Nothing, just redo it again. I had to do it over and over again like 7times or so before it finally took and launched like it was supposed to.
Good luck though, I don't think it'll work even if it launches. Can always try Sunshine S-OFF...
Okay... I managed to get S-OFF when I got my m8 about 3 mths ago. I read somewhere within the m8 forum that if you copy file of at least 2gig in size (or thereabouts) & paste it into your sd card when the first chug commences. This worked for me. So now I have an Int'l m8 - supercid - changed mid - viper w/ latest elemental-x kernel. It did come with a hard or soft brick warning. I have no doubt that the firewater script had been updated since I achieved this. Also depends on variant, baseband & a few other thingys. So have a search for this method to see if it is still current. Alternatively there is the Sunshine method.

Actually the developer beaups warned against copying a file like that, it can brick the device. Actual updates to Firewater as of lately? Not sure if they did. The same developers that did Firewater is doing Sunshine S-OFF.

Well that is the way to go. It was the way I gained S-OFF.

Not fully rooted/nand unlock, no engineer bootloader (eng-PC36IMG.zip) Solution: Simple root: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=47VAEWXH
am i boned?
Same here
I'm using CW Mod 2.5.0.1 and I'm getting the same thing. I think it was a response to one of your comments that has me looking for a bootloader change, but I'm waiting for confirmation. I found a bootloader here: http://gadgetvault.net/2010/06/how-to-load-a-custom-rom-on-your-htc-evo-4g/
I'll be interested in whatever anyone can contribute here.
TIA
we are boned!
It's go to do with the eng bootloader and the latest radio.

Which method did you used to unlocked your NAND? As far as the thread that I've posted above and from cyanogen himself, the problem you're encountering is with regards to the eng bootloader (NAND). My guess is you're only FULLY ROOTED but your NAND is NOT UNLOCKED. If you really want to flash CM6 then I suggest you NAND UNLOCKED your Evo first.
I used the latest unrEVOked this morning. Thank you, I was looking in the wrong direction. I am now working with this tutorial: http://www.gadgetsdna.com/how-to-root-htc-evo-4g-and-unlock-nand-protection/3861/
Getting errors along the way, but hopefully am focusing on the right area now.
Thanks again.
theres two simple roots, do the OTA simple root and then the 1,2,3 simple root afterwards or you won't be fully rooted nand unlock, most people forget to do the second part.
ive done both and still nothing! what is wrong?!

with a large lack of detail in your post, my answer will also lack a large amount of detail: if you did them both, and it doesnt work, you did something wrong. probably start over. you're wanting to load the eng RUU PC36IMG.zip that contains the unlocked hboot with NAND unlocked which cyanogen is requiring for his ROM.
thanks. I did the eng bootloader and its work know.
Same problem here... I was able to install CM6.1 ER2 successfully. But then when I tried to *downgrade* to CM6.0 stable I got this assertion failure.
I need to take my dev for service as I'm having hardware issues, worst case I get it replaced and when I receive the replacement and it comes with the latest update pre-installed, Can i use unrevoked 3.2.1 to Root my phone or do I have to follow the long commands in Adb Shell provided in the guide (how to root 2.2 froyo) in this forums?

I believe unrevoked can root any veraion, but not 100% sure. Did you take a look at theot wiki page withthe info?
I do not know the answer as well. Move this thread to the question and answer section for the evo and you may get an answer.

If you have nothing nice to say or knowledgeable info for the OP then shut your face
Greetings,
I also have a supersonic. I spent quite some time reading all the related threads, and
the info provided on Unrevoked's wiki(s). There have been several posts indicating that
It does work on the latest OTA (YMMV). I haven't (yet) fetched the latest OTA, but I did
root mine with Unrevoked 3.21, and I was using the most recent version
just prior to the latest OTA. I am happy to report, it couldn't have possibly been
easier, and everything still works as well, as it did prior. In fact, I'd say it works better,
as I now have some better boot/recovery options not previously available.
I might also note, there were several posts confirming that applying the latest
OTA after rooting with Unrevoked 3.21 were all successful.

I have the Indian HTC one X rooted with 1.28.720.10 and can't find the RUU anywhere.
I've been facing a lot of problems with it - including the disk space mysteriously vanishing, (20 gigs gone in my case) and so I want to revert it to a stock unrooted state before returning it for a replacement.
Already seen this thread for the AT&T version, and the sdcard does not have a mmcblk0p23 as stated.
I have the RUU for an older version(1.26.720.2) from the RUU thread so I want to downgrade the firmware to that one.
Anyone tried a variation of the AT&T method? Or is there another way to downgrade the firmware...or am I SOL?

wrong place to ask for. for all type of question there is a veeery big Q&A thread qo and ask there
You can't downgrade the firmware once updated the hboot and radio. You'll have to wait till s- off is achieved for that. What you can do is flash a stock rom (1.26), flash stock recovery, re lock bootloader (in order) and then flash the 1.28, subsequently 1.29.x firmware update ruu. If you want to get rid of the sd space issue, why not flash one of the many 1.29.x and 2.x based roms on the forum?
Wrong section btw. Anyway, best of luck!
Thank me if I helped.... You know I'll do it again Oh, and by the way, Sent from my HTC One X
Yeah, you can't flash an RUU that would take the hboot to a previous version. A few Chinese sites mention the 1.28.720.10 RUU, but I can't translate from my phone.
As said, just install ARHD 7.1 or whatever if you're already unlocked.

There really isn't. If firewater doesn't work then you either opt to pay $25 for sunshine or stay s-on forever.
Look at the bright side. At least you have options. With my One X i was stuck with s-on forever
I followed the fire Method on Youtube
but it's ending up nothing happen. It shows something different. I check bootloader, I still have S-On. If anyone can show me what I did wrong. Please help

Problem reading? It clearly states that it's patched i.e You won't get S-OFF with Firewater, period.
Try Sunshine S-OFF $25 but it'll tell you if it'll work or not before you pay.

Yep SunShine is your only option ...I only recommend it if you have to have it to return the phone for service.
lots of people want s-off that have no need for it at all
Firewater won't work, sure them lads who created Firewater also come up with SunShine - which is paid 20€ per one unlocked device. So it is very simple that free stuff won't work now, so You have to go for SunShine if You wish so - but in many cases it is too late to go back.
I was in the same position with my new M8, but I can safely say the Sunshine works great. $25 is a bit to drop for something like this, but it's incredibly easy to use and now my phone is right where I want it.
Sunshine and sleep good when finished
