[Q] Stock 4.4.2 to Stock 4.3 via Odin? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Hello!
I'm just got a replacement Note3 because I cracked the screen and it is running 4.4.2. My phone is still on 4.3. I've been reading about how you can't go back to 4.3 from 4.4.2 because of bootloader reasons, but it seems to be mostly people with custom roms. Is is possible for me to flash a stock 4.3 to the new 4.4.2 phone without any problems, or will the bootloader issues apply.?

No, you cannot odin back or downgrade from android 4.4.2 to 4.3
even if you never rooted or flashed any custom roms.
Good luck!

Can custom 4.3 or 4.4 ROMs be loaded from TWRP on stock 4.1.2?

I got an i747m for my brother. It was running stock 4.1.2 which I downgraded to 4.1.1, unlocked using the free menu method, and upgraded to a rooted stock 4.1.2.
Is it possible to load TWRP via odin and flash 4.3 or 4.4 ROMs (stock of CM-based) without flashing to stock 4.3 first? If I do flash a custom CM-based 4.3 or 4.4, will this upgrade the phone's bootloader to 4.3 as well?
I'm asking because I want to avoid tripping the knox counter on the phone as it is brand new.
I apologize if these sound like newbie questions. I did a search and could not find an answer.
Thanks for your time.

[Q] DN3

Hi. I am new to the forum and Note2 rom installations.
I am interested in installing Electron Teams DN3 V5. I have Upgraded my Note2 from stock 4.3 to stock 4.4.2 Kitkat (Knox not installed).
As the stock bootloader is upgraded from 4.3 to 4.4.2 is the procedure to root the DN3 the same or do i need a new bootloder other than MJ5.

In order to flash the newest KK rom you don't need a newer bootloader unless you want to charge your phone by turning it off.If you are on any older bootloaders they won't let you charge your phone in the powered off state ,it turns right back on. Also the latest bootloader is KNOXED meaning warranty goes out the window and you cannot go back to 4.1.2 only 4.3 is possible. Also ND3 bootloader seems to have better wifi reception for few users compared to being on older bootloaders.

[Q] 4.4.2 Cyanogenmod to 4.4.2 stock

Okay, so my phone is currently running 4.4.2 Cyanogenmod right now, I had to find out the hard way that I cant jump back to 4.3 due to the bootloader but will it be possible to install the stock 4.4.2 safely once its released? Or is there a way to go back down to 4.3 that I'm missing..

Don't know how you got the impression you can't go back to 4.3 from Kit-Kat based CM. CM, like most stock ROMs, doesn't come with its own bootloaders but relies on manufacturer's bootloader to run. If you went to CM from stock 4.3, chances are your bootloader was unaffected and still remains at 4.3. You can check what bootloader your phone is on by going to settings and seeing what you have under baseband. If it's UCUEMJB then you have the 4.3 (MJB) bootloader and you should be able to use custom recovery to flash a stock 4.3 restore image.
If history is anything to go by, you would be unlikely to get the (newly released) 4.4.2 update OTA if you are not on a full stock (or stock-based) ROM. I would, however, not be in a rush for OTA as we can always trust the good guys in the development community to come up with a manual update process shortly. If you still want to revert to full stock 4.3, then you can follow the instructions in the thread below ...

Your right!
Used the process you gave me and it worked, I had been trying to use odin but I supose a simpler solution was better. Thanks again!
I just switched from stable CM10.1 to stock 4.4.2 this week. It sucks. Performance and battery dropped drastically. Will be going back to CFW asap.

Can't flash Liquid Smooth ROM

Hi first of all I want to ask that I had stock 4.1.2 when I bought the phone, rooted it, flashed mj5 bootloader and successfully flashed the xperia z-ized rom based on 4.3 on my N7100. Then I wished to switch to dn3 rom but I still did not like it so I reverted back to stock 4.1.2 and updated to stock 4.4.2 via OTA updates. My question is, while updating via OTA to stock 4.4.2, can it be possible that I lost my mj5 bootloader and it was replaced by samsung's proprietary bootloader?
After using stock 4.4.2 I thought to check out the LS rom so I rooted, flashed philz recovery but the ROM does not boot at all and while trying to revert back to stock 4.1.2, ODIN displays the fail message. What did I do wrong and what should I do to overcome this? Thanks.
You've locked your bootloader because you upgraded to latest official which also comes with Knoxx.

Back to 4.3

My SGH-T999 currently has slimkat 4.4.4 I have searched through this thread to see if it possible to go back down to back down to 4.3, however it appears that the because 4.4.4 has new bootloader this cannot be done and could brick the phone due to knox? Can anyone confirm this for me?
Are you looking to flashing the stock full firmware or a custom rom? You only flashed a 4.4.4 ROM not firmware, and there is no official 4.4.4 for any of our S3 variants, only 4.4.2. T999 doesn't even have a 4.4.2 update as of now, so you can go back to 4.3 firmware if you would like

Yes, I'm trying to flash back to the 4.3 stock image. Basically I have rooted, and flashed a custom Rom (slimkat) and I would like to back to the stock experience.
