Notification led - Xperia Z1 Compact Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi, it's possible adjust the brightness of the LED notification that shone more clearly? Thanks

No one knows how to increase the intensity of the notification LED?

Hi!
There was a workaround where users removed a "sponge" which is put over the LED.
You can read it here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/son...s-apps/req-brighter-notification-led-t2873460
Be aware that this MIGHT impact your water resistance. For further questions you might ask in this thread then

Thanks. But this is not a solution, it does not look good. I increase the voltage of the diode, it would help me.

[Q] DHD Flashlight as a reading light.

Hey peeps!
Question First: Has anyone else found a LED flashlight app that works well on the DHD or Inspire that can dim the LED right down?
I want to use the LED on the back as a reading light so I don't have to drain the battery by using the screen but its simply too bright.
I am running an Inspire 4G on Revo HD 6.3.1. The stock flashlight app works well with the 3 levels avaliable and I don't want to kill the LEDs by over running them.
There are tonnes of flashlight apps out there, some using the led and some not. The ones I have researched either don't have a brightness adjustment on the LED or attempt to burn a hole in a sheet of paper.
The only app that I have found which relates to this is call "Reading Light" and is just an adjustable brightness grey screen.
If this has been discussed before please let me know and i'll request this thread be closed. I couldn't find anything regarding this aspect of the topic.
Regards,
Akida
I don't think this has come up before. Its a good request. I'd be interested in something like this.
Bump
Bump for confirmation of possibility please!
Btw .. how often am I allowed to bump? I couldn't find it in the forum rules.
CM 7.1 has a application called Torch which has two light levels. The dim one seems like it would be perfect for reading (it only uses 1 of the 2 flash LEDs). The bright level is insanely bright (much brighter than the Sense flashlight app).
There is an app on the market called Torch, but I don't think its the same one that comes with CM 7.1.

Hey that sounds like its worth a shot. Has anyone extracted the app from CM 7.1? I'm going to ask them for permission anyway.
Thanks for the info.

LED Notification brightness !

Hi all
I'd be interested to know if anyone else finds the led notification light on our ZL is just not bright enough, I really struggle to see it flashing when out in direct daylight especially on a sunny day. I use my ZL as a business phone and rely quite heavily on the notification led for emails and sms notifications when quickly glancing at the phone in meetings and out on site visits, on numerous occasions now I have not responded to emails and sms as quick as I would have liked due to not noticing the led flashing when out in sunlight.. I've done a bit of digging about on forums and Google but cant find any suggestions on a way to adjust the XZL led brightness, there is a mod for Xperia 2011 devices which I've tried but unfortunately this doesn't work on Sony's latest devices,I've searched the system files and build.prop but cant find any reference to the led brightness.
So with this said I would be grateful to find out if anybody knows where the led control files in the system files are located or better still a mod that can adjust the brightness.
I'm using Illumination Bar Notification from playstore. You can adjust colours and brightness, but I don't think you can make the light brighter with this app.

[Q] Xperia S led bar policy with Opensemc-U RC2

Hi,
I just installed the ROM OpenSEMC-U CM 10.1 RC2 on my Sony Xperia S and it seems to be working just fine except for one little thing :
The led bar for the buttons lights up every time I touch the screen whereas it only lit up when hitting the buttons on the offical ROMs.
I already searched the forum and some advised to look for an xposed module that would do this.
I didn't find any.
Do you have a solution ?
I you only have a few information on how it's handled in the system, I could try to build the xposed module myself but I don't know where to find the part of the system handling this functionnality.
I would have posted this in the right development forum but I don't have the rights because I juste created my accout...
Thanks.
Regards.
Up !
Does anyone have an idea ?
Thanks.
I've come across some posts about the sys files controlling the leds :
I've seen you can change the lightning behaviour by changing values affected to the virtual files /sys/class/leds/button-backlight/ ...
The problem is that there are several values I can change and I couldn't find any documentation. For example, I wonder if the file trigger cannot be set to a value for which it only lights up when the buttons are touched and not every time the screen is touched.
Regards.

If we can figure out which parameter to change, we can then write into thoses virtual files in the hw-config script file, which sets the parameters right on startup.

[Q] Xp M LED Notification Light

Does anybody know how to control LED pulse Notification light on Xp M?? 'coz the stock setting make LED to lightup very slowly n the gap b/w pulses r very long... I hav found this article but didn't understand properly. Can somebody help
http://developer.sonymobile.com/2013/06/20/new-experimental-illumination-bar-api-available/
Use LightFlow, the best one from many I tested. You can find it in Play Store...
Used Light Flow but it didn't worked well on my Xp M (ss). Although Light Manager - LED Settings, working perfectly. But I saw a LED strip lighting up in the article i provided link for, like on Xp U/S/P. So i was a bit curious.
LED strip is available only in Xperia S/U/P/SP as far as I know... Other Xperias has just a multicolored LED, like our Xperia M

XPERIA S light strip is...just a white light strip to assist with the three off screen touch buttons (menu, home, back) and does nothing with notifications.
The XPERIA S just has a small LED, whereas the XPERIA M has a wider notification light, but not width of the phone.
So the XPERIA M still has a bigger notification LED area than a lot of XPERIA phones.

Thnx for the link! Have the same question still no answer - I tried a few Xposed modules but with no luck Light manager's FAQ document says "Sony Xperia M - Only work when STAMINA mode is disabled" I guess that's the problem, cause I constantly use STAMINA mode. I'll try to play with illumination bar API, hope there's a solution.

Here's the Xposed module, which solves this problem.

Finger print LED as Notification LED

Hi guys
I was thinking if it is possible to use finger print scanner LED as a notification LED? I know it may not be currently possible but just floating the idea for the devs who make things possible all the time
I know the LED is huge to be used as notification LED but some people would love to have an LED instead of a ringtone or vibration alerts, thanks in advance for any help in this regard
I don't know if this is possible but this is a fantastic idea.
If this is actually possible it would be awesome!
Great idea, but is there really a separate LED ? I had always assumed that the FP uses the green lighting from the display itself....

Yes I thought it was like that.
I think it doesn't matter if there's a separate LED to light up the display or part of the screen itself is used as a notification LED, but I think all possibilities are there, to choose the color, random colors each time or per app, position on the screen etc...
I don't really see the point in using those specific pixels as a notification LED when any other pixels on the display work just as well. And if anything, you'd want to avoid lighting up the fingerprint pixels too much since they are being used more at high brightness and therefore more susceptible to burn-in.

I want one to do like Samsung's edge lighting. That with Pixel Pulse would be perfect.
Amy work on this?
I disabled fps on my 6t because of the annoyingly high brightness of this green circle when your finger is close!
I don't think there is a led, I saw a video where they open the 6t and access the sensor module, it's just a camera sensor under the screen, the amoled brightness is boosted in this particular part of the screen, that's all.
Thanks God they didn't use a laser light, half the people would go (really) blind.
You can use an app like noled to simulate a led anywhere on your screen.
What about this app?

Yes, that is the app that a lot of us have been using with no issues. You just have to go into the settings and tweak it to your likings.
