Hello,
I have a samsung galaxy pro tab 8.4 i have managed to get twrp recovery on it and flashed it with cm11 custom rom. How would i go back to the stock rom that it came with?
Also with the custom rom the multie button that shuts down apps,( bottom left) doest work as another option in some apps if you keep you finger on it. Is there away round this to work on custom rom?
Download odin and kies. (if you haven't already) install kies to get the drivers and then odin
Download the firmware from here http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=25801
Unzip the update file on the same folder as Odin.
Reboot in download mode: press volume down, home and power buttons at the same time. Then connect the device
On Odin now the ID:COM section should be either yellow or blue. Also, the “added” message must be displayed.
If not, you need to close Odin, unplug the USB cord, reinstall the drivers on the computer and start the update process from the beginning.
After resolving the issues, from Odin you need to select “PDA”.
Then pick the update file from desktop. and click start
You can unplug the USB cable and reboot your tablet when on Odin the “pass” message will be displayed and when the ID:COM section will be green.
If odin gets stuck reinstall drivers and try again. Also, if you bootloop wipe data and cache in recovery.

Or you can try also change your Odin on another version.

So, basically, I've done a stupid thing, I attempted to install Cyanogen, forgetting to enable USB debugging, and it didn't go too well, all I can do now is use Clockwork Recovery as there is no ROM on the phone, I'm not sure if there's anyway I can enable USB debugging and flash it via USB, with Odin, but whenever I try to flash via .zip through Clockworkmod Recovery I either get the status 7 error, or if I take steps to get rid of that the installation just aborts, any ideas on what I can do?
There is also a possiblity I installed Clockwork Recovery for the 3G edition, whereas I have the LTE edition of the phone, I'm not sure if that'll have contributed to the downfall of my smartphone adventures
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

hi,
first of all, dont worry for that. its not really a brick.
reboot your device to download mode (press vol-down, home and power buttons)
install philz_touch_5.18.2-i9195.tar.md5 - 7.08 MB via odin and restart to your phone to philz recovery. (press vol-up, home and power button, if you see samsung logo release power button)
then install cm rom and reboot. if you dont have any rom file in your storage, then copy rom zip file to your external sdcard via your pc and put external card again to your phone and reboot recovery and try install your rom from external card. this recovery is for lte variant of s4 mini.
i hope you get your phone working again and tell me if it works
I can't use Odin to detect my phone, it just doesn't show up :c
There is another solution.
first - get philz recovery zip file for lte variant and extract it. (get it here http://d-h.st/qdn) open updater-script and remove this code and save file.(that installer will not stop because your device is show him you have 3g variant but you have lte one so simply remove this code and save file to your zip)
assert(getprop("ro.product.device") == "serranolte"
|| getprop("ro.build.product") == "serranolte");
make zip file and copy it to your sdk folder and install it via adb sideload. (google it when you dont know how to install with sideload)
after this you should have right recovery.
then install your rom with sideload and reboot.
Yeah, that did fix it, I now however have the issue of my Wifi won't turn on and I cannot install things as it states that there isn't enough storage space available, which there is, there is also 4.62 Gb used in my Misc files and nothing is listed as even close to that size, so my phone isn't particularly better off ¬.¬ But thanks for your help
Got all of the problems sorted now, for the storage space thing, I had to remove my external SD card and just go on a formatting blitz after reinstalling Clockworkmod and the wifi required a modded kernel to be installed
Hi can someone help me, I have the same issue as Tobiscuits. The link no longer worked but I managed to get the file needed for recovery Odin doesn't see my phone so I can't recover to stock that way I'm guessing USB debugging is off I'm stuck on the Odin mode screen everytime my phone starts. I'm new to this what do I do with the recovery zip I have, it's on my pc atm

Have you installed latest Samsung drivers? Or try reinstall/update them, from Samsung website?
(in the past some people had to uninstall the Samsung sync software & it's drivers first if it had already been installed on PC, ie smartswitch/kies)
You must reboot PC between each operation above & check Samsung drivers uninstalled in program list (assuming Windows). Reboot after install as well.
Update to TWRP after fixed.

