I have Samsung Galaxy Grand I-9082. Its rooted and my present rom is Touchviz Revolution v7. Roehsoft RAM expander is in the same way telling that this kernel doesn't support swapping. Which rom supports swapping. I'm not a developer or something and not much technically educated to directly play with kernel stuff. So suggest me a ROM which i can flash to get the needed kernel thing to expand ram. I bought a class10 16gb card just for this purpose but can't do it because of the custom rom i'm using now. Single sim rom is also fine.

about pen drive the answer is no... but m not sure about ubuntu...
Ubuntu will not be available for Galaxy Y as Ubuntu needs dual core specs to run on any device and our phone doesn't meet the requirements
Using external USB devices is not yet possible
there are some ROMS check out which one you would like on your device
here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1472
Use a2sd to use mem card as internal memory
Check out d general and development section for instructions.

That error shows that your kernel doesnt support swap. Could you provide more information as which rom and kernel you are using?
And i also dont recommend you to create swap file using this apps because someone had bricked their wonder using similar apps. Here is the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2095573
Here is another method to create swap file http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145133 AFAIK this is the best and safest for creating swap file

OK brother. Firstly, I recommended khan kernel to you because of its extra 20 mb ram feature. I thought it may help you, and also it is good and smooth kernel. It has extra processors and i/o schedulers, and some specifications. :good:
Furthermore, you can use turbo boost http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2145133 to increase ram. I recommend three swap way (cache/system/data)
Moreover, 64 mb swap file you mentioned is zram of the kernel, I think. In addition, you can disable it(64 mb) by using Performance Control app, here is the thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2401988
If I'm wrong, someone please let us know the correct information.
thank you!

That is normal bro The 64mb swap file is zram. It is ON by default in cm11. I think there is an option for it under performance in settings. But i suggest you to left it untouched as zram is compressed ram and wipp help in ram management
uhh thx guys, i were see my ram were boost when using turbo boost thx:good:
Hello there,
I installed ram expander to my nokia x hoping to increase my ram using my sd card class 10..
But after the installation, i opened it and it says " ram expander has stopped working" i also installed other version of this app, still the results are the same. Is there any other way to use the ram expander WITHOUT installing/changing rom, kernel, blabla? 'cause i really love the uniqueness of the u.i of the nokia x compared to common android ui. :'(
PLEASE .. I REALLY NEED YOUR HELP xda-sama!! :'(

No, RAM Expander won't work.
It is worth mentioning though that changing kernel has nothing to do with the UI. But it has everything to do with performance.
So if you love your stock UI and want to boost it, use NULL Kernel by @mdfzhi . I myself used it before trying custom ROMs.
i have recently installed cyanogenmod 5.1.1 lollipop in my phone.but now it getting struck many times. even the free ram is around 50-70mb eventhough there are not many apps installed. Is there any basic version Custom ROM that works fast ,speed without delay from getting struck???????????????
There are many. I'm using blisspop for my I9300. You can also try ram expander from play store to increase virtual RAM.
Sent from my GT-I9300. Hit Thanks if I could help.

Troubleshooting
1. App not getting lauched at boot by macro
Solution :- manually click app on evey boot
Or I can provide solution by Tasker but then ppl don't like tasker
Or use "Magisk RAM Swapper" Magisk module.
And use RAM Truth from the play store to see if you are already having a swap partition. And maybe wonder if compressed ram is something you really want anyway

Yaa use it......but don't complaint when starts lagging......there is something called as tuning....swap partion on android by default.......if u find one do let me know...n yes compressed ram a is good if it is upto 2 gb not 4GB OUT OF 6GB TOTAL RAM
U talking abt 4gb swap that is showing on your referred app............man u r a noob.....it's not a swap partition its ZRAM .....4GB OF ZRAM ON 6GB TOTAL RAM ...MAN U PROVED MY POINT.... THERE IS NO SWAP PERSE AVAIL...ONLY ZRAM.....
