ok, downloaded that file but 7-zip and winrar both say there are errors.
is there an md5 or sha file?
the exact size in windows i have for the file is 1,506,353,851 bytes (in file properties)

Are there any tricks or methods to flash my phone with your ROM (RUU_PRIMO_U_ICS_40A_HTCCN_CHS_1.68.1400.2_Radio_20 .67.30.0831U_3831.15.00.28_M_release_254948_signed) ?
All my previous attempts failed. The installator always suddenly stopped working and freezed.

can I get a rom dump from this RUU? I don't have the phone but I'd like to extract some files from it and possibly port it for my device later on. If its not dumpable, can I get some form of a stock rom?

dunno what you're gonna do
but u simply can't flash a GSM rom onto the CDMA variant

Well it will boot, if you flash a primoc kernel, but it won't have radio or anything.

i got HTC desire 816w from china but i am originally from Egypt
anyway this was my first time to root my device and install custom rom but unfortunately i deleted my backup stock rom by mistake
and now wanna back to stock but dont know how so pls
if anybody can explain how to S OFF and install stock rom ( i searched much for S OFF for this device but didn't find and also can't get the stock rom from HTCUI.com donno why cant download from baidu ) and finally big thanks to kinghunki all info i know about this device by his Threads

Try this European version single sim version RUU from this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=52995489. I did the similar mistake and unable to find the RUU for the dual sim english version. If you or anyone happen to find one, please please share that rom or RUU.

Oh you're fresh out of luck, the ROMs only go to 6833
You can flash any ROMs in this section(GSM), Telus is GSM phone isn't it?

Yes it is. I'm on Telus as well. Flash away! I would like to recommend ViperOne. It's a great ROM!

I just got this phone (to activate a nano SIM for use with a UDP plan), and I'd be happy to grab this image for you. My phone already updated to Lollipop - is that stock image okay, or do you want the KitKat ROM?

Yeah definitely! I was still in the parking lot at best buy opening the phone up, and it already wanted to update. I'm pretty sure the update download was on the phone already somehow too. Updated to 5.1 in about 15 minutes.
Edit: well, mine is the Verizon prepaid desire 526. Not sure if that's any different than 526G...

just upload your boot files if you can (all backup files except system -data-and cache )
it's very small (10 mb )
but first make sure your chip is mt6582