Hi thanks for replying, yes I installed Samsung usb drivers still doesn't recognise my device, I do have the same phone again and that works but that phone doesn't recognise on Odin or pc either maybe it's a cable issue or USB driver issue like you said. I'm pretty new to all this but TWRP is the recovery zip right? When I try factory reset it goes through the motions then nothing happens goes back to Odin mode automatically.i should mention I uninstalled magisk before my phone decided to not boot back up I'm guessing I uninstalled it wrong. I'll try uninstalling the Samsung drivers and reinstalling.

That's fairly simple. There are a variety of options for you to manually update to 4.3. First you can try downloading Samsung Kies 3 to your PC. Kies 3 is an enhanced version of Kies and is for system on Android 4.3 and up. If this doesn't work, then you may take the following steps:
1. Download the 4.3 stock ROM from the link below. If you would prefer to install the rooted and knox-free modified version of the ROM, you will find the link on the right side of the page. Otherwise, the official stock image is the file named AT&T_I747UCUEMJB.zip
http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=438
2. Download the 4.3 stock kernel and modem zip files as well.
3. Copy the downloaded files from your computer to the internal SD card of your phone or to an external Micro SDHC card and place in your phone.
Power off your phone and boot into recovery mode by holding down the Power, Menu and Volume Up buttons simultaneously. When you see something flash across your screen, release the power button but continue to hold down the Menu and Volume Up buttons until recovery mode comes up (you may check You tube for videos of how to boot into recovery).
3. Install (flash) the downloaded files from wherever you stored them and wait for flashing to complete.
4. Wipe and reset your phone and you should be OK.

No, there is nothing wrong with your phone. It would appear you are on stock recovery. It should be possible to flash a stock zip from stock recovery but sometimes it doesn't work and you may need custom recovery which has more enhanced features and functionality. Let's try doing it via custom recovery as follows ..
Download the Odin 3 v1.85 which is attached as a zip file.
Download the flashable TWRP file via the following link and save to a recognizable location on your computer ...
http://techerrata.com/file/twrp2/d2att/openrecovery-twrp-2.6.3.0-d2att.tar
Extract the Odin zip and run the executable file (*.exe). Make sure Odin opens.
Power off your phone and boot into download mode. Same process as you did with recovery mode except that this time, you'll be pressing Power, Volume Down and Home buttons. When you get to the warning message, press volume up to continue.
Connect your phone to the computer with a good quality USB cable. Since you have Kies, you probably have the required drivers for the phone to run on your PC. Make sure Kies is not open or running, however, not even in the background as Kies will conflict with Odin if both of them are open.
Go to the Odin window. Make sure it has recognized your phone. You will see 'Added" in the left pane as confirmation.
Click on the PDA button in Odin and navigate to the TWRP file you downloaded earlier. Select this file. Make sure it has registered in the PDA tab and then click Start. This will begin flashing TWRP custom recovery to your phone
Leave the Odin settings unaltered. The Auto-Reboot box, for instance, should be checked. Do not check or uncheck any boxes
Wait for the flashing to be complete and until you get the PASS message. Your phone will power off then and begin rebooting. The process is complete and you can now disconnect the phone from the computer
Power off the phone and reboot into recovery mode. You should now see TWRP recovery. Click on install and retry the process you tried earlier with the zip card. Hopefully, it will work this time. If not, we would try the ultimate solution which would be to download the complete 4.3 stock recovery image and flash via the same custom recovery.
When the installation is complete, please wipe your dalvik cache and do a hard wipe/reset then reboot into system
Ok so I did everything what you wrote. My phone reboot and now I have android 4.3 thanks!! But i couldn't turn on the wifi so i cleaned the cache againg and reboot the system and it's stuck on at&t sign and i can't do nothing. Did I broke my phone? HEEELP!

Don't worry. It's a minor problem. Try booting into recovery mode again and do a hard wipe/reset from there. Once it reboots, you will need to establish your Wi-Fi during the initial set-up
If you experience any further issues however, now that you have custom recovery, you may want to try the ultimate solution which is to flash the complete stock recovery image for 4.3. This will return your phone to full stock 4.3, reset your flash counter and also return your phone to stock recovery. In short, your phone will behave like a new 4.3 from the factory. Please see the file posted in the link below which you may download and flash via TWRP. So far, there have been no reports of failure with flashing this zip but please proceed at your own risk.

