Hey all,
I have read all over the place but I honestly get more confused the more I read. I wanted to switch to another OS since my phone was starting to become bogged down (too many pictures, videos, old files, etc etc etc; My phone is my work tool since I'm a field sales engineer)
So I went ahead and rooted it with ODIN 3 v1.85 and I317-UCUBMK6.tar.md5. I also installed TWRP although I have no clue which version it is. I suppose it's the latest one. My bootloader is 4.3 (I think; I go to About Device and I see the android version 4.3)
I always do the full swipe and a NANDROID back up. However, when I flash a custom ROM, I always end up stuck on the Samsung Galaxy Note II screen. It won't go.
I have tried to install the following ROM's:
DN3 - Always says "Failed" when I try to flash, even when following instructions of reboot recovery and flash again.
JEDI X 20 - Go through the entire aroma installer - it installs - asks for reboot - when rebooting, stuck as Samsung Galaxy Note 2 screen
and it pretty much happens with all of them. I have decided to back to stock (because I was a retard and accidentally deleted my NANDROID backup) and now I find my WIFI is broken.
I pretty sure this has all been discussed in various threads but I rather bring it all into one so that all that are having the same issue as me (I read a lot of people complaining about this issue with very scattered replies) can have a single thread that addresses how to fix this.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I suppose you have an AT&T Note 2 so this section is wrong. Here is for N710X.

Hi.
My son's Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) is having some serious issues. HE has been crack flashing everything under the son (Just like his data) and recently he tried a 4.3 rom (Not sure which one). He started to get random crashes so he flashed back to one of the 4.2.2 rom. Then the phone started crashing all the time so I hooked it up the the Nexus toolkit (I assume it is the one everyone uses) and decided to do a full wipe. The phone was basically two folders and would not boot past the Google logo.
When I hooked it up to the tool kit software it was recognized and I flashed the stock (VZ) rom, no root. When I booted the phone it would go to the start screen looking for WiFi and when I tried to go through the start up process the phone would lock up and reboot. I cannot get past this point to do any troubleshooting.
So is this a hardware issue (The phone is toast) or am I missing something as far as doing a complete wipe to get back to bone stock?
Thank you for your help. (I have as well as my son have been trolling this site and others looking for answers but since I can boot up most did not apply, I think)

Right off the bat, do NOT use toolkits anymore. Please. You need to learn how to use Fastboot.
The best thing to do is start completely fresh. Download latest Galaxy Nexus factory images and fastboot them.
If you have no idea how to use fastboot, I suggest going to this thread and reading up my man: [GUIDE]New To Adb And Fastboot Guide
Any other questions or help I can gladly answer.
Hi all,
I made a dumb move and installed the CM11 port for my T320 without backing up my Samsung stock firmware. (I'd post over in the appropriate thread in the development section, but I haven't posted here frequently enough to be allowed over there). I want to go back to the Samsung UI for now because I am having some troubles with CM11 ... my tablet thinks it's a phone, so I'm not getting the tablet features and app versions. Plus something is off with my screen so that some apps (Flipboard, at least) runs everything off the right side and bottom of the screen. Anyway, does anyone have an idea of how to get me back to my Samsung UI? I can't get Kies to talk to my tablet (another thing that cropped up with this CM build) so I can't get that to reflash it for me.
I have downloaded an Odin-flashable Samsung stock firmware from Australia (I'm in the US) so I'm guessing that will work, but I'd rather find an easier option before I give my tablet a globetrotting split identity disorder or something.
Please understand, I've rooted, reflashed, and even unbricked devices before, so I'm not new to this, just made a dumb mistake.
I believe that is the only way to go. The good news is you can install twrp recovery now so it shouldnt be an issue again. Bad news is there isnt a flashable stock firmware that I know of yet. Im kinda hoping for cleanrom as he did a hell of a job on the note 3 and knows the system better than most.

I've used Samsung Kies from my PC several time to go back to stock.
When using Kies you may have to switch your connection from MTP to the other option and of course check debug.
I went back and forth from CM11 several time plus I did what you did also except I used the New Zealand version
Here's what I did to restore stock from Kies.
Plug in the tablet, open Kies, and click Tools then Firmware upgrade and initialization. Type in SM-T320, hit okay, then add your serial number.
Basically just follow the steps it asks you and make sure your tablet is in download mode. It will download the stock firmware image and flash it to the device.
My instructions might now be 100% accurate, but that's basically the process I took to restore it to factory.

Thanks man. That post brought a lot to light. So I have the MK6 firmware but the LJ2 bootloader. I'll try doing what Zen Arcade says there but unfortunately I cant download his files. The website he's hosting the files from has severe lag and the files stop downloading.
I'll get back to you on how this goes once I'm able to download them.

