Based on Roto T-Mobile Modem Switcher! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=871021
!carefully follow ROTO's modemswitch installation instructions!
1. download the T959uvjl5 modem http://rapidshare.com/#!download|963...odem.tar|12584
2. unzip into your /sdcard/modemswitch/
3. rename modem.bin in to ROTO-3G_modem.bin
4. switch modems from GScript Lite! Enjoy.

Is it something new or just instructions for installing roto`s modem switcher?
Can u make calls on AWS?
In canada voice calls are only possible as canadian aws carriers do not have gsm network.

the link to the modem doesnt work. i doubt this will give US tmobile folks 3G and phone tho.

I have read so many threads and I need answers.
1. How do US T-mobile users get 3g and phone?
2. Will the modem switcher do this?
3. What is the most current rom to install?

The title is very misleading. It's wether 2g and voice or 3g only made available using the modem switcher.
It will never be like the AT&T that can use 3g and voice. Boo!

He used modem from a cell phone that can do both voice and 3G. The modem switcher is just used to flash the modem but is completely unnecessary, he could have used redbend or heimdall just to flash the modem and be done with it. This is a major win for TMO users.

Yes you are right! but I wished to make modemswitch process more safe for users who do not like use Odin or heimdall flashing several times

No 1700 so that means no 3G and voice on US tmobile tab

It might work for tmobile /wind users as well if somebody can replace RIL libraries / modules with vibrant stuff.

so this modem can be flashed with odin, and will it work with any rom or the euro rom only ??

only for euro rom due phone dialer ability. may be flashed any preferred way.

Big thanks to author of thread. It's helped me a lot! A thought that problem im my tablets receiver ^^
But now appeared another problem – leak of battery. During night, in sleep mode it’s discharges on 30% (around).
Can u propose another modem?

I was unable to use 3G with phone call but now I have both on my Tab. Thanks so much.
My result: (I don't have a screen shot to show you guys) "H" sign (HSDPA right?) on notification bar and, of course, phone function works!

it works just as I've said in other previous posts cause it's a galaxys tmobile modem but it got the max step volume bug on JMx firmwares.the max volume is two steps back than what it should be after it decreases...this is issue is not present on if you use it on jk5 firmwares.same things happen if you use jk5 modem on jmx firmwares-...but I'm trying to fix it asap

after flashed a N7100 Rom to my I317M, I got unknown baseband and IMEI

I got my galaxy note ii from Canada Rogers network just yesterday. In order to add more language option, I falshed a N7100 ROM to my I317M. After that I got no signal on the phone, and I check into the 'about device' option, I see unknown baseband, IMEI, network and so on. I had backup the efs file, but when I trying to flash back to my phone, just nothing happen.
I did research on that, find out that to flash a stock ROM maybe have a chance to fix the problem. however, I can not find a Rogers stock ROM anywhere, so I am writing to ask if someone can help me about to fix the phone. Thanks very much.

Consider yourself LUCKY you don't have a brick right now. There is a reason there are different threads on here for each of the galaxy note 2 variants. There was talk about being able to flash roms of one variant on to another but I don't think much lead way was made. My suggestion to you is, 1. find a stock i317M rom and flash it using pc odin and then stick only to the thread corresponding to the variant you have to flash custom roms!

If you hunt around in the different variants development forums, you'll see that it's possible to flash roms from one variant to another. The catch is, if the variants have different radios (LTE/HSPA vs just HSPA), you'll lose all cell functions, which is exactly what happened to the OP. That's probably not a trade-off most people are willing to make, but I'm hopeful this is an easy issue for devs to overcome.

I found a ROGERS_MODEM_I317MVLALJ2 file, I will try to flash the Att version of stock rom to my phone and flash the rogers modem file after, ill get back if I done it.

I was try to flash the ATT stock rom using odin, but keeping get fail message, any suggestion? ill upload the pic after

Have fun, and if you ever feel the need to flash an inteenational rom again make sure to grab an n7105 rom.. its the lte version
Also have you tried with out repartition ticked

and to nandroid your current ROM so you have something to go back on.

When I put pit file in Odin, the repartition ticked itself. Also tried unticked, no working either

get the odin tar here, rename the file without the md5, put it in PDA and flash!
then download the modem, and put in Phone and flash it!

[Q] Wifi problem on 4.3

when i flash rom with v4.3 , my wifi keep closed by itself. Is it only me encountered the problem or is it the bug in v 4.3 ??
for example when i try to open an online app such as play store , it said that there is no network connection.. NEED HELP PLEASE

It didn't do anything for me, as other programs and recommendations. Any 4.3 gives this problem with WiFi for me too..
I switched back to a 4.1 rom and everything works fine.
Any recommendations guys as to what can create this issue?

well wifi does not affect much of baseband but majorly 3g/4g data is interupted depending on the connection reachibility due to baseband

my wifi cant connet...please help...

Yes. Even I had that problem... I think when signal becomes low, the connection gets disconnected automatically.

