A friend of mine asked me too see if there's a way to make otg cables work with the s4 mini.
So, I googled and searched a lot and I didn't found something useful, so I'm asking you: are otg cables compatible with the s4 mini? If they're not, is there a way to make them work with the s4 mini? Thank you very much.

This has been answered many times stock s4 mini don't support otg,
workaround flash custom kernel with otg support and use "y otg" cable.

OTG on the S4 Mini works only with a custom kernel AND an OTG Y cable. (The power for the device must be provided externally. The phone will not provide the power)

Amazing, so far we've had root, extra buttons on the dock (menu), better settings for auto-brightness and now this - and all from one dev.
superb, this is great news - thanks Paul. Your work really is highly appreciated
Great job Paul
Just wondering does that enable both UMS, PTP and MTP or is it a toggle between UMS and PTP + MTP?
Edit: Oh, my bad i thought you were referring to the storage on the device (Because i saw you had /mnt/sdcard/) not USB-OTG
USB keyboard and mouse works too...
P
Assume a USB-OTG dongle is required? Recommend one? Thanks.
I just bought a cheapo off eBay IIRC.

Thanks Paul for all your hard work.

Just search for "usb A female to micro male"
http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_fro...emale+to+micro+male&_sacat=See-All-Categories
That is a stock feature? I mean if I get that phone I can connect a usb key with a simple USB adapter?

nope, not a stock feature of GN, only after the custom kernel. ICS supports it already.
I've got the cable, now how do I use it? Running Modaco ROM. Plugging in my pendrive doesn't seem to do anything, do I need to manually mount?
this is awesome. Now i just hope i can plug in my 1TB external, then no need to worry about 16GB of internal
This is so awesome, once I get my nexus ill be doing this!

This one works fine, even though it's not advertised as being an OTG cable:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005ZSDZQ8

Edit: just noticed it went up in price. I ordered it like a week ago and it was 2.99 back then.
This guy deserves a girl

but how to use it?

Ok looks like it's micro usb wtf is the point of that? That's like adding an extra item that isn't needed
Ok looked a little harder and it seems this adapter is more for those who have the old 5 pin mhl adapter. If this is the case what a waste of money
Guess I'll be ordering a proper adapter. Ps will the new 11 pin work with the old 5 pin phones? Otherwise it might be better to get the old mhl adapter since I already have the damn adapter lol. Is this all correct?

I don't think the 11 pin to 5 pin will work, but I haven't tried this so I could be wrong. I found this thread that could interest you however...

Already read it. As far as I can tell the adapter I bought is to be able to use the normal mhl adapter. Which is why it has a micro usb port as a an output. So you can connect it. The Samsung s3 mhl adapter is an 11 pin from the s3 output already. Furthermore, Samsung arguably released the latter adapter to appease the masses since they gave the consortium and people a big F U.
Is there a RJ45/LAN cable connector available for our Nexus 7?
I have installed a few very useful apps (IP tools, Fing, etc), they all work great but of course I need a WIFI connection before they are really useful.
At work I'm often in situations where there is no WIFI available or you just need to test through cable.
At the moment I need my laptop for this, would be great if I can do all with only my Nexus at hand.
Would such combination work on our beloved Nexus 7 (2013)?

Thanks! I ordered an Edimax EU4208 which has the same chipset (AX88772B) as yours so hopefully it will work!
Also ordered a separate OTG cable.

Thanks, I'll let you know!
Just be careful what OTG cable you get. I have found a lot of them being very finicky! You can constantly lose you network connection.
Just received my OTG cable and Edimax EU-4208 (usb lan cable with ASIX AX88772B chipset) and it does not work OTB.
After flashing the bootloader through ADB mentioned here & here I can confirm it does work!
When doing a speedtest through http://speedtest2.nl and downloading a 1000mb.bin file I get a speed of 8 - 9MB/s.
Multiplied by 8 gives me a nice 70mbit/s, which should be pretty decent for an USB2.0 usb LAN cable.
(I have a 120mbit cable connection)
Only downside I found it does not add an ethernet option to my Android Settings Menu.
That sucks because I'm not able to set any network settings this way (IP, DNS, Subnet, Gateway etc).
Is there a way to add this? The OTG cable + lan adapter is purely for network testing etc, so setting an IP, DNS etc would be kinda mandatory.
Also a few apps do not work without a wifi connection, for instance: Fing. Is there a way to trick the apps? I already tried an XPosed module called: Hack Connectivity Service without luck...

Normal OTG Cables for other smartphones will work on Firephone?
OTG is not supported by the Kernel. The (sad) end.
edit: It's disabled on purpose (ofc.) since Amazon is usually only interested in allowing content coming in from their paid platforms.
It's quite disappointing.. I've asked Amazon support about it and been told that it should be in one of the next updates (probably will never happen). So my other question was about OTG cable for FF sold on and by Amazon (can't find it now). Support guy told me that he can't say if it works or not. I can try to buy it and will see.. Is he kidding? Order cable for about 10 pounds and not sure if it works? Thank you, support team

I've connect SanDisk it 32 on my fire phone but didn't connected it shows nothing . If any one knows how to fix it help needed.
Hi,
Does anyone know if the Oneplus 9 [Pro] has an NFC chip supporting Mifare Classic? That usually means a chip from NXP. I have checked
MCT COMPATIBLE_DEVICES (and INCOMP.) and
ShopNFC NFC-list but they are not listed (and actually the shopnfc list has Pro 7 listed as not classic compatible, but the MCT document says the opposite, so even if someone know that 9 [pro] has the same chip I am not really convinced).
If you have a 9 [Pro] and a Mifare Classic card (quite a lot of travelling/bus cards and access cards/keyfobs using that variant) and want to help,
download MCT from F-droid or Google Play and see if the phone recognizes a card (should give a pop-up with something alike "New tag found").
Would help a lot in my decision of buying a new phone. Currently using Oneplus 6.
Thanks
It seems to detect my bus card which is migrate classic. It only take a long time to make a dump, don't know if that is normal..

Ohh thank you!! Perfect. That is a 4k card, so takes quite some time to read. I assume that you have a 9 Pro, the screenshot resolution seems correct also.
I only wish it had a 3,5mm connector as well, then it would be a no-brainer. (Hm, maybe I should start a new thread to hear if there are any usb-c splitters that supports fast charging...)
I have the 9 pro indeed.
Maybe this adapter is what you are looking for....

Good.
Yes I've seen those, but I'm afraid that it will not support fast charging, especially since Oneplus requires an original cable *and* an original charger. But will probably give it a try.
For future reference, I also got an answer from Oneplus:
"We would like to inform you that both OnePlus 8 Pro and 9 Pro comes with SN100T NFC Chipset which is manufactured by NXP."
