Hi guys, yesterday i bought new toy LG G3 :fingers-crossed:, i had LG G2 and i was soooo happy with it, but i just dropped it on the ground . So touch screen was completely broken, i decided not to repair it, but instead buy a new version. But to my surprise, LG G3 missing lots of feature which was on LG G2, it is really annoying, but anyway, i still like it, but one thing i miss the most. Plug and Pop feature. Is there somebody, who know how to install this feature without root (that wouldn't be a big problem, but still i don't really want to root it) and flashing ROM? Please?
Same exact thing happened to me yesterday. Dropped my g2 shattered the screen. So I bought the g3. No plug and pop here either. No Roms yet but they're working on unlocking. Miss my g2 already. I had that thing screaming

That looks like a great ROM and also it should have same feature like G2, which is awesome :good: but this means, that i have to flash new ROM, which i don't really want to, because it might cause problems like problem with signal 4G, 3G and 2G and so on. I would like to have stock ROM, because it will work perfectly every time. But i can expect that i have a bad luck, right?

I was just talking about plug and pop yestarday. Lol. A lot of people that owned the G2 didn't really care for it, but I liked it. I flashed the above zip via recovery and all is well. If you don't have recovery you can unzip the files and place them in their respective folders and change permissions rw-r-r
If you manually move the files it works just fine. I'm using the F460S with v10j.

Why not use tasker and have it launch apps for you ?
If you wanted a choice of apps then you can do that with a scene, otherwise just launch the music player of your choice

Because installing this is easier in most cases. It took me 30 seconds to move all of the files so that's simple and fast.
How can i change permissions to rw-r-r ?
EDIT
Sorry, i don't need it anymore. Thank you so much to zmeeed1.

What did you use to move?
Did you just put the files in the root?
How did you set all the files to rw-r-r at the same time?
I know its noob, but I'm not that much into fastboot, so if this could be done only using root access and a fiebrowser i would be happy

Yes this can be easily done with simply root browser (I used jrummy's).
Just move the files to the appropriate system folders and manually set proper permission for each file. I think there is only one file that needs to be overwritten. The rest are new.
Just an fyi if you use this it will remove your option to select apps for the quick circle funtions under the settings menu. I have a q-circle case so I had to restore back.

I really like the stock G2 boot image, but without being animated, it felt very stiff and boring. So I added some animation to it. It's very simple, with the fading grey lines at the top and bottom moving to the left slowly:

"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
(this is a low quality GIF, the actual animation looks better, I promise)
I made this mostly for myself, but it turned out better than I expected so I wanted to share it. This is my very first boot animation, so be gentle in your criticism. This is an 800x480 boot animation, so it should work on other devices with that screen resolution, though I don't know why you'd want a G2 boot screen on your Nexus One or Droid Incredible.
To use this animation, use adb or a root explorer app to put the file in /data/local and make sure it's named bootanimation.zip. The file is attached below, or you can download it from MediaFire.
UPDATE: I just finished the modified version of this boot animation that replaces the T-Mobile logo with the HTC logo. Aside from that, they're the same. The new one is attached below, or you can grab it from MediaFire.
Enjoy!
Very cool! I like this because it maintains the stock look but is much nicer than the static boot image. Also not too goofy or flashy like others I've seen. Downloaded and copied to /data/local/ with Root Explorer, reported, and worked great! Thanks !

You can do it 3 ways... through adb, terminal, or root file manager.
Made this real quick while waiting to be unloaded. Tested and works. Put .zip on root of sd, open file manager (have su permissions and mounted as rw) copy and go to system/media, paste. Enjoy! "Rooted!!" will flash. I think it's cool so I share.Peace

That's not a bad idea. I personally like the T-Mobile version, but I can try making a version with an HTC logo. Any preference on color? Should the HTC logo be green or the same grey as the G2 logo? I should have time to make that later today.
If I put this in data/local, then choose to delete it at some point, will I encounter any issues?