Hey i've got the same problem with Wifi but I found something in wifi settings ... Auto network switch I'll try to turn it off and see if it fixes the issue

I think "Auto network switch" is related to Mobile Data and it has nothing to do with WiFi....
There seems to be something else which bothers... I had this problem when I was using Rooted version of ROM. Now I am having unrooted original ROM and everything seems to be fine.. I really don't know what was wrong before.

my phone too but when phone is in flight mode, wifi is good why?? (sorry if i cant spk english well)

JB 4.3 Wifi staying idle with note 2
Hi guys, yesterday I have flash Dr.Ketan's V3 ROM based on 4.3 leaked rom with MI6 Modem. As he explain, I applied v3.1 and v3.2 updates too.
Wifi connecting there is no problem but it always "connected" often. And almost all the time wifi transfer staying idle. I mean, there is connection but no data transfer ( 0 k/b )
Im waiting 40-50 seconds and data connection is back again.. I flash ketan's wifi fix update too, and I have tried wifi power save mode: no and also fly mode as people says. But I have still same problem. And its really annoying.

knox blocking wifi
h,guys. I upgraded my note 2 N7100 to 4.3 through kies (it was purchased from Singapore). after the upgrade I lost call facility and would get a 'emergency calls only' notification. after spending hours on the net I managed to resolve the issue with MK4 kernel & MJ9 modem patch but with a glitch. while calls have been restored, I cannot connect to wifi. in fact i can't even switch on wifi as knox blocks is with a message "an unauthorized action has been blocked by your phone's security". please help me. just to add i've rooted the phone but super user too is blocked by knox.

I have a Samsung S4 mini duos. I am not sure where it was purchased, probably UK or DE.
I updated it to stock 4.4.2 from sammobile. Tried several firmwares, but WiFi was not working. These are not working: Sri lanka, Russia, New zealand. The only one I managed to support Wifi was this Panama ROM:

I have also used CSC to set it to SEB (baltics).
Now everything is working fine more or less (battery life is bad on 3G, good on 2G), however I am unable to get mobile signature working. It was working fine on stock rooted 4.2.2. The card is inserted to SIM2, it is working properly: sending messages, calling, receiving calls. However, whenever I try to use mobile signature, I am asked by SMS toolkit (I guess) to check my data. When I click OK, it says ERROR DF 19 00.
My operator says this error is related to phone's software (I have tried it on other phone and it works). Anyone knows what is happening and how do I fix this?
Also are there any other stock roms available, closer to baltic states or UK/DE at least? Maybe Panama has some weird GSM settings.
And why does WiFi not work with other roms, like Russian?

Hi dude i pass for the same problem and the only you have to do is reflash the rom throu odin, for example i flash once the russian one and i did not have wifi working the first time, so i reflash it again and "voila" wifi start working,
look you can flash this rom http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s4-mini/development/s5-s4-mini-t2987500 via recovery and see if its work for you, use philz recovery to flash it, and in the installation process there will be a part where your select you CSC, and of course this rom have a very good battery improves Gl mate!

Flash rusian firmware until the baseband change
Power off phone using power key a menu
Restart in Odin mode using combo keys power home vol down
Flash firmware in ap
Let it boot and check if has changed

it is strange, but shutting down before flashing actually helped right away.
So now I am running stock russian (EN menu) firmware, however mobile signature is still not working.
Anyone familiar with SIM toolkit errors? Error DF 02 00 or DF 19 00.
Is there a log somewhere?

Sim Unlocked phone got locked again. Please help!

Guys, I unlocked my Sprint Note 4 successfully on 5.0.1 (OF5) using the idone app. Later I Odin it to stock COG5 5.1.1 tar. Once I did that, my hotspot and roaming options disappeared from settings. In order to get data working on my operator (non US CDMA), I had to write a dummy NV Dump and had to change few other parameters (trial n error). I finally got data working but I changed too many parameters. So I decided to ##RTN#, so that I can reset back those parameters and start fresh from begining.
Right after the reboot, it started to display "invalid card". I tried different sim but same result. I tried to Odin back to stock COG5 tar but it didnt help. Now that I'm on 5.1.1, I'm unable to use idone app to sim unlock again. And since I'm on COG5 firmware, cant downgrade as well.
Please help me out guys.

You absolutely CAN use the idone app on OG5. You need to flash that OG5 file from Odin, flash TWRP from ODin, then the Beast Kernel and superuser from recovery. As long as you have the IMEI file from buying your unlock on your SD, it will unlock again. I went through the same issue with one of my Notes just yesterday. You can use the unlock app a million times as long as it's on the same device as the IMEI as originally paid and unlocked. It's a little bit of work, however I did all from A to Z in 15 minutes. Good luck, but it CAN be done. Good luck, and happy flashing.

Now in the trouble of getting hotspot to work. No hotspot option under my settings. Didnt work even with idone apps.

I see no direct option for hotspot under settings. But i can get to hotspot settings using idone app. But no devices are able to connect note 4 hotspot. It keeps on showing connecting and time outs. Please help me enable native hotspot.