No I mean that when I press the "off" button on wi-fi it should automaticaly switch to "on" but it keep coming to "off" . I was reading somewhere that somebody had the same problem but I don't remember where. Oh and samsung kies saved my and helped me to came back to android 4.1.1 and I did the same thing and for now it's working on 4.3 but I still have problem with wi-fi. Ok I found the problem . I have wrong modem thats why I can't turn on wifi , but I can't find the right one.
Edit; I found out that when I install some thing it says
checking MD5 file
Skipping MD5 check: no Md5 file found.
Do you think that's the reason of the wifi problem

That's unlikely to be the cause of the Wi-Fi problem. Custom recovery makes that check when you are trying to flash a zip. Can you check what modem you have? You will see this written as baseband version under Settings => About Device
Hello,
I hope someone can help me. I'm not completely ignorant when it comes to rooting and flashing custom roms, but it's been a while since the last time I did (last time was my Samsung Galaxy S2). Today I decided I was going to root my N5110 Note 8 and install a 4.4.2 rom on it.
I decided I was going to install the Omni Rom linked here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2569099
I apologize in advance for the long descriptions below.
Here are the steps and issues in the order that it happened:
1) Flashed CF-Auto-Root-konawifi-konawifixx-gtn5110 using Odin (Auto Reboot, F. Reset Time)
2) Downloaded Rom Manager App, and booted into Recovery from there.
3) Using CWM Recovery, I followed instructions as described on the Omni link and did a Wipe/Factory Reset
4) Using CWM Recovery, I selected to install zip from SDCard, and selected the omni-4.4.2-20140102-n5110-HOMEMADE.zip
5) After a few seconds, I got an error 7, and the installation aborted.
6) Tried to reboot back to the system, but of course now that everything is wiped, it just loops back to recovery.
7) I tried installing the zip again, same error. I checked the thread and someone mentioned the same error. OP mentioned using TWRP, so I went back into Download mode and flashed TWRP via Odin
8) After reboot, it went into TWRP. Tried installing zip again, same error. I decided I'll pick up another rom to try first. So, I took out my microSD card so that I can load the ROM over to it.
9) Booted back into TWRP - it no longer sees my SD card. Tried to power down from recovery menus in hopes to get it to see the sd card. No luck
10) I'm desperate now--I am trying to force it off by holding down the power button. It reboots back into recovery. I even try to get it back to download mode so I can flash CWM back on, in hopes that it will let me retry. But now it just shows the battery screen (like when you're charging it while powered off) at empty. I unplug the USB cable, the screen turns off.
11) I try to power it back on without the USB cable plugged in, nothing happens.
12) I plug the USB power back in, and it looks like it's booting up. It goes to the Samsung Note 8.0 N5110 screen and just flickers. The flickering increases in speed over time.
13) I force it back into Download mode, and try to run the CF Auto-Root again (like I said I'm desperate now).
14) After Odin reboots the device, it goes into the battery screen and is doing the weird flickering thing again.
I'm currently attempting to download XXCMH3_stock-rooted-official.zip in hopes to flash via Odin, but the d/l keeps timing out before the whole thing can be transferred.
Someone, please help! What am I doing wrong?

Hi, just so you know... you do not need to root a stock ROM to flash a custom ROM... I am surprised that you think that is necessary
Did you ever set USB debugging to enabled?
Also what Odin do you have?
Turn off note, remove SD, and see if you can start in Stock download mode.
Flash with Odin 3.07... repeat flash with Odin 3.07 and use N5110UEFMI1_N5110XARFMI1_HOME.tar.md5 from http://samsungis.com/
Here is a copy of a reply on a thread it may help if you cannot perform the simple task of reflashing stock ROM from my small list of steps.

