[Q] Best kernel for battery life? Any recommendations? - HTC One X

I'm currently using Android Revolution HD 33.1 with lONELyX #017 kernel, with S2W enabled (But never gets used)
I'm looking for a good kernel with the best battery life, could anyone recommend one good with your experiences.

no best kernel try them all and take decision. This is forbiden in XDA no such thing like best rom or best kernel or any thing best. Here everything is the best but you must take decision wich one is best for you.

Reason for this thread is because they're isn't much choice of kernels for ARHD 33.1, previous build 4.1.2 there was plenty of kernels, lONELyX #017 used be brilliant for battery, but lately not so good

use trickster or faux clock to change governor and UV. If you thing only change kernel without change any parameter inside the kernel will increase the battery live you are in big mistake. And to this moment #17 is good kernel for battery live and on @audahadi too and faux too. This is the tree kernel that you can use but faux is more for AOSP.

Best kernel and rom for speed and battery life ?

Hi, tell me to choose the best rom and kernel please.......I'm not expert for android phones.
LOL .............no one ?
It's hard to say which one exactly will be perfect for you. The best you can do is just swap roms around, try them for a few days and see which one suits your phone best. There are plenty of them. Check LeeDroid', Oxygen (based on Gingerbread).. there are some HD roms as well.

Try any of the stock roms with kernel support for OC, and see the different SetCPU modes. Also remove crappy startup widgets.
ok tnx for now I'm with coutts 2.6.38 rc7 havs cfs......

[Q]Which Kernel are you using?

Hello All!
I made a similar thread to this over at the SGSII forums and was wondering what your answers are. So, the question is simple, which Kernel are you using and is the battery decent? Or a pile of rubbish? Lemme know. Poll has been setup with the main Kernels, I'll put an "other" option for people who are using new Kernels.
So, poll away!

was using James Bond kernel 1.35 OC UV, never crash or lag. far better battery life than stock and super smooth.
right now i am testing faux123's kernel V9u for 4.0.2.

I tried Faux 4.0.3 Kernel yesterday, battery was losing 2% every 30 mins on idle, with next to 0 apps installed.
Running Stock AOKP Milestone 2 kernel, whichever kernel that is!
I wanna try different kernel but my ROM is perfect, not sure sure what other kernels may add that my rom already has and does.

As far as features go, Franco.Kernel adds color and vibrance to your screen. Its also tweakable so you can customize the color settings as you please. Battery is apparently awful though.

I am sort of noticing that battery life isn't so great too, although I wasn't sure since I haven't been running it for very long.
I was also looking for the best kernel.
Everybody talks about franco.Kernel. I will give it a try though.
Was using Franco's until earlier and now back to the Apex kernel that comes with bigxie's AOSP build
Eh? Franco kernel has the best battery life for me.

I just loaded on Lean kernel yesterday. Initial indications are that the battery life is extremely good.
180mhz cpu while screen off = happy battery.
Giving glaDOS a try.. it has some cool features like turn the screen on by touching it.. also has color control and battery life seems pretty decent so far. Big fan of imoseyon though.

I'm currently on Bigxie Build 8 with the Kernel included with it. Battery is pretty good. Underclocked my CPU to 970MHz. Losing 2% battery overnight (About 8 hours) and High usage I'm getting a decent amount of battery.
I'm wondering: I'm running ARHD 2.1.3 and thinking about flashing a kernel. Franco's had more options, but I'm getting that Jame Bonds kernel has a better battery life. That appeals to me. edit: ah, I see that Franco's is only for 4.0.3
Still, when I flash the kernel with ARHD 2.1.3 running, is it better to flash the anykernel.zip or should I just flash the original kernel?
Argh, just in the fun, looking for the best kernel. I'm between Franco's and Der Kernel Trinity NP (by the way, NP, Google, don't let Samsung impose it's boring naming system)
Trinity offers 512OC for the GPU, but I'd say Franco gives a better battery life....
Hmmmm difficult decision, isn't it? What do you guys think?
Currently rocking the Trinity kernel with mildly OC'd GPU (384 MHz).
I'm using imoseyon's kernel. I love minimalist kernels. Stable, fast, and not full of crapfeatures that just cause everything to crash and SOD and bootloop.
I think it's probably a good idea to give a try first of the kernel that comes with the ROM. Developers often adjust the ROM around the kernel they use and vice versa.
i went back to the James Bond kernel, no reboot or lag.
Lean IMO

[Q] Best Kernel Performances?

Hey Guys!
Okay, like the title questions - Which is the best kernel out there?
Please specify in terms of battery life / performance / speed etc.
I've used franco and Popcorn till now, both are great but I must admit that the battery life on the franco kernel is better whereas the screen looks better on popcorn due to that different colour management thing the Dev uses.
Well , There is not clear answer on what the best kernel is for everyone , actually the most populer kernel in xda develepers are Franco kernel and james bond kernel , I go back to stock rom and I've been using stock rom and it's 4.0.2 , that's why and Franco kernel doesn't support 4.0.2 , I choose james bond kernel and I'm happy with it

i`ve tested all available kernels in the last days and have to say morfic`s latest trinity test kernel called aelp works best for me. good battery life on standby, in use and smooth in every situation.
Franco for me. Your milage is going to vary. Try them all until you find the one that works best for your phone.

[Q] Which kernel work best for you? [subjective/objective]

Hey guys. I'd like to know what kernel you think suits you best. I'm looking for both subjective answers and objective answers. Which of the following suits you best?
Franco kernel
Trinity kernel
Faux kernel
Glados kernel
Stock CM kernel
Other
Please post a comment explaining why you have chosen the way you did. Feel free to discuss any kernel and also share your phenomenal tips and tricks.
glados for:
best compromise (for me)for performance\battery
fully featured like many others kernels but.....most of these features came from glados's dev,and then others dev implement it,love liveOC and is the unique with that feature, the dev is very gentle and available, the kernel can be adjusted via the control app,and IMHO is more good that trinity\franco's app for features, dispositions, colors, style etc.
i tried and used all the kernels and buyed all the dev's control app.my choice is glados, after 2\3 months of usage i don't want to came back.the best for my usage\tastes\preferences.
only 2 things that i miss:
a minimal slot of 190\220 mhz
preset pre-configured like franco's app (powersave,music,high power,etc etc..)
The kernel packaged with CM9 is faux, unless the CM team uses faux as a base and changes something in it..
Franco for me, despite some issues he is devoted to making his kernel perfect and his app is really good too for updating. Makes life a lot easier. With Franco's kernel I can say I have hardly ever had an app FC. I've tried other kernels but I just find with Franco's there is just more consistency and when I look at his thread I know what is going on almost instantly. This is my experience. I also like Fugu kernel and Trinity and GLAdos so on occasion I will try them out.
No Lean Kernel? Probably one of the most popular Kernel's out there
IAP Samurai kernel just rolled on the scene and couple of weeks ago. It's in the Sprint Gnex development section. I recommend giving it a try, Earthbound did some real good kernels in the OG Epic. Community and now he's brought his talents to the Gnex. It is based on Faux, but with IAP twists.

Currently switch between cm9 plus and leankernel. Both have a great balance of performance and battery life
I use the CMplus Kernel from here, he works with no problems under CM9 by me.

I completely agree. Franco/Lean kernel is the way to go. If I had more time throughout the day I'd like to try out the others again, but I don't feel like there's a need. Franco's kernel and app are great!

The one you configure best. They dont come with magical code, all these roms and kernels are basically build from same sources, so its all about how you use your phone. Enough of this nonsense threads, a new one everyday
