Dear all nexus-device owners, us poor legacy device owners with our unsupported LG G2s experience bad heat problems on our Aospa 4.6bx builds. Reason seems to be a rogue HwcVsyncThread in combination with SurfaceFlinger. Do you guys see similar effects?
D802 @ AOSPA 4.4
Nope

It looks like Synaptics released an updated firmware for the digitizer in the OnePlus One which fixes some typing/multi-touch issues that many OPO owners are having. Will this updated firmware be incorporated into the kernel in PA? I'm not personally having any problems, just curious on behalf of other OPO owners.
Yes. Any improvements upstream will make their way into our bacon

As far as I could gather, yes, it is possible to get Nougat.
Things we will NOT GET, because of the GPU we have are: OpenGL 3.1 / Vulkan. Those two are only embedded in Adreno 400 and upwards.
This would mean that there is a chance for problems with games that might migrate above OpenGL 3.0 (which we have).
As far as I'm aware, the differences between 3.1 and 3.0 are in the addition of new libraries, so if the game needs those new libraries 100% and doesn't offer a fallback option, we won't be able to play them.

Yeah i also see cm14 unofficial for Peregrine
hope so
Redmi1s won't get any more
Actually not a problem of xiaomi but of **** Google.
This is Android (and OEMs and Qualcomm) not looking far ahead to support devices. They don’t care about customers. After sale support non-existent.
Why is Apple able to support iPhone 5s (same age as Nexus 5) with iOS 10 and later? Because Apple made it compatible with METAL apk from day 1. Because it has hardware encryption since day 1.
Why is Apple able to support iPhone 5 (4 years old) with iOS 10? Because Apple is willing to!!! IPhone 5 does not support METAL nor does it have ARMv8 chip…yet iPhone 5 is getting iOS 10…minus raise to speak to Siri…it is getting 99% of iOS 10 features.
Remember, major software updates also bring with it security features beyond “monthly patches.”
So, with all the resources of software (Google) and hardware (OEM’s and Qualcomm), Android cannot support Nexu 5 and the likes?! It is like buying a laptop (since most phones cost the same) and can only use it for 2 years. That’s insane!
When will Android community wake up and demand more? Google, OEMs, and Qualcomm will only listen if money talks.
And it is this crap that explains horrible re-sale value of Android flagships!
Hi guys,
I'm currently in the market for a new Phone and have narrowed it down to either the OP3(T) or the ZTE Axon 7.
After watching the announcement for the OP3T yesterday I fear that either devs will stay with the original OP3 and neglect the new one, or the other way around.
My guess is that since the phones are very similar, it wouldn't take too much time to port the current roms for the OP3 to the OP3T.
I have the same fear about the Axon 7 and its two versions for the US and EU (I'm from Germany so I would get later updates and possibly less community development).
Are there any statements from the devs working on the OP3 about wether they will support the OP3T aswell?
I had the axon 7 and send it back due no dev support.
No custom Rom available and it won't be much in future.
Also eu version I a 2nd class device compared with us support...

Oneplus has already released resources for Oneplus 3T and since the hardware in both phones is not very different, the development should be good for both the devices, i think.
Hi, do you know if there is a version or there will be a version for this smartphone? I only see cm13 and it is June 2016.
First rule of Lineage is we do not as for etas
I understand then that for exynos you will not make rom? I say it to take it into account for upcoming smartphone
Unless LineageOS is going to run an all TouchWiz framework (More unlikely than a shark attacking on land), then I'd guess that it will have the exact same official support for all the exact same officially supported devices, long story short the last Note device with official support was pre-Note3 if my memory is correct. & any Exynos CM roms are half-cocked and never really expected to get past a User Build.....
Thanks

Anytime! I just wish we had a better chance than we do for custom builds but Samsung really doesn't care about us only consumers.
Hello,
The above devices are running perfectly on LOS14.1. For a long period I have appreciated and enjoyed the support from the Lineage team (and for the Shield also old CM). LOS Nougat does the job well, and keeps the devices humming (separate from their batteries which are getting a bit worn out).
For 14.1 feature updates are not needed, security patches continuing would be lovely. Why is LOS not handling this, or are they still? Why do they stop from one day to next?
For the S7 Edge there are unofficial LOS roms (both Oreo and Pie) available but they are not able to have SELinux to "enforcing". So, they seem a bit risky.
Are there readers with perspective and/or advise on how to move from here with these devices?
Thanks to maintainers for both official and unofficial versions already here.

If your inquiring about options for those devices, I don't have either of them myself but, I've seen allot of possibilities for them within the following prospective Device Dedicated Areas of the forum.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/shield-tablet
https://forum.xda-developers.com/s7-edge
Personally, it's odd how the Galaxy S5 device has progressed over to the LineageOS 16.0 while all the Galaxy S7 variants lost their previously assigned Lineage Team Maintainers.
Let's stay optimistic and hope that these devices will be picked up again (at least the S7 variants). It may be something that they temporarily dropped till the bugs can be worked out for the others. You never know.
I do wish you the best of luck!