Have you tried to flash with Re-Partition checked in Odin 3.07? It looks like your partions are messed up, if it was me I would just give it a try "flashing with re-partition checked" seeing as though its not working anyway.
If that don't work see if you can get a PIT file somewhere, I did read someone put up a link for a PIT file here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2544451 although I am NOT 100% sure if this is for the GT-N5110 but read thru it and if you feel adventurous give that PIT file a try.
And here is a link http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda/Galaxy+Note+8/XXCMG2/ that someone put up with a leaked firmware and the PIT file and CODE file for the N5110 you can give that a try also.
- Unzip the file
- Open Odin 3.07 (already included in the firmware package)
- Restart phone in download mode
(Press and hold Home + Power + Volume down buttons)
- Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign in Odin
- Add CODE_N5110XXCMG2_1031850_REV01_user_low_ship.tar to CODE
- Add CSC_OXA_N5110OXACMG2_1031850_REV01_user_mid_noship .tar to CSC
- Add kona_wifi.pit to PIT
- Make sure re-partition is ticked
- Start flash, sit back and wait a few minutes.
- If you encounter any issues with the firmware (Any FC, Bootloop etc)
- Boot into recovery mode (Home+ Power + Volume Up)
- Choose to wipe/factory reset.
(THIS WILL ERASE ALL OF YOUR DATA INCLUDING YOUR INTERNAL SD CARD!)
- Then choose reboot and you should be good to go!

In TWRP v2.6.3.0 look under mount and see if Micro Sdcard has an "x" if there is no "x" check this and go back to the screen where is says reboot ... reboot recovery from there, once rebooted in recovery go to install and in the top (if you are on v2.6.3.0) you should see storage, tap that and you should have a choice from internal storage and Micro SDcard, if you see Micro SDcard there you should select that and hit ok.
Hoping this helps.

My apologies. I didn't see any of the replies since my email subscription went to my spam folder.
Thank you for those of you who took the time to try and help me.
I know I didn't have to flash stock, but it was more of me being desperate and just trying to put ANY rom on to get it to turn on.
By some weird luck, I had got my tablet working the next day. Basically, in defeat, I just let it sit on the charger overnight thinking a full tank of gas would help it. The next morning, I seriously just pressed all the button combinations and managed to get it to go into recovery and see my SD. I tried yet again to install the Omni Rom again but no dice. It gave me an error again.
So I tried to install a rom again, this time the PAC-rom.
It worked!
Tablet is functional again!
So thank all of you and the electronics god for the miracle!
Have a great weekend you fine folks!

I will be as specific and give as much detail as i can here...
You need to start over with a clean slate. Use standard class 10 micro-sd card and don't mess with multi format whatever. Use TWRP 2.8.7 or 3.0.0. Start by rebooting into recovery and wiping everything clean several times. backup any files that you need to keep. But you must wipe internal sd, system, cache, data and dalvic-cache. wipe thenm in advanced wipe options of twrp. Next reboot to download mode. Launch odin 3.10.6 or newer on your pc. connect your phone to your pc via the usb cable. In the options tab of odin make sure auto-reboot and reset time is CHECKED!!! Open the official stock OK1 rom tar using the AP button in odin. Once the md5 check completes just press start to flash the stock rom. when it finishe LET THE PHONE REBOOT!!! Once the phone boots, setup as usual then go into Settings and open "Activate this device". Let it do it's thing and it will automatically reboot. Once the phone reboots, go to settings/System update and do the prl AND profile updates. Reboot your phone again. Then make sure your data and calls work as they should.
Once you are on stock and have done all of these steps above you are ready to odin TWRP. Download the tar version of TWRP to use in odin. It is the best way to flash recoveries. Launch odin on your pc and use the AP button to add the TWRP tar. In the options tab you can uncheck auto reboot if you want. (I've never had to do that but you can). Once it flashes you can let the phone reboot or you can just pull the battery then force reboot into recovery by holding the volume-up, home and power buttons until you feel the phone vibrate. Release all buttons and wait for TWRP to boot. Once in TWRP, do all of the wipes same as before multiple times. Then for good measure go to TWRP homescreen and press "Reboot" then "Recovery" and this will reboot recovery and ensure that the rom zip will flash with no trouble. Reboot recovery then flash the UN5 rom and remember to wait for data to conect before proceeding with setup wizard. Success. If this doesn't work then give up and leave your phone stock until you figure out what's causing your problems. Good luck.
