in, can charge the battery easily without having to buy a proprietary charger to carry around)?
I would appreciate your opinion.
I know this is a pretty old thread but I didn't want to start a new one for a similar issue. I got my watch today and I notice banding on my display as well. It's mostly visible with solid colors. I'm debating exchanging it with Huawei (I bought it direct through them). I'm trying to determine if this is normal or a defect

I can say for my watch, I have no banding like what you show in the pictures.

I am sorry to hear about your problem.
My watch had different banding. It was more noticeable in gray screens. It didn't have any banding in solid colors. I ended up returning mine. If it's easy for you I would exchange it. Good luck
I've got a OPO 7pro, is this phone worth it as an upgrade? give me your honest opinion please
I have been using it 3 days. So far it's great but I am worried about what will happen between now and the time I get the case I ordered. I will report the condition of the device after a little longer on a post here. The little screen is a productivity powerhouse, every app so far has worked with the exception of Chrome and Google Search oddly. I'm not sure why they don't want us doing those apps on it.
I'm personally happy with it. This is the first Android phone I've ever owned that I haven't felt the need to root. The small screen in particular is useful when I'm at work
I hope Motorola keeps a regular nearly-Pixel update schedule with this thing

Man I hope it gets at least one major OS update but they seem dedicated to foldables so... who knows...
Another week on with this thing and I am still very impressed. The screen hasn't changed in terms of the bumps and still looks great. I keep this in a jeans pocket and so far the hinge hasn't attracted lint. The small screen has been amazing and discreet.
I have taken up playing Pokemon Crystal on the small outer screen. You can offset the controls to one side and play one handed. I feel like a kid again playing on such a small compact device. I have also found that Among Us works on the screen with no issues but might be too hard to see for some.
So far so good!
Oh, and I ordered a case for it but isn't coming for another couple weeks.. I can't find any decently prices case for this in the US.
