I just messed up with my system/apps folder & now I can't do several things. For most aaps, I get the message that "XXX stopped working". Even my SIMs are not loaded. When I go to Dual Sim settings, this error is shown:
"Can't do this com.android.phone at the moment".
Please can anyone upload the system/apps folder? I'll be grateful.

Drop the .apk you want to restore into the "tools" folder in the Android SDK then open a command window there and use adb
adb remount
adb push name.apk /system/app
Where name is replaced by the name of the .apk you are moving there, it has to match exactly caps and all.
And you can get the apk by downloading your rom from the dev section and unzipping the file. Look under /system/app.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I wouldn't worry about using ADB or command lines. I have found with APK's, it's easiest just to use something like ES file Explorer, or Astro File manager (both free in the market).
Just find the file on your SD card, and click on it, it will allow you to install it from there. I attached the APK to make it easy. If you are browsing from your phone, just download and install this. You don't even need a file manager.
I'm on Fresh Evo and the video camera force closes....
So, i tried uninstalling the htccamera and installing the camera.apk from CMs rom, since that camera is much better than htccamera.
Anyway, I've tried putting the apk on the sdcard and when I click on it to install, it says "application not installed."
If I try moving the apk to the system/app folder I get an error "java.io.filenotfound/system/app/Camera.apk(permission denied)
I've tried pushing and pulling from adb, also with errors.
I'm fully rooted, is there something I'm missing? a Checkbox somewhere? I've allowed installing applications from unknown sources, so that's not it.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
I don't know if it will work for the camera, but when installing a system app, I use root explorer (which isn't free from the market) to mount r/w permissions in the system/app folder so that I can copy and paste the app inside that folder. Then I long press the app and click on permissions, then only check the boxes for Owner/Read, Owner/Write, Group/Read, and Other/Read. The app then installs itself when I reboot the phone.

Downloaded Root Explorer, finally was able to copy the camera.apk into the system/app folder. Success there, but...
Changed all the permissions like you said, then clicked on the apk to install it. A window opened up with an install button, clicked it, and then it came up with the message "application not installed." I rebooted and it looked like the camera installed, it showed up in the app list, but when I click it, it force closes, comes up with an error "we're sorry, camera has closed unexpectedly, com.android.camera, please try again.
Any ideas on how to get passed the force close. It's doing exactly what the htccamera would do when I tried to use the video camera.
Thanks in advance.
Hi all.
I did a mistake and uninstalled InfiniteView without backup. Now i want to restore it but each time i try to install the .apk it says «Application not installed». Can anyone guide me how to properly restore it, please?

Thanks!
Hi guys,
I have a bit of a strange problem. It seems that I lost almost all the apps on my phone. I had a crash during skiing whit my phone in my pocket and after the next restart almost all my downloaded apps are gone. When I go to "Manage applications" I can see their URI's (com.blablabla.blablabla) but when I click them it says that they no longer exist. I can install new apps that i have on the SD card so it seems that if I reinstall them I should be fine. The problem is I don have the market app, and when I try to install it from a downloaded .apk it says "Application not installed" and no additional info.
So my question is where do I go from here? Do I have to somehow clean every trace of the market and then reinstall it?
I'm running CM7.1
Any help would be awesome
You should be able to copy the market apk to your system app folder, and then set permissions to match the other apps in there, I think it's

Or something like that.

My bad Thx
side load the market app , look for the apk of the web (maybe xda) market is called vending apk , copy to sd card then use file browser eg astro to install .
if you do not have a file browser in that rom you can send a email to yourself with the apk (be sure to have unknown sources on ) then click download after it has downloaded it should apear in your download app or status bar click it then it will allow you to install the app .

you cant install system apps like that ..you have to get the original gallery.apk and place (copy paste using any file explorer) it in the system/app directory ..after that you have to set permisiions to rw-r-r using a root explorer and reboot..
use ES file explorer for all this stuff... it works as a root explorer as well....

I think u misunderstood , u just have to copy paste the app in system/app directory..after that just set permissions u don't have to install the app after that and if you don't try to install this app you wont get that error message , and after u set permission just reboot..
Btw, could u tell me the steps you are doing...?

Yes, done as you said.
First..copied the .apk file into system/app folder and setup permissions. and then reset to factory settings --> didn't work
then tried to same 2 steps and restarted the phone---> no luck.
i am unable to know what to do now.