Absolutely not . If you want to go back to the stock boot animation
just use root explorer to move the bootanimation.zip folder from
data/local back to your sd card , Reboot and back to normal .
Before when i was running EK02 I had a modified version of the default camera app where there was no shutter sound or focus beep. But since i got the EL29 update, the camera makes the sounds again. And when i push the modified camera apk into my system app folder, the camera force closes.
Does anyone have a working silent camera app for el29?
Here you go
Just follow the instructions. I'm on EL29 so I can vouch that it works flawlessly.
If you're comfortable editing the .apk yourself there's this.

Okay so the app works, but everytime i turn my phone off and back on it makes the camera force close so i have to go into root explorer and re install the apk everytime my phone turns off. Any way to fix that.
It's installed as a system app right with the permissions are set to rw-r-r (or 644)? Also try changing the owner and group to root. I would clear the camera data via Titanium backup and clear the dalvik cache in recovery then reboot. That' should take care of any issues. Granted I didn't have to do any of those things but everyones experience is different.
Also, which ROM are you running? This works on all aside from the ICS leaks. I ran it for quite a while now.

No problem. I edited the camera from Calkulin's 2.9 (EL29) rom to include all those improvements. Might work better for our phones. Here's the link to that thread too.
If you guys have a chance if you have not already check out Camera ICS in the market. It has an option for silencing camera and it also has a host of other features.
Just posting this as an option for others...
I know this is an old thread, but it's the only thing that search pulled up....
Is there a working silenced ICS camera for AOKP? All the cameras in this thread are incompatible.

Ok, someone requested this so I figured I would knock it out real quick for every to have.
Its basic percent battery mod by 1% increments with stock charging animation.
Thge image size is about 2px bigger than the stock ROM but if its gets any smaller you cant read it, lol.
This is for De-Odex ROMS. It can be flashed to Odex ROM but you must delete SystemUI.odex first.
THIS IS BASED on JRO03D and flashing on any other ROM is at your own risk!

If I'm reading you right, you're not doing it right. The point of changing the build.prop file is not to trick the Play Store into allowing you to download it, it's to trick the FB Home app linked in the OP into thinking it's installed on the right phone.
Install the app linked in the OP, not via the Play Store.

There is the option for no lockscreen at all, which is what I chose. I don't like the default one either.
I'm not too much a fan of the lockscreen either. Right now I'm using default ics theme on widgetlocker and using clokr for the clock. Looks and feels much nicer.

If you have root, you can get the AOSP lockscreen by renaming all of the Idlescreen_*.apk files to Idlescreen_*.apk.bak or to anything else that does not end in apk

Would these hold on reboots? I thought \system\app wouldn't hold on reboot due to write protection.
Lastly, if they do hold on reboot would I be able to return to stock by changing it back to .apk?

Those are great questions that hopefully CNexus can answer for you because I haven't a clue. In fact, I've been waiting to hear back on your experience before trying it myself. =)
It seems to me that it should work as expected if the files were renamed but I'm not sure about the write protection though.
Flash aroma file manager in recovery and rename from there. If you do it while the system is booted it will not hold since there is no kernel source to disable system write protection at the moment

I just tried this, but it does not show /app under /system. Only /bin. Any idea why?
Just saw this in the Q/A forum. Props to XPEric who stumbled upon it.
Without root you can get the ASOP lockscreen.
1. Go to system/apps
2. Copy HTCLockscreen.apk
3. Paste in /sdcard
4. Try to install (it will fail)
5. Reboot and you will have the ASOP lockscreen
I have no idea why this works but it does.

Yeah, the problem is there doesn't seem to be a way to reverse it if you were to change your mind (except with a backup of course). The solution here (if rooted) would allow me to rename the files to get the HTC Lockscreen back if I changed my mind.

Were you able to get it to work by renaming the 7 idlescreen APK files to .bak? I made sure I got all 7, but it never booted into the phone. I had to change them back for it to boot.
