I don't like the 270 rotation sometimes I am reading something with the evo and tilt it right and I want to keep my portrait orientation, without disabling the auto rotate in settings, is this possible? I liked how it was on 2.1 thanks..
what rom are you using? 270 rotation isnt native to 2.2

I have seen a couple of reviews mentioning it. Maybe it is native to AOSP and not Sense?
270 rotation drives me nuts. I didn't like it on the iPhone, and I don't like it on Android. It is part of the reason I'm now addicted to CM. I keep trying to go back to other roms, but all the tweaks available (rotation, notification, status bar, etc) bring me back.
270 is native to froyo
go into your settings and go to Dispaly>auto-rotate and un check it.
thats about the only thing you can do with out a custom launcher like i believe adw allows you to pick the roration
this is my rom h t t p://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=743352 and there is only auto rotate screen option, on settings display there is not an option to let you choose between, 180 and 270.
I haven't tried any other roms yet, if anybody knows a good rom that doesn't break anything, that lets you disable that let me know thanks...
Hey guys, I just bought Go launcher EX and Launcher Pro Plus because I like to have as much choice as possible. Now, is there a way to keep Launcher Pro Plus in a horizontal mode? I know that you can turn auto-rotation on but that isn't good enough for me I need it to stay horizontal no matter what. Is there any way to do this?
Cheers!
hello again
go preferences, behaviour settings, then untick enable auto-rotation.

I think he means keeping it in landscape, un checking auto rotation will force it back into portrait.
I don't think its possible to do without some editing of the apk.
true.. i misread "horizontal".
i agree, i don't think it's possible if you want it to stay in landscape orientation
Anyone else having issues with the WidgetLocker lockscreen on 4.2.2 ROM's? No matter which 4.2.2 ROM I flash, I have the issue on all them.
I disable stock screensaver.
Enable Widget Locker.
Set Widget Locker to "force portrait" so that even when the phone is set to Auto Rotate, Widget Locker should always be in Portrait mode. This is so my sliders are always in the same location no matter what.
But, about 1/3 of the time, when my phone wakes up, Widget Locker will be in Landscape mode and my sliders are all funky looking. A reboot will temporarily resolve this till it happens again.
Anyone else?
version 2.3.2r1 btw.
Edit, reading the thread, I've discovered the whole "beta" option. I'm going to try the latest beta to see if that helps.
is there a way to disable lock screen rotation? I have g3 tweeks installed but did not enable lockscreen rotation is there another way to disable it? its starting to get on my nerves lol
Hi Guys,
I've been trying to figure out how to force the rotation of lockscreen into landscape.
I have tried all rotation control apps, paid and not. However, I can't find what I was looking for.
Ultimate Rotation Control provides near what I was looking for. It can force the lockscreen rotation to any orientation I wanted,
however, once I set the rotation of lockscreen to force landscape always, everytime I unlock my tablet, the home screen which is
locked to Portait was displayed as Landscape for about 2 seconds.
I was thinking that if, it is not only an app. If, it was edited thru the internal system applications, it will provide the smoothness
that I was looking for.
I already tried to edit the framework-res, I still can't find the XML where the lockscreen can be forced to landscape.
Several nights browsing Google hoping that some articles are already there to teach how to edit the lockscreen but I can't see any.
Due to my work overseas, I was not able to focus on this. But now I'm somehow pissed and I wanted my tablet to be the
way I want it, to look the way how I wanted.
Can someone show me the right path to where I should start? I don't mind if it would mean that I should study Android as I am a
software engineer, but just a beginner in java.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Kemaro
I'm using Rotation Control to force landscape. So far so good. Haven't noticed any problems and all apps like Instagram are forced to landscape without any issues.

Why is your lockscreen displaying in portrait anyway it's a landscape device and should display as landscape natively? :what:

The lockscreen of Tab S is always on auto rotate. It is not natively in landscape.
I wanted it to force landscape always but only the lockscreen. As for the home screen, it should be auto rotate.

I'm sorry but that's not what happens on my SM-T805 using Phoenixrom.
The Lockscreen and Homscreen stays natively in landscape and doesn't rotate at all.
I can use a rotation app to auto rotate the home screen, but the lockscreen stays landscape no matter what.
I don't remember it being any different on total stock.

You have the 8.4 version? That is a portrait device. I just assumed it was the 10.1 because you said landscape.