Finally downloaded it. Installed it and got that particular operating system working. I will try to get some customs roms installed. Thanks for the help man!
i have a samsung galaxy note 2 GT-N7100 international. i have been rooted for
over a year and have successfully loaded more than 10-15 ROM's. most of these
are in the 4.4.1 - 4.4.4 OS range. these load OK.
my problem is with most all of the rom's ported for the N-7100 coming from 5.0
to 6.0+ OS's. most of these are based off of cyangen mods compiles. the
symptom i have is: after following the directions in the compiler's post, i
get to the boot splash screen yet no further. no boot loop: it just never
boots up. i have waited 10" min for first boot. i waited 30" on 2 of them.
they just wont boot up. ever. my details are as follows below. im looking
for help on this because i know the problem must be on my end....all of these
compilers cannot all be wrong.
- im following OP directions always to the T; usually these include factory
reset (cache, dav cache, data wipes), sometimes they want system wiped too.
then you flash the ROM, then gapps. then you reboot.
this is standard. but sometimes they want you to also wipe cache + dav cache
AGAIN after the reload, then, reboot. in my mind, such a complete ROM install
removes all error from users like me...what more can you wipe?
- im always using ROM's designated only for the GT-N7100 int version note 2.
always.
roms that have NOT installed lately:
- [OFFICIAL][6.0.1][v6.0][STABLE]BlissRoms
- [ROM][5.1.1][Haxynox] AOSP for n7100
- [ROM][6.0.1][n7100]RESURRECTION REMIX 5.6.x[CM13]
- Alliance ROM for Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100
roms that DO LOAD:
- Criskelo ROM for Galaxy Note GT-N7100
- Sungsonic HD ROM for Galaxy Note 2 GT-N7100
- DN4 ROM GT-N7100
- [ROM][GT-N7100][TW 4.4.4] Eclipse By AC
again: i need help with this problem which is my problem: in the list above
the unsuccessful rom's boot only to the splash screen, then hang. for 30+
min. no boot loop's, they dont boot at all.
i CAN later reboot into recovery or bootloader OK. i can re-install from previous
nandroid backup OK. i just CANNOT get them to boot. even after wiping both
caches and data and system before flashing, and, even after wiping both caches
afterwards.
more details:
1) im using both twrp 2.8.7.0 and latest cwm 6.0.4.3 touch recoveries. i
prefer and use twrp. ive tried loading the above failed roms above with both
recoveries, no help. i didnt think it mattered which recovery was used until
one time, the system partition didnt mount on twrp after a failed rom install.
it would'nt wipe nor format on twrp. i could not reinstall my nandroid
backup and was stuck.
i later flashed cwm 6.0.4.3 and it fixed it (the system partition problem,
but, cwm never installed the above rom's either). so there is a difference
after all but not much.
2) my roms are stored on my ext sd card. not sure if that's impt.
what's my problem?
1) if it's me please help
2) is it my phone? my GT-N7100 was bought in turkey. is my hardware really
different (ie chipset) from other international GT-N7100's. if so, what does
samsung mean by an international version?
i think the problem is on my end because other posters have said they loaded
same rom's OK.
any advice would be appreciated. im trying to upgrade to the 5.0+ OS's
because the new API's contained therein would open up the full manual camera
setting controls on the note 2...provided thru various apps that require 5.0+
android releases. granted, the note 2 camera wouldn't stop a clock, but it's
the phone i have. now. i like photograghy.
rather than buy a note 5 for $600, im trying to get these above rom's to
install. thanks all.
noted: im also looking into buy a nice camera for $600 that would take better
pics than a new phone: just pls help me with the above problem.
Hi folks,
I'm after some information. My Nexus 4 is about kaput now with the battery lasting about 4 hours or so with a full charge so I am looking to move over to my S4 mini for a while before buying an upgrade.
However i don't fancy rolling back to 4.4.2 from 5.1.1 as have got accustomed to it now. so there for I am looking to upgrade/flash it or whatever.
I am quite the novice and have not done this on any phone before so I am looking for a bit of help,
I have looked over xda and read some bits but think someone just telling me would be better, i'm not a tech dunce but I am not 100% confident in this at the moment as there seems to be more than one way of doing this.
What do i need to do first and foremost to make the process go as planned?
I take it I need to "root" the phone first (what does this do ? give me access to the firmware level? is that it?) using a "recovery tool" as they are called (is that right?)
Then after I have done that I can install a fresh ROM onto the phone and basic app's etc.
I have seen these guides:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980
and
http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...i9190-i9195-cyanogenmod-13-0-s4-mini-t3276141
Is it just a matter of following them or are there other things I need to do first, in between or after?
I am not bothered about anything being saved on the s4 mini it can be wiped clean and start a fresh, I don't need any of my data on it backed up
A quick bullet guide or acknowledgement of the two threads above or pointing me towards some better ones would be great and any pointers or descriptions of the acronyms or places in menu's which may have had their names changed or have been moved.
Many thanks Everyone,
Dahools
Hi!, you dont need to worry about anything, the only thing that you need is follow these guides, but make sure if you have the correct variant.
First Install Kies and connect your phone to it( For correct phone drivers). And after phone connect wells, Close kies from task manager.
You Need Odin to install a recovery software in your phone(TWRP, Clock Recovery, Philip). I only used twrp now.
Here is link below with instruction. Download recovery for your variant(i9190,i9192 or i9195 base on your model).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2678420
Suppose if you install TWRP. Boot into recovery, And click Wipe, Do a factory reset , Clear Devil cache, Then go back and install your Firmware(cm12.1 or cm13 for your intended model). And flash Gapps as well. Then reboot. And you are done.
I have tried TWRP for both i9190 and i9192 model. and installed custom roms. Work fine.
Good Luck.
thanks fellas
I went for it with the original links and it worked. (eventually) A bit of user error on my part missing recovery mode on reboot first time and thinking it was done when it wasn't. Only putting the first bit in (root kit v2) then not realising how to flash the next parts. A bit of persistence paid off.
I have a I9195 model and rooting with that clockwork worked then loading the CM13 and then the Gapps. All one after the other in one go finally worked for me! so so far so good, just getting used to Android 6 now I think everything is working though, not put my sim in yet. will do that tomorrow.
If anyone was to follow what I did the big tip I would say is copy everything onto the SD card before you start anything, not as I did at first just putting the first bit on then thinking I can copy the next bit on later . . .
